chimzyblack: Lies! When Iwobi came on he had the chance to pass for at least one player in the box but opted to shoot. You guys just underrate Etebo, he was the only player from a losing team to make it into team of the week. You don't value what you got till it's imported. 4 Likes |

Odunayaw: The key still false on discipline play. Just I will point at Onazi or Echiejile leaving gaps. I will always look for areas we can improve. Musa was wrong not passing. Lucky he scored but it does not change the fact he was wrong not to pass. In this picture Tevez took the Initiative to shoot and score but that was the wrong option. Passing to CR7 was the better choice. Look at Rooney's hand direction.

TheLoneCitizen:Ighalo was the person that killed that attack not iwobi, Ighalo held on to the ball for too long he should not have even passed the ball to Iwobi there was a musa lurking around but he instead allowed the iceland defence to recover before passing the ball. 1 Like |

safarigirl: Of course! Enyeama was relegated to the bench for Austin Ejide when Berti came as a coach. We have 180 million population and there was no census done to conclude only me have reservation. Was there? So, if we discover a better goalkeeper afterwards because new coach rarely change no 1 goalies, we should ignore such talent because he is no 1 goalie? Ezenwa no bi no 1 before? Akpeyi no bi no 1 before? As em take be no 1 na em another better one go be no 1. This is life. 4 Likes |

chimzyblack: Definitely Ighalo held on for too long, but why did the appraised Iwobi shoot from outside the box, the same thing Etebo had done. Wasn't it blocked all the same, Etebo is almost two times the player Iwobi is. He is an all-rounder. |

Odunayaw: Failure can happen but doing things the right way gives the side a better chance of winning. It is not individual moments that count but the sum of all actions. |

Something tells me that if Vicmo had aimed that cross intentionally to Musa, Musa would have outran the ball. He usually plays at a pace too fast for our team. That goal yesterday was a masterpiece comparable to Denis Bergkamp's beautiful goal against Argentina at France 98. |

Argentina Legend Ardiles Blasts Sampaoli, Players Ahead Of Nigeria Clash June 23, 2018 10:22 am Argentina 1978 World Cup jero and Tottenham Hotspur legend Ossie Ardiles has launched a scathing attack on Albiceleste coach Jorge Sampaoli after his team’s humiliating 3-0 defeat to Croatia on Thursday. The defeat to Croatia in their second Group D game of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, means Argentina no longer have their destiny in their own hands and could go out at the group stage for only the second time in 56 years. They must now beat Nigeria in St Petersburg next Tuesday and hope Iceland fail to get anything against Croatia. According to The Mirror, Ardiles,65, claimed the “prestige” hard won by past Argentinian sides over decades had been tossed away carelessly by Sampaoli’s players and the current administration. He also insisted the team’s decline since the 2014 World Cup – when they finished runners-up – had been disguised by the “unrivalled genius” of Lionel Messi. “From world champion to being the worst national team in Argentina history. Where to begin?” Ardiles began. “Sampaoli: Dreadful. Finished his cycle insulting the Croatian players. Arrogant, ignorant. Even having the best player in the world was not capable of creating a competitive team. Never the same 11 during his tenure. “Plan A of Sampaoli: Give the ball to Messi and wait for a miracle. If Plan A doesn’t work, Plan B. Errr. There is no plan B. Let alone plan C or D. “Defensively: Make fouls. Wherever it is and regardless of the circumstances, or the consequences.” On his views about the players, he said: “To be playing outside of Argentina does not mean they are elite players. Many of them were not even starters in their own teams. “The prestige acquired over the years especially by the two world champion teams thrown overboard. “Embarrassing also the “bullying” of our most experienced players: Mascherano, Otamendi. The incident with Rakitic. Please Otamendi: Apologise.” Ardilles however absolved Lionel Messi – of any blame, insisting the five-time Balon D’Or winner could not solve the country’s problems by himself. He added: “All the Argentinian decline of recent times was hidden by this unrivalled genius who we are lucky was born in Argentina. But even for him it was too much at the end of the day. Leo: Many thanks for everything. And good luck in your future.” https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/argentina-legend-ardiles-blasts-sampaoli-players-ahead-of-nigeria-clash/ |

Mikel To Croatia Coach: Play Your Best 11 Against Iceland June 23, 2018 9:45 am Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi has called on Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic to be professional and not rest players against Iceland in their final Group D game at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, reports Completesportsnigeria.com. The Croats are already through to the knockout stages after winning their opening two games against Iceland Argentina. The Super Eagles bounced back from the defeat against Croatia by edging out Iceland 2-0 on Friday and a win or draw against Argentina in their final group game will be enough for them to move into the second round depending on the outcome of the game between Croatia and Iceland. Dalic hinted after the 3-0 win against Argentina on Thursday that he will rest some of his top stars for the game against Iceland next Tuesday, a decision Mikel is not happy with. “I think it’s not the right decision in this situation. This is a giant race and you can not rest men. You do not have to give other teams a better chance to move on,” Mikel told reporters after his team’s win against Iceland “They should showcase professionalism and play their best team. This is too big a stage to be resting players.” https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/mikel-to-croatia-coach-play-your-best-11-against-iceland/ |
