The Genesis Of The Massacre In Plateau by yashedabai(m): 5:52am On Jun 26, 2018
A resident of the crises area Mustapha Gembu took to his Facebook handle to share the root cause of the recent culmination in Plateau State.

The below series of unprovoked attacks by Birom's tribes men on fulanis across Plateau state, incurred the wrath of the herdsmen to take a deadly reprisals attacks across Barikin Ladi LGA of Plateau that resulted to wiping off of 11 Birom's villages across the region.

1. On the 8th of June Four young Fulani men coming back from Kara Cattle market in Bukuru were shot immediately after Kassa Hill Military check point, less than 2Km from the check point.

2. Over 300 COWS were rustled between Fan, Dorowa and Jong Villages of Barkin Ladi LGA and Kadunu/Langai villages of Mangu LGA, when Military were sent to rescue and recover the COWS they received strong resistance from the armed Berom COW rustlers with even reports of some security men losing their lives. Up to date they’ve not been recovered.

3. On 12th of June at around 8pm some Fulani people of Quanpan LGA of plateau State coming back from Bukuru Kara market were shot at Kassa hill before Barikin Ladi LGA secretariat unfortunately one of them lost his life.

4. On June 13th a minor Jaafar Salihu herding his parents COWs, was killed at Nding Village also around Kassa hill and they removed his head till date the head wasn't recovered, he was buried like that.

5. Then the last aggression took place on Jun 21st at about 6pm Some Fulani men Bala, Lawal and Ibrahim Kuwait on their way coming back from Kara market in Bukuru were shot, killed and their vehicle was set ablaze at Heipang village to be precise inside the railway round about, pictures attached.

6. A day after Sallah Jun 16th 2018 at about 14:00 hours some Hausa Boys of Barikin Ladi town driving a Vectra Opel vehicle with reg number JJN 54 CF heading to Mangu LGA narrowly escaped death with minor and major injuries and the car wrecked, as Berom youths launched an attacked on them in front of the Military Check point, what’s their offence? Ans: They are Muslims and the berom youths want to avenge an attack on some villages made by Fulani herders.

7. On Saturday 23rd Jun 2018 the people of Mangu blocked the highway and said nobody is going to pass until justice is done to one of their men that was killed in a Berom community between Dorowa village and Mangu Hale, until his demise he was a butcher and he went to collect his money from one of his customers he gives meat, he was simply killed because he is Muslim and a herdsman?

I strongly condemned this barbaric act of endless committing of heinous crimes against humanity, ending the impunity is the only way out, I urge government to live up it expectations by bring to book any evil perpetrators irrespective of tribe or religion affiliations.

You people are enemies of progress and enemies of peace, there is no incident of farmers and herders in jos , if there was it's not common,
this is an issue that's been in existence for a very long time and needs a resolution

All of the above crimes were committed this year alone, probably that's the few he remembered , I have lived in Jos and Kaduna , i know how quickly they start something and run away

June 6th same Barkin Ladi boys killed 38 cows and injured 15 more , i knew fulani would retaliate so let's use our brains for once and find a lasting solution to enmity among tribes

if it does you any good, read how herders started killing , spoiler alert it's 1999

Lies from the pit of Hell. Bandits are now stronger than Military. It Marvel's me how someone is trying to justify this killings.

How about you guys keep your cattles in the North and stop destroying peoples farms.
You tresspass with your cows into peoples land and you expect them to welcome you with open arms
Not to even mention the rapes and killing of farm owners on their farm

I know this may be true but those berom youths have no sense

They should go and learn from those in southern Kaduna, kafanchan on how they flushed muslims in their area

But in other words, they all helped in killing innocent igbo people during the civil war

They should bear their cross
Re: The Genesis Of The Massacre In Plateau by coluka: 6:45am On Jun 26, 2018
All these is an attempt on damage control after Miyetti Allah spokesman claimed the killings were because of missing cows. Why did Miyetti Allah not talk about these so called killings yesterday if that was the reason? He is a full grown adult, He is one of the Fulani leaders so he should be aware of all these and yet he spent almost a full hour talking about how cows were killed and didn't mention a single Fulani person was killed?
I tell you what is happening, after seeing the backlash from that incredibly dumb interview by Miyetti Allah spokesman yesterday, the Fulani's are in full damage control mode and that's why you're suddenly seeing a lot of social media posts claiming that Fulani people were killed in unprovoked attacks by plateau youth. It's not a new tactic, one Nafesah used to do that for them here on nairaland

Live in denial all you want, motherfukka. Keep trying to bury the truth.

The fulani man only retaliates, and never attacks first.

The endless killings and provocation by the cannibal Beroms is legendary and well known. It's always relegated as a footnote in the media. It barely gets to front page on Nairaland and even when it does, your type make silly negative comments and move on.

Well welcome to the new reality.

Someone did warn that the fulanis would retaliate.

Benue has been a bit quiet because the natives are learning their lesson.

What are they doing in Berom homeland? Why are they here and not in their homeland in Libya?

Berom are right for killing foreign invaders on their land.

The cow herders should raise money and try ranching, if anyone try to steal at ranch, shoot and kill them simple.
The Nigerian government should look at how it's done in other countries and adopt a model, I sympathise with both side 'cause they are all trying to survive.

When your victims overpower you, why do you run to hide in barracks after calling for Army backup?

I'm totally against how fulanis wander all over the place with their herd, blocking roads and destroying farms.

This post reeks of wickedness and evil propaganda. How on earth will you justify the killing of over 200 people by sighting cattle rustling as reference? No one knows a better Amala than the Yorubas, no one knows the usefullness of ofe nsala than the Igbos, and no one knows the preparation of fura de nunu better than the Hausas, Who do you think these cattle rustlers are if not the lazy ones among the fulani's? You can't just go about stealing cattle in large scale without knowing much about cattle rearing, which i believe the Fulanis mostly specialize on apart from politics.

I could remember last year when these same Fulani cattle rearers almost destroy an entire cassava plantation that my friend spent his time and money on.
