Really sad for Caballero. He really worked hard to get to this stage. I hope he has the strength to pick up himself from this.

No Musa? I thought he was the new addition to the starting XI. I'm assuming Iwobi is the super sub then. Where would our pace from then?

Isn't this what we have been saying since to play victor Moses as a LWB but a really offensive one..Moses would be a lot effective as a wing back..

He would get a lot of chances to get into one on one take ons as a wing back..

Which player downgrade again?

Why you no tell those really downgrading other players?

You are very funny.

You mean prior to the match against Croatia, you expected our midfield stand a chance against Croatia that has the best midfield in the world?

Are you saying our midfield is better than that of Argentina not to talk of Croatia?

Is our defence better than the Argies defence? shocked grin

Bros, Argentina team is far better than our team, from defence to attack.

If Rohr was in charge of Argentina today, his tactics will be different.

Today, tactics won the match today and our tactics rendered the Croats useless. EOD

Argentina is a Wounded Lion with some world class players.

Liverpool beat Manchester city against all odds that didn't make city a bad team.

Argentina can correct very quickly thier problems, if we play with that attitude we will lose. If we beat Argentina it will be against the odds.

Well today we have to TURN UP with discipline focus and self- belief. Iceland will not lie down for us to walk over them.

It's going to be VERY TOUGH.

With no height in midfield, we will get dominated and bullied and concede the midfield. Iceland are going to use a passing game. It will be aerial dominance and pressing.

Echiejile will leave us exposed.

With thar formation we can start going home.

I would even consider the slow but muscular Ogu in defencsive midfield than Onazi. It's going to be big fight in the midfield and you need Big strong Warriors and without Ndidi we have no guns.

I only quoted your words, "Moreover, nobody wants France."

I was just playing picking on just that and saying, "...hands raised here, I actually do want France", even though you were speaking for Croatia.

So it changes nothing about the bottom line... Me personally, that is me, myself and I want France. We cannot avoid it sef coz the best we can get to qualify is second but truth is that it's what I have been hoping for even before the WC began. wink You read me now? wink So, I do cool

I don't know why, but ever since Iwobi scored that goal and we qualified for the worldcup. My imagination brought Nigeria playing against France in the 2nd round, a repeat of our last 2nd round. I too really want a repeat of this match so bad. With our young guns Iwobi, Nacho and co going head to head with the so called france 2nd golden generation. Win or lose that will showcase and announce the presence and arrival of our boys to the world. But before that a spanking of Iceland and then a whitewashing of Argentina.

I don't usually do this but tommorow's prediction, 3:1 advantage Naija.

No way on God's green earth any starting 11 of that Naija team does not beat Iceland.

Heading to Twitter right now, he must be shown his way out

#RohrOut angry

Y'all screaming 'WE ARE NOT COWARDS' and I begin to wonder if it is the same Nigerian fan we know of. If not the emotions running in y'all, Rohr is just doing what coaches do. It's funny how y'all thinks he is telling his players not to win because the opponents are better. And for the record, Nigerians have always been cowards. Infact, you all had written them off before the competition started. Majority of Nigerian fans have always lowered their expectations on the team, bash them when they lose and denigrate their achievements when they win. Now we are claiming courage. From where?
The courageous ones are ready to ride or die with the team.

Yes ooo..but too be honest, I think a Simy-Iheanacho combination might better to a simy-Ighalo combination....we need fluid dynamic forwards not 2 static forwards..I guess Rohr knows best

When the groupings was done, we all said it is likely Iceland we can beat and beat well in that group. So wat are we waiting for? Lets trash this Vikings. If we can't beat Iceland, den we don't have any business coming to the World Cup..... Go eagles!!!!

I've honestly been saying this. Based on first match performances, people are swaying towards Iceland. But by default, we should be handing a defeat to these Vikings. Head to head, our players on paper are better than them. Our players play in top leagues and we have a bit over a handful that play in top clubs in Europe. The same cannot be said about Iceland. All we need is self-esteem, effort and tactical smarts to get the job done.

He is. Which striker is more intelligent than him. Dude is very calculative. Ighalo works very hard, but intelligence with good technics will bring results, and Simy trumps all our CF's because of this, coupled with his physicality and hold-up play.

Rohr wants to prove to mourinho that Mikel is a good attacking midfielder.

With this formation, I don't see us scoring much. We might just score one and defend till the end or concede one and be on our way back. Volgograd is very close to Russia international Airport. That might mean something to you

In fact he should wait till he resumes next season before picking up, no be for naija match.

Its not rosy for many immigrant parents and their children. I also read the story of rising tennis player of Sierra Leonean descent, Frances Tiafoe. I even have friends who are children of immigrants tell me their story. Many people in Africa who are not exposed have this notion in their heads that when people leave for abroad everything is set for their families.

komekn:
Deviating from the subject matter for a moment.

There has been this campaign to justify the double standard and or to exclude players of Nigerian origin not born in Nigeria.

There is an assumption made by many that WE GOT IT EASY because we are in Europe. With that assumption there is the belief that extreme poverty does not exist here. Add to that poverty institutional racism and you see the mountains our players have to climb here.

I read Lukaku's story who I have met a few times and have spoken with. Find him to be a very well balanced individual very humble and respectful as well.

His story " I've got some thing to say" brought tears to my eyes.

Hopefully some of you will appreciate things differently with regard to the struggle of Nigerian origin players in Europe.
