Look what I found on sofascore. I'd so love this if it turns out to be true. Sofascore's team line up most times are correct. I hope it's correct today. 3 Likes

GBU there, my brother!!! You nailed it right there! It's the whole media bias that turned me into an unrepentant Messi fanatic. Take for instance, when Messi lost a penalty, it was portrayed as the worst thing that has ever happened in the game of football. To hear the way they piled on, it was as if Leo Messi is the first top player to ever miss a penalty in the World Cup. And by the way, this Cristiano's miss is as big if not bigger than Messi's miss. Cristiano has potentially cost his country a potential quarter finals finish. I mean, let's face it, they should've been favored against Russia but I don't see them getting a result against Uruguay. Uruguay ain't gonna be as "charitable" as either Iran or Spain. To me, the round of 16 would be the end of the road for Cristiano and Portugal at this world cup. O pari Odunayaw: 5 Likes |

Rohr: ''The set-pieces are scored everywhere, not only against us. I watch the matches of other teams, there are goals from set-pieces, it's not only in our matches. ''In the friendly in Krasnodar, they scored from a set-piece, it was a free-kick, it was a gift because the goalkeeper, who believed it was offside, touched the ball with his hand outside the box. ''But we scored also from a nice free-kick from Iheanacho. It's not only African countries who have problems with set-pieces, Sweden conceded a goal against Germany last minute. ''We have to work on it, we do it in training. I saw that in the second game against the good players of Iceland especially in this situation, we were much better than in the first one, we are improving. ''I hope there will not be a penalty against us because my young players sometimes can make a mistake. I hope we will be okay defensively and better offensively,'' 3 Likes 1 Share |

And Achiles the cat believes/predict a super eagles win tonight Nigeria to send Messi and Argentina home - says Achilles the cat The 'psychic' cat has cast his prediction before the big Group D match The omens don't look good for Argentina and Lionel Messi before their final group match against Nigeria on Tuesday – if a "psychic" cat is to be believed. Messi and his teammates have had a rough time in Russia so far, drawing 1-1 with Iceland and getting thumped 3-0 by Croatia. And it isn't going to get any better according to Achilles the cat, who has been predicting winners and losers in the tournament from the comfort of the St Petersburg Hermitage museum. The cat, who is deaf and regarded as psychic, previously predicted outcomes during the 2017 Confederations Cup. This time around it has successfully chosen Russia to beat Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Iran to beat Morocco and Brazil to emerge victorious against Costa Rica – although that final result was almost a given. When the opportunity came to pick between Nigeria and Argentina, via two bowls of food placed in front of him with a flag above each, Achilles decided the Super Eagles would win by a nose. The trend for animal predictions become global news in 2010 when Paul the octopus correctly forecast Germany's matches and correctly picked Spain as winners. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/guardian.ng/life/cat-astrophe-for-argentina-as-cat-predicts-nigerias-win/amp 3 Likes |

Give us this day oh god of football. Put smiles on the faces of more than 190 million people whose passion for football is more than that of 48 million people in Argentina. Help us remember today as one of the best days being a Nigerian. Let everyone of us sleep well tonight let husbands be happy to go home to meet their wives and family let babies be formed during the midnight today out of joy let marriages be united and mended tonight through the super eagle's win over argentina. Even if it's a scoredraw, oh God of football, grant it unto us. We pray, hope and expect from you. Grant our wish. we have one voice, one hope and one aim, to qualify to the round of 16 tonight. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Actually, Messi is only 31 and Cristiano Ronaldo is almost 34. Hence, if Cristiano could do it at age 34, I don't see why Messi can't do it at age 35. My only concern is that the disorganization with the Argentina FA would force Messi to quit the national team again. That would be a big loss for world footie. O pari ykalhaji: 1 Like |

andrew444:Feel for Morocco for what? What were they doing or thinking in their first two games? They missed loads of chances. They never learnt from their unawareness in setpeices and they expect those no to haunt them? This is World Cup where every minute matters and not a league competition where you get to play several other games to clean up your mess. Did you score? How many did you score? Were you able to prevent or outscore your opponent? THats what football is all about. Nothing more nothing less. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon79(m): 2:23pm On Jun 26, 2018 |
My people, Nigeria vs Argentina is the MOST anticipated match of this world cup so far. Everybody wants to know if this is going to be Messi's last world cup match. And all the pundits at FOX Sports (including Guus Hiddink, who's usually fair and balanced) think that Messi is going pull it off, as he did during the qualifiers. But Clarence Seerdof is holding down the fort for Africa. He thinks that this Nigerian team is coming together and would squeeze through. And for that, I say, Clarence Seerdof for President!!!
