But lets not get too excited.
Argentina will be out for a kill

Our next game is the most important...pls

Argentina plays in a way that favors our counter-attacking strength. We just need to start early, we can not wait till the second half.

It is not celebrating too early... It is our wind. Our wind is back. Messi will be stifled. Musa will soar. Nigeria will soar. Argentina is crashing out. We are gonna break the jinx.

That second half performance is our best since the Argentina game.

Musa needs 3 more world cup goals to become the African record goal-scorer in FIFA World Cup history.

The current record-holder, Asamoah Gyan (Ghana) scored 6 career world cup goals.

And the formation 3-5-2 with the right personnel is the denominator in both outstanding outings. wink

I d actually like to see simy and Musa start instead. Just to cause trouble for the Argentine defence filled with short people.

grin
I have always advocated for Simy's inclusion in the starting eleven. He is better than Ighalo and Iheanacho.

That’s my only fear. We must start well. But I expect Messi to be at his best. We must do our best to cage him just as other countries have done recently, and avoid giving away free kicks around our 18

Smellymouth:
Etebo Vs Iceland game by numbers:
93% Pass Accuracy
8 duels won
4 tackles
2 key passes
2 take-ons completed
2 shots on target..
Forget, Ndidi and Etebo are ballers.

I wish Etebo delayed his move to Stoke, he has had a great world cup so far but we cant blame him because he never knew things would turn out this way. I pray he leaves for the EPL on loan from Stoke

Kai who noticed? After Musa’s attempt at a hat-trick hit the bar, the ball fell to Moses. Moses was like, “make I try my own too”.

the duo should be the fulcrum of this team. its also advisable that more midfield players should be tried after the world cup which will boast the team quality in the midfield position on the bench

Super Eagles news... Still on the matter

Nigeria’s Ahmed musa has become the first African player to ever score multiple goals in a game in consecutive World Cups.

Today MUSA gets all the accolades he was very clinical. But mehn OMERUO was a beast today. I was so impressed with him, he showed that "we go die here" spirit today.

standing ovation for MUSA AND OMERUO.

#PleaseNote: IGHALO is a waste.

Summary of 3-5-2

90 min against Argentina GA 2,... GF 4

45 min against England GA 0,.... GF 1

90 min against Czech Republic 1 GA,..... 0 GF

90 min against Iceland 0 GA,..... Gf 2

____________________________________________

TOTAL: In 315 minutes of 3-5-2 formation, we Scored 7 goals and Conceded 3 goals

An average of 1 goal in every 45 minutes

In summary... Rohr should stick to 3-5-2 henceforth

What I'm saying is that If we're gonna win today ..we have to be prepared to go all the way against Argentina.

Cos if we should today..they have a huge chance by beating us...so we have to be up for it

I'm sure you won't say this after the match

No surprises with Omeruo. The guy has been Nigerians best defender this past season statistically.
A few here thought I had an agenda when I posted his stats here months back.

U sure Simmy can exchange those quick one - two passes Kelechi was giving out? Can Simmy track back into the midfield to orchestrate attacks and still rush back to the front, quick enough like KC was doing?

Just a simple question
