We were on the verge and we conceded a silly goal.

Nacho was poor but Ighalo wasn't the solution. Iwobi would have done better both attack wise and helping the Midfield to curtail Argentina.

They all went to sleep.

Mikel was telling them to press the Argentines back to their half, he even shew them but they were hell bent on defending. Rohr too didn't help matter. He refused to make necessary sub.

To warm bench of course.

With 5 minutes to go, we should have brought in Onazi and Joel for Mikel and Joel. Even use that to waste time.

Very annoying guy.

Can u imagine, he shud have even bro simy on to help ighalo and keep the argies on their back

No, not all were interested in defending. Moses was just strolling back and he could clearly see that Rojo was unmarked and didn't rush in to prevent a goal scoring opportunity. Only became interested when it was too late.

You want to kill moses abi? Go and watch that cliq again.

So to all on the thread. It was a nice ride, a nice year of back and forth from you guys, I really enjoyed every second of coming on here, anticipating your analysis, opinions, arguements, fights and yes abuses... Lol. It has come to an end now. Will not mention names but thanks to you all.

God bless us all in our future endeavours and if we catch each other on another Nairaland thread. Don't be shy to say Hi.

Forget handball, Ighalo should have finished the chance..

Games like this are determined by small margins. You need to take your chances

Forget indeed, but y do ur coach not take him off?

Hahahaha

I saw this coming

Our coach killed us and some people say let Rohr stay

Una never know anything

A better coach would've benched ighalo for the entire duration of the tournament

Now, let the cycle begins. Fire Rohr, hire another white onigbinde, go to another WC and crash out etc.

Hahaha. It's only begun. The blood of the wasted have cried out and it's come back to hunt us.

Get your country clean and right and see our sports become the epitome of excellence.

But no... If person talk for thread na I sukts upon insults.,........blind optimists that you people are

A few points...

- The boys played well and fought hard. Anybody could've given up that goal

- Igahlo better hide himself. Shameful display. Two chances and nothing to produce of it. Simply phucking disappointing. This shall be his last cap because we don't need his services anymore. We need to phase him out of SE.

- Uzoho is the way forward. Decent WC by him. I see a bright future ahead because he continually improves.

- Great 2nd goal by Argentina. Anybody could've conceded

- We must focus on AFCON and qualify for it and WIN IT (semis at least). We failed to go to the last two ones

- Rohr's judgement is still suspect. NFF should ponder on his future

- Let this be the start of an experiment. At the end of the day, our players are simply average on paper. Only 1 our guys plays champions league football. Compare this to the likes of the Argies, France, Croatia and many others. We need world class players. We need Nigerians becoming household names in the biggest clubs of Europe.

All in all I am very proud with the way the NFF handled our world cup preparations. Everything went on without a hitch (except for the Abdullahi incident) and all the funds were put in place. We ask as fans that this iniative and great leadership by NFF serve as a foundation for a huge turn around in Nigerian football.

O pari.

of course. Rohr is obviously tactically naive, that is why he played a striker as utterly useless as Ighalo in a must-win game.

Utterly useless!
Iheanacho wasn't any better in the first half either.

Very annoying.
Lol

Imagine a Rojo wey no get balls, come dey Throway us for world cup? very annoying. Ighalo wanted to do just what Messi did tonight, I.e get his first goal in Russia!! Imagine if he just passed.

I didn't want to blame him, but in the long run, I'll have to. If he buried those two deliveries, the Argies would be more pressured to committing errors and we would just have defended. But Why didn't Rohr also tell his boys to just hold on for 10mins ehn? 10mins only!!!

The Ahmed Musa - Iheanacho pair was never good because both couldn't link up play. Based on attributes, Ighalo was the best to compliment either one of them. Iheanacho was rightly subbed as he was poor and Musa's pace was going to scare them.
Ighalo came and disappointed us all.

Thank God we are out, some people would have been advocating for Ighalo to start against France. Like he would ever score any goal. His miss today hurts me above Yakubu Aiyegbeni's miss against South Korea.

Today he killed us by missing two good chances.

He could have passed the second one instead of trying to score.

I give a big kudos to SE for their resilience but one cannot count out experience and insatiable hunger shown by the Argentines
Seem psychologically they edged us and we went with a bunch of rookies who showed panic and inexperience
Being a second half team is not good enough for the WC cuz it's for the big boys we have to raise our desire to win b4 the blast of the whistle.
Rohr has given us a foundation to build on and I hope the FA will retain him.
Am proud of all our players including the ones that missed the WC due to injury. We should start preparing for 2022 right away so we can present a formidable team for our qualifiers VIVA Super Eagles!

this is like saying because PDP was corrupt, we shouldn't expect anything from APC

Ighalo was brought in to do better than Kelechi, but as usual, we are back to comparing him with Kelechi, because Kelechi is the GOAT of this team, abi?

Forget the hand ball by Rojo if Ighalo has scored would we be saying handball.

That open goal that Ighalo missed is unforgivable.

Match against Croatia was our undoing

2022 at sight

Happy retirement to Simy, echiejile, onazi and akpeyi

Rohr should stay!

The world cup is over free the guy. You have not talked about anybody else I think you are being unfair. Players like Iheanacho and Iwobi flopped also. If we don't call Ighalo again that's fine by me but the bashing is too much.

The man sat on his hands and did nothing. He was not smart at all.
He has been exposed this world cup. Tactically average. There was no excuse not to make a sub. I saw him earlier on motioning to the team to press. Sitting back and inviting pressure was a very bad idea
