safarigirl:If a team set out to mark a player, they will do with great aplomb even with average players. Have you seen the way Arjen Robben was marked out by them in the last worldcup? And no, the argentines aint rubbish. They aint just co-ordinated enough. And who's Iheanacho? The one that was of no threat against Iceland and was losing possession cheaply? Abeg. 1 Like |

diadem10:Everyone knows this is a fallacious oddity. Ighalo contributes minimally in the coordination and build up due to how hard it is to locate him with a pass based on his positioning at the back of defenders unlike ihenacho. When last did he score, assist or contribute in goal build up? Stop making a joke of yourself and don't forget those binoculars when watching a game next time. 6 Likes |

The Argentine team to face Nigeria will be selected by Messi and Mascherano as sampaoli has bn striped off his title. Let's hit these guys hard even though I am a Messi fanboy, my country comes first. Besides Messi doesnt know I exist 2 Likes |

diadem10:Ihenacho atleast ensures the team has 10 players against 10 unlike with Ighalo were his wrong positioning and minimal participation, makes it 9 vs 10 in-field players. Mikels back passes were for co-ordination purpose when there was no clean path forward. Somehow you were blind during the numerous moments he spread long balls forward. Also he makes/ made more accurate forward pocket passes than Etebo from the same position. And a better supporter of playmates and anchor play dictator than Ogu. 3 Likes |

Am I the only one still not sold on Rohr as a good coach? It took outcry from other coaches and ex-footballers for him to do the right thing. If he couldn't decipher the right tactics by himself without imput from Mourinho and the likes, then we are in for a long thing my friends Anyways, best player in the match wouldn't be Musa, in fact he has been pencilled down and if Messi, Ronaldo and other great footballers have been successfully marked out in times past, I believe the Argentine already have a plan for him. If I were in Rohr's shoes, I wouldn't start Musa and iheanacho, I'd go with simy and ighalo or iwobi and simy. Trust me just like the Icelandic coach, sampaoli wouldn't see it coming. I have strong feeling that if we stick to the tactics we used against Iceland and same set of players we started the match with, we'll get beaten black and blue and will end our campaign on a sour note. Just my opinion guys 1 Like 2 Shares |

princfred: Did Ogu even play? Lol. Ighalo was more of a threat than Nacho. Even the iceland players were wary of him. I can't imagine the lot of iceland players he took out with his presence. Anyway, I aint advocating for Ighalo per se but just speaking the truth as usual. I admit his decision making wasn't the best but he was a threat. I'm no sentimental fool as you can see. 1 Like |

darkelf:why will you play Ighalo at all? If you want a change, then don't start Idowu, start Ebuehi in Idowu's position, maybe drop Kelechi for Iwobi or Etebo for Ogu. Nothing should ever make anyone reason starting Ighalo for us. 4 Likes |

Is it not about time Victor Moses sits on the bench to figure out what he is at the world cup to do? That short man has continued to stifle Nigeria attack of any life left in it. I am completely depressed whenever he is on the field....If he is not falling with a little touch ,he is dribbling nonsense when he is not dribbling his forefathers out of space he is ballooning the ball. I am tired and frustrated with Victor Moses. And let me hear anybody call him the star player of the team. That AKPUDA contributes lameness to the team. Whenever he has the ball his first instinct is to dribble and we all can count on our fingers how many times Victor Moses has had a successful dribble that resulted into a goal...VicMo is TRASH and he is not gonna improve. And dinosaur Rohr will not do the needful and bench he ,rather he will add spineless Ighalo and keep Iwobi on the bench. The problem,of Super Eagles now is the coach, the danm coach!! He needs to be fired ASAP. |

TheGoodJoe: So sir what do you want us to do? Go back to replay the match and ask Musa to start all over again so that he can pass to Iheanacho? Meaning FiFa should cancel the win and reschedule a new match? Why are you dwelling on recooking a cooked rice? 2 Likes 1 Share |

somehow: My point is so simple, so I wonder why you are asking the above. Rohr should talk to Musa about passing to the player in a better position for next time sake. Is this so difficult to understand? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 10:40am On Jun 24, 2018 |
LieDetector: We played in a conservative way in the Croatian game what Boss Icon4s said is very through. With Moses and Possibly Ebuehi taking the wing back role, if our mobile attackers in Nacho and Musa are closely marked, it will create room for the wing backs to cause damage. He is very spot on. |
