I agree that the recent revelations are quite shocking but even Nigerians harbour some racist tendencies towards other nationals albeit inwardly.

Don't also forget that his emigration and subsequent vocal campaign against racism in America was with black Americans. His acceptance in America may have softened him and exposed him to another facet of life.

People slept 20 to a room, disease was rife, corruption the order of the day, and child labour was normal. It took them over a century of reforms to get to where they are today.

You may be right about Nigerians and racism, though from personal observation these racist tendencies are more geared towards themselves (Igbo vs Yoruba, hausa vs Fulani, etc) than towards other Nationals.

Einstein emigrated to America in order to save his own life, being a Jew in a majorly Nazi society. Someone with way above average IQ like Einstein would have calculated that sooner or later, the Nazis would come either for his head or his services. So he escaped to save his own life, and whether his subsequent campaigns against racism were genuine or not remains to be seen.
