I am least concerned about the figure of the budget, it can be 900trillion for all i care. What concerns me is the degree to which the capital expenditure is released and executed. That to me is what accounts for the performance of the budget. Now, what exactly is their reason for raising their (NASS) budget from 115bn in 2016 all the way to 139bn in the current budget? What additional work are they anticipating besides making more funds available to themselves to steal in leu of the general elections? Are they planning to employ more Nigerians into that entity? Are they planning to pass more bills? Are they planning to build more projects in their constituencies? What exactly is their justification? Saraki and Dogara, your greatest prayer points should be that Buhari loses this election, ditto all those known and unknown crooks that litter the Nigerian political space. Pray! 23 Likes 1 Share |

Fact File 2015 Total budget = N4.5 trillion NASS budget = N150 billion Oil benchmark = $53/bbl Fuel Price = N87 2018 Total budget = N9.12 trillion NASS budget = N139.5 billion Oil benchmark = $51/bbl Fuel Price = N145 Executive have doubled the amount of their expenditure, yet no visible impact but Legislature have reduced their expenditure between 2015 and 2018 Most of the projects claimed to have been inserted by the NASS are road projects for visible impact while those whitewash projects for looting eg security for UN building, security for Unity Schools, pension whatever were cut down, hence the outcry cos source of money for 2019 elections has been cut down But then, do you even think both the cabal in executive and legislature really do care about you? Restructuring is the only way forward 7 Likes 3 Shares |

My question to the Igbo senators and house of reps is where were they when the Enugu airport terminal budget was slashed by over 50% same as the 2nd Niger Bridge. The South East have to know the true enemies, Northern projects were not slashed but key eastern projects were. The response here does not even address the issues raised by the president. At the end, these guys end up buying 2heelbarrows and cutlass and call it projects. 9 Likes 1 Share |

What about the implementability of the budget? One of the cardinal features of a good budget is that it must be implementable. Nigeria is just a joke. |
