The Ighalo bashing is not borne out of reality. Just a herd mentality. It's a classic case of mass hysteria effect. It has become very monotonous and frankly too boring.
If you had said Moses or Mikel or even shehu, I accept. But Ighalo? That guy is past it.

If we allowed to prove in decent league, Uzoho would not be in goal today. It is time we kill that mind set and just keep searching for the best.

"When I was in Nigeria, I discovered Daniel Amokachi in Enugu when Ranchers Bees played a league game with Rangers.

“I walked up to their bus and told him he will be in my (Super Eagles) team, he said which team and I told him right there in the presence of other players, I’m the national team manager but he said he was just 16 years old and I said it didn’t matter."---Clemence Westerhoff (Super Eagles former Head Coach)

If we consider the calibre of goalkeepers we had Uzoho is very average. Sorry to say.

You are confident they save penalty, freekick, shots etcetera. But Uzoho is not good in all.

I still don't think he is the best goalkeeper we have judging from the spot kicks and other factors.

Hope he improves but before then I want to see the Brazilian and German breed Nigerian goalkeepers, even Alampasu before I conceed he is better.

However, Rangers Bees of those days is not efulefu and even our league was not talent drained as we are having it now. 98% of Nigerian players played in the local league but very tangible fraction played abroad.

So, it was normal to scout players from the local league.

If not why you no put Lokosa for ya list ahead of Onyekuru and co? grin

I dont know that ECN bus-stop but Emma stayed by Chemist Bus-stop along Iganmu road when going to Orile.

Just to give you a glimpse of myself if you can remember. Were you in school when Cardoso played that epic game that saw us beat Sari-Iganmu secondary school 2-0 and the game ended in serious blood shed. angry

I played that game alonside Bina Ajuwa who later played for the Super Eagles under Christain Chukwu.

Hmmmmm dats gotta be hard cos of the cat and dog stance between us,

Yea I know of chemist, I was actually talking of Emma family place at ojo road, or you can correct me

Summary of 3-5-2

90 min against Argentina GA 2,... GF 4

45 min against England GA 0,.... GF 1

90 min against Czech Republic 1 GA,..... 0 GF

90 min against Iceland 0 GA,..... Gf 2

____________________________________________

TOTAL: In 315 minutes of 3-5-2 formation, we Scored 7 goals and Conceded 3 goals

An average of 1 goal in every 45 minutes

In summary... Rohr should stick to 3-5-2 henceforth
We didn't play 3-5-2 against Czech in the first half.

I so much like the idea of NFF bringing ex internationals to speak to SE..

It crown it all AmajuPinnick also invited Senate president to speak to them...
AmajuPinnick keep saying s. President should prophesy into their life cos he did it against CMR and he can do it again... Lol

NFF deserve some accolades

Remember we all made the suggestions of bringing ex internationals to talk to the players during the tournament...

Here comes happening...

Sometimes I wish our govt can be yielding to our feedback.... Nigeria would have been a better place

Quite surprised when someone said Iceland had 8 shots on target in the first half. I had to watch the first half numerous times again to be sure if I actually watch the right match loll.

Whenever Iceland play, their 330,000 population is often brought into discussion when they are compared with their opponents. For this, around 44million Argentines joined 186million Nigerians in supporting the Super Eagles.
Messi and his team-mates may have watched the first five minutes through their fingers as Gylfi Sigurdsson twice tested 19-year-old Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho. Shortly before the break, Sigurdsson swung in a cross and all Alfred Finnbogason had to do was head it home but his timing was all wrong.

At half-time, Iceland had managed seven shots with two on target. Nigeria had none.

I never said on target, I said 7 to 8 shots.. Go check again bro

He should be most concerned about our results. And its not like he's been a bench warmer all along.

Yes we need to win. No calculations. Get that early goal. Protect it, and rely on counters to add to the tally. Oh I didn’t say earlier, I love that Mikel role today.

Mikel did very well. He played his role as the Captain excellently too. I particularly liked his delay tactic. Lol

On my own, I wouldn't want us to score and defend either because doing so would give the Argies an edge. Instead, I'd rather we score, hold them off and tell all of them "WE DIE HERE!" grin

Exactly his effort is not good enough... The matter will be frustrated just like Balogun said during post match interview

He said the Rohr told them to calm down and play

Maybe he needs that now... Just need to calm down cis his spot is already down...

Even the bolded is wrong.

Oga! We didn't know what transpired behind the scene. Save me this downgrade of Ighalo.

Did you hear what he told the coach?

Oya! Tell me.

For me, the coach must have told him to prepare when we still needed to seal the game and after Ahmed scored the second goal, he might have asked the coach... Do I still go in?

Anything, can happen.

This is not the first time we saw players doing that in such situation. Abeg.

exactly

After all, he relegated Iheanacho to the bench, so, now that he is not performing (not that he ever really was), he should get his own seat on the bench

Yeah.. he was brought to Russia mainly to deliver which he's failing to do. We fuvcking have other strikers.

I'm a fan but its time to utilize our options.

The initial word I used Was PLAY.

One thing you guys don't know is that seconds count in football. If you don't make the right decision at the right time then forget it. He did well to win the ball but spoiled everything by holding longer. Iwobi was already there asking for the pass. But he waited few more seconds which allowed our opponents to fall back and gets into position and that was the end of a potential goal for us and an assist for him.
This he did repeatedly. One was a pass he got at the center circle which he just needed to pass to a running Musa who was trying to get into space as we were 2 against 2. But baba held for so long till he was fouled. That's why we don't score often when he plays.

IIghalo is good at holding up play but his timings are bad and so let the team down. Hope you get it Sir.
I agree with what you said 100% i don't have a problem with ighalo as a player I think his abilities are good and unique to him but based on the style we play at the moment he may not be a perfect fit. Like you said countless times when we are on the counter and he had a chance too quickly pass the ball and break musa free he dwelt too long on the ball and we lost our attacking advantage because the icelandic defenders had gotten back. I think for ighalo to thrive he needs good supply from creative midfielders into the box to flourish but fast counter attacking football is not his forte. Plus I can't remember odion from his time with Watford scoring goals of a fast break

Could be that they later moved to Ojo road. I stayed at Sari-Iganmu, my street was off Amuneke's. When i gained admission into tertiary institution I learnt they left the neighbourhood. I didn't actually probe much about where they had moved to.

Talking about the Cat and Dog stance between the two schools, it wasnt there during our time. Although there were usually little pockets of battle for supremacy here and there. I learnt there was a serious War between the two school after we left and that even led to the fencing of the schools and separating their gates.
Gaskiya were bragging about their Samson Siasia we were bragging about our Emmanuel Amuneke. cheesy

You know Bina Ajuwa right? Bina and Kachi were my boys. I personally adviced our games master to elivate Bina to play with us in the senior team. He was in SS1 then. Bina became our best left winger while I played the Right wing. Then we likened him to Emma Amuneke. The same Bina later went to play for the Super Eagles. Kachi also made his debute under Christian Chukwu.

How? In 6 minutes of play, he created 2 chances. Statistically, how many did Kelechi create for all the much celebrated running and movement? You guessed it zero! (Although corner kicks and free kicks will be picked up by the computer as chance created of which I'm not talking about this, but chance created from open play).
Stop aiding this mass hysterical effect. If Ighalo scored to put Nigeria through against Argentina, everybody will celebrate. So chill

bro , dont add emotion to it , IF WE MUST WIN ROHR MUST PUT SENTIMENT ASIDE .when we clamour for victor Moses , to play as wing back or stay on the bench , people say , we want to put our Neymar on the bench ... football as gone past adding emotion ,every contribution of all the players matters . even if he stayed on the bench . i still want to see Moses plays for the wing back and Ighalo on the bench ... what we need against Agrentina is a quick pass style . that wrecked them in the friendly.

People should stop saying that nonsense that Ighalo begged to be subbed in, una dey there? I think what happened was very clear, Rhor wanted to bring him in and he called him over to give him tactical advice before he joins the game, very simple stuff.

Honestly, it's very disturbing.

What they are saying doesn't make sense again one bit for now until we hear from the camp.

U sure Simmy can exchange those quick one - two passes Kelechi was giving out? Can Simmy track back into the midfield to orchestrate attacks and still rush back to the front, quick enough like KC was doing?

Just a simple question
Yeah true talk. What we need against Argentina is simple: Strong/stubborn defending and quick transition to the final third. (counter attacks)

Actually he is meant to enter but you will see his gesture than he really want to play... He's looking so pressure Knowingfully well his position is at risk and he need to prove the coach right....

It's not a lie.. I just watched the highlights now, he was eager to come in immediately Musa scored the 2nd goal. I feel for him though but he can't do more than his ability... If you know, you know. He should continue to romance the bench in this tournament..

i watched him and i agree he was poor on the 3 occasions he played but that doesnt mean he is not a good player. last season he was one of 9ja's best midfielders in europe. he is kinda trying to reinsert himself in the team and rohr and his coaching crew saw enough of what he can provide the team before his name was included in the worldcup list. joel i believe will come good with time. also he has played couple of times as a wingback for both inter milan and torino in the serie A

He was given ample time to convince in friendlies. He never convinced.

Crucial WC match not the place to experiment again pls.
