Kog45:it depends on what you call a high profile striker... to me for a striker to have scored 7 goals for an average team in a league like seria A where you have some tough defenders...and even against juventus scored a CR7 kind of goal...tells alot about his abilities... I rate him highly compare to Ighalo... |

Odunayaw:He is just being academic. It's not even in accord with commonsense. Musa scored the goal. That's all that matters! The talk about 'doing things the right way' in this context is arid idealism. Goal wey dem don score na im person dey bewail against saying a pass to Iheanacho is the right thing to do. What if Iheanacho misses? This talk I must say with respect doesn't hold water. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

TheGoodJoe:'Passing would have increased our chance to score. Even though he scored, Musa took the harder and less safe option' Gerrit? This is the comment I responded to. No coach with a whiff of intelligence in his brain will tell Musa to pass the ball in that situation next time. If that situation plays out a million times Musa should play that ball and not pass to anybody. Did you not see him pause for a fraction of a second to pick his angle before shooting? Do you know that that was a 'moment'? Footballers can sense a goal moment and that was one! The question you have not been able to answer is:what if he had passed then or even next time(as per the coach's instructions) and the person he passed to, misses? Such a crucial match fa. Kai I read your one time (xavi interview if I recall correctly) that Gaurdiola though dictates everything his players do from their own box till into half of the opponents, he nevertheless gives his players total freedom to do whatever they like once they are in the 18 yard box of the opponent? 5 Likes 1 Share |

Mujtahida: A sane striker in such a position won't pass Besides, those clamouring for him to pass to iheanacho, want d latter name to be registered with a goal in dis competition, maybe to spite ighalo , Let him wait for his turn,he will score too 8 Likes 1 Share |

elyte89:I sensed that undertone. When that guy scored against athletico goodjoe did not come to say he should have passed the ball to his teammates.. Players do it all the time. Michael Owen's goal against Argentina at France 98 WC is one of the best goals ever scored in a WC. He could have passed. He didn't. The most important thing is that he scored. Finito! The talk no even make sense to me one bit. Maradona goal's of the century, na so buruchagga and another Argentina player tanda for correct position to score but Maradona knew it was a goal moment. If he had passed the ball and buruchagga even scored, the world would have been denied the opportunity of seeing such a wonderful goal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojL7p4vR8bU 4 Likes 1 Share |

elyte89: Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho played only the last seven minutes of Manchester City’s away league clash with Stoke City, but it was his assist that helped Nolito confirm victory for Pep Guardiola’s side. Iheanacho worked the ball past two Stoke defenders before passing the ball to a teammate. When he received it back, he rounded goalkeeper Shay Given. However, with the ball to his weaker right foot, the angle acutely narrow and two defenders recovering to block the goal mouth, Iheanacho squared the ball to the better-placed Nolito, and the former Celta Vigo striker made no mistake from close range to move the scoreline to 3-1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U2y1d2Ajeo 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe is becoming more of a British analyst who only see things from a single angle. He reminds me of a certain Michael Owen who played down one of Nacho's goals instead of praising his brilliance in taking that curler from outside the 18 yard box. He kept saying he should have passed to gray because he was better positioned. Musa scored and that's all that matters. He did it in style and so deserves all the praise. No need to check and analyze an alternate route that does not guarantee a goal. What if he passed it to Nacho and while trying to hit it he shoots it against the defender/goalkeeper or even falls or Musa himself hits the pass to much and ends bouncing off Iheanacho's feet. Maybe that his when you would have appreciated Musa's ingenuity. That goal was class. Finito(in TheGoodJoe's voice) 10 Likes |

AIG07: I praised Musa for the goal and genuinely celebrated the win. I just said Rohr should work on Musa passing to the player in better option for next time sake. Just as we hammered on Moses to reduce his selfish play. I wonder why something as simple as that should be a problem. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:you are looking at this picture alone,, their are different angles you could have used. 1) the position of the defenders are not seen I this picture 2) the goal post is not seen, how do you now want to judge if anyone of them is in the right position. Take a look this screenshot don't mind the quality. I feel Musa was still in the best position. 2 Likes

Argentina players 'will decide team' for World Cup clash with Nigeria as camp descends into anarchy with boss Jorge Sampaoli stripped of power Giusti said: 'The players will decide the team, that's a fact. If Sampaoli wants to sit in the bench, he can do it. If not, no problem.' Sampaoli was reported to be in talks with Argentine FA president Claudio Tapia late on Saturday night but looked like keeping his job, though having to take account of the players' concerns. Messi and Javier Mascherano, as the senior players, would be most likely to be consulted to revive the campaign, with Argentina needing a win over Nigeria to take second place in the group, assuming that Iceland don't beat Croatia and better Argentina's goal difference. wwwdotdailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5878183/amp/Argentina-players-decide-team-World-Cup-clash-Nigeria-camp-descends-anarchy.html 2 Likes |

If we go back to watch the first goal, we can all see that Musa won the air ball contest in the middle which was then passed to Moses before making the run straight into the box. He was everywhere that day. tbaba1234: 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:baba I am tell you at the point he scored the goal he was in the best position. Why are you even hitting hard on this passing to iheanacho.. With two men to beat and a wide net with the ball on my stronger foot I wouldn't pass the ball to KC. just a split second and that goal opportunity could be over. At that position Musa was the defenders will never have predicted where the ball could end. Passing the ball to KC buys them time and closes the angle based on where KC was positioned. 1 Like |
