forgiveness:if you consider Uzoho's age, you will not be considering him alongside keepers in their late 20's-early 30's He is just starting, compare him to a 20-year old Enyeama, were you always confident about him? Did you think he could pull his weight at a senior World Cup back then? Uzoho has done well for his age, he has done very well in fact and could very well be greater than Enyeama in the coming years considering how well he has handled pressure so far The boy is yet to concede from open play, there are many other keepers far better than him in this tournament who have conceded. So, it is about time we stopped considering the players we could have had and focus on the one we do have. It is very easy to assume someone else could have done better, when the person cannot be in that position. For all we know, the 'better' goalies would have crumbled under pressure. Uzoho has earned some level of trust from fans and it is very unfair of you, and anyone else, to keep on bringing up players who may or may not have done better. Give him his accolades abeg, enough of sizing him up with others, everybody's time will come 7 Likes |

if i am to Vote ... i will Vote Musa's first goal as the best goal in this tournament so far . cos the ball control , confused both the defenders , the keeper ,his team mate , even the spectators ,and the viewers at home , cos they were expecting a pass . or something else .ITS ONLY ARJEN Robben that has used similar style . what a magnificent goal! can someone watch it again and come here to analyse that goal 2 Likes |

If una say Ighalo dey beg Rohr to enter pitch, what about Iheanacho that was begging Musa to give him the pass so he can do a simple ''Tap-in'' after Musa had done all the serious work. A special shout-out to TeamTap-InMerchants 6 Likes

This stewpid insinuation should stop already. How could someone say he was begging to be subbed in? The Coach might have told him to get ready, and as soon the second goal came, he had to hurry up in order to help protect the lead by being a nuisance with his hold up play. He did holding up pretty well even though I wanted more from him because he killed two go bound opportunities with his excessive holding up and poor striking sense. I have never been Ighalo's fan and I never wanted him in this world cup team, but in this case, he didn't do any wrong. Make una stop dis nonsense talk, its nauseating. |

eterisan: Since it's like we play better in the 2nd half, maybe we should always start the 1st half in a defensive mode by playing 4:5:1 or 5:4:1 then we switch to 3:5:2 in the second half against Argentina. All our recent matches has proven that we soar mostly after 45 mins and we get punished within the first 45 mins. |

That is a school that prides itself not in the number of Medical Doctors, Engineers, Accountants etc that it has produced but in the number of great footballers, and coaches the two schools combined have produced. Nigeria captain Mikel slams Croatia decision to rest star players June 22, 2018 6:02pm EDTJune 22, 2018 3:26pm EDT The Super Eagles could find themselves relying on the Group D leaders - who plan to leave big names out against Iceland - to reach the knockout stages Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel has called on Croatia to be professional and not rest players against Iceland in a match that could yet decide the Super Eagles' World Cup fate. Two goals from Ahmed Musa ensured Nigeria remain in the hunt for a place in the knockout stages as they saw off Iceland in Volgograd. Gernot Rohr's side now know that a victory over Argentina in Saint Petersburg will be enough for them to reach the last 16 for the fourth time in their history. And though a defeat to the Albiceleste would confirm their elimination, a draw would mean they require Croatia to do them a favour against Iceland. Croatia have already booked their place in the latter stages of the competition, and as such manager Zlatko Dalic has vowed to leave out some of his star players in a bid to conserve their fitness. Mikel, though, does not understand the reasoning behind Dalic's decision and feels it is unfair on the rest of the teams in the group. "I don't think it's the best thing to do," he told Goal. "This is a massive tournament - you can't rest people and give others a chance of qualification. "They should be professional and play their best team. This is such a big stage that you can't rest players just to help other teams to qualify." Nigeria have faced Argentina four times in their previous five World Cup appearances, losing on all four occasions, but the form of the South American outfit has raised hopes that the Super Eagles can end that run. Lionel Messi Argentina Croatia World Cup 2018 Despite counting Lionel Messi among their number, Jorge Sampaoli's side have picked up just one point from their two games thus far, including an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Croatia on Thursday. However, Mikel is aware that recording the victory his side require will be no easy task. "I think they have played well. It's going to be a tough and difficult game for us." Both Nigeria's clash with Argentina and Iceland's match with Croatia take place simultaneously at 7:00pm BST (2:00pm ET) on Tuesday June 26. |

Martz101: It was a good move to bring ighalo in. Ighalo is not a bad player it's just that he's not suitable for counter attack because of his pace. Nacho was tired. Simy would have been a good go too with specific instruction to press them into making mistakes at the back. |

To those who think Rohr put fear into our players read this : Speaking inside the Volgograd Arena, Omeruo praised the Gernot Rohr led coaching crew “We had worked really hard on how we expected Iceland to play, we watched loads of their clips and spoke clearly on what our roles were going to be especially at set-pieces. We are happy it worked out very well in the end”. Victor Moses had, perhaps predictably, provided Ahmed Musa with the assist for the first goal, it was Omeruo who set up his fellow AFCON ’13 winner for the second goal. Was he aware of this his ‘Assist’? Cue laughter from the big centre back. “To be honest I was not even aware. I just hit the ball in behind the defenders into the area I know Ahmed (Musa) likes to run into and thankfully he did the rest”. That second half start? Again, praise for Rohr “the coach pushed us. He told us that we needed to push more, to be more aggressive in going forward and for us to win more of our individual duels and take the game to them. I believe that was what got us the victory today”. |

I have this feeling that if we scaled this group stage, we would make it past the round of 16. But sha, make we play Argentina first. |
