My brother the thing tire me..I can't bliv a coach is saying this.. If a coach can open his mouth to utter this rubbish then there is no need having hope of qualification because its the work of the coach to inject confidence into his team....but this comment here means he has accepted defeat already... THIS IS PURE COWARDICE. I'm so so pissed at this MAD COWARD.

It is NOT CONSOLATION. You guys are the ones giving it a different meaning. This is us getting charged up for tomorrow. We have a mountain of a job tomorrow and we know it! No one is feeling complacent not even the players.

Gbam!! It's the typical naija attitude. We said the same thing during the friendlies about Croatia not being that great. Now see am.
Now we are trying to console ourselves with today's result.

Croatia is gona play their last match with weaker team.. Island in at advantage.
Besides Croatia might decide to sell the win to them. As fellow Europeans this kinda politics and sentiments still exist in football

Great players and a seemingly good tactician in Dalic.
I beg to differ about Dalic being a good tactician
Playing Persic on the right is no no for me

They couldn't have played us like this because our tactics and organization was better than the Argies.

Dalic did a good homework on the teams in group D. I see them going far. but still observed weaknesses in their back line. ..though the much maligned Strinic has acquitted himself so far.

All I see now are some folks gauging their hearts against "in case we fail".... grin But if we win, they will pick up their belief again and put it on. As if belief is a cap you can just take off and on at anytime. Omo, if you believe in this team, you believe. If you don't, then sorry, you just don't. One cannot be on the fence on this one. wink

And someone (Elyte I think) said in 2002, we saw two European teams qualify and it is likely to happen again. Well I got some additional info for you fella since you wanna use the tool of history....

In 2002, we faced Argentina in our first game and we lost and crashed out.
In 2010, we faced Argentina in our first game, we lost again and we crashed out even when all we needed was a win against Korea but it was not to be, sadly. Even Yakubu missed a chance Mbappe buried today.

We have never advanced to the next round after playing Argentina first in a WC edition.

Now look at the next pattern...

In 1994, we played Argentina second and we qualified.
In 2014, we played Argentina third and we still qualified.

We have always qualified from a group having Argentina when we don't play them first. It is funny that the only years we have never advanced from the group stage have been when we fell to Argentina in our first game (2002 and 2010).

Now I know History can be funny some times and sometimes, patterns remain and are sometimes changed but this is the pattern right now.

In 2018, I have a feeling that this will be the year we break this Jinx of never beating a South American team at a World cup ONLY IF WE CAN RISE, SHOW FORTH THE TRUE POWER OF NAIJA AND BEAT ICELAND TOMORROW. Before, it used to be the jinx of never beating a south American team at senior level but we broke that jinx properly just last year with that 4-2 win although we did same in 2011 in a 4-1 win over Argentina but that result was never looked upon with the respect it deserves because we played a BC-Class Argentine team then.

The game against Iceland will determine it all. It is indeed the game of our lives and possibly will be the most interesting in Group D yet.

Those two will be key. Tactics is not enough. We had the tactics that helped us reduce Croatia's effectiveness but it was not enough. Matching the Croatians tactically was not enough. Sometimes it is also about the playing personnel executing those tactics. Those two will be key against Iceland if they play. You sef know.

Do you mean Argentina didn't use tactics?

If they used tactics, why is Messi and co not the key?

Abi those two players are better than Messi and co? shocked

Understand. Don't miss the point. Understand before you wrongfully take the path of players downgrade again.
How good are the Argentines in midfield and defence? They simply stood no chance. But unlike Argentina, we have the midfield and defence that can make life hell for them. They only got the attack better than we do. We saw that game last November, almost all those players played here today except Messi.

In using tactics, the players used with respect to a team's strengths is key. For Nigeria (vs Iceland now), these two players are among such key playing personnel. We are not the wack Argentine team with a porous midfield and a lazy defence, we have our strengths and we must use the most effective players to make our own tactics work far more effectively.

That one is a different issue they were all fighting to be in the tournament but here..Croatia have already shown them superiority by topping d worldcup group.
So selling them the win won't matter to them.

It was rather part of the game plan from the gaffer. It was not like Moses chose that pattern. The belief was if it worked against Poland it will work against Croatia who were more physical than the poles
If that's how he thought, then he is dumber than I thought. He should give FIFA some credit @Fifa refs.
