We missed the last two. Better we succeed and try to win it rather than wallow in failure and continue to sink in rankings. Not taking AFCON seriously won't do us any good.
Since they've been winning it, who e epp? Did the winners of the last one go-to world cup?

And the winner of most of the afcon, see how they were shown the door onyop all the Salah wey dem get. who again epp?

Drawing board calls. Let's just answer it so that all we would be playing for will just be Pride and pride alone.

Commiserations guys

We played okay. Our tactical discipline surprised me. The game could have gone either way. Argentina had Messi, Aguero, Higuain, were all on the pitch at the same time, they were ruffled!

After seeing the comments here I must add that Ighalo played okay, his performance was an improvement on Iheanacho's. Everyone misses chances.

What we must do now is continue building from here. We are on to a good thing. No knee jerk reactions throwing the baby out with the bath water moves. Hopefully the NFf board stays and Rohr stays for the next tournament (AFCON 2019). If the team continues to improve then extend his tenure to 2022.

Congratulations guys at least we now have a squad and we can tweak it slowly depending on the opposition and situation.

And you "most skillful striker" was useless. Deal with it. At least we ain't gonna blame the midfielders for him been starved.

Salute What?

It was just one job - Don't Lose.

In a time of crisis for Argentina, these chickens were still giving useless respect to those S.americans who don't deserve it.

Ighalo and Iheanscho showing their level of uselessness..

Simple delay tactics, they couldn't do it... See the way Argentina murdered the remaining time after scoring.

Honestly, I couldn't understand why we no waste time with substitutes and feigning injury at the slightest touch.

Balogun did well today. Our midfielders and forwards relaxed after the penalty was disallowed. That put too much pressure on the defense line.
Balogun did okay but he was suspect on a number of occasions. I guess he can't give what he doesn't have.

Ighalo was useless in front of goal. If he buried just one chance, we go qualify.

But after, he missed, Rohr should have brought on a fresh defensive midfield to add steam to the midfield because Etebo and Mikel were too tired but Rohr refused. Maybe he took only first eleven to the world Cup because bench e no wan use.
I'm shocked at Mikel playing 90Mins too.

But Who knows just why that stupid decision held.

Its about time we close this danm thread.

Look at the name of the thread again,,,,two items are remaining

Meanwhile i was thinking that Idowu and Etebo were getting tired...that fresh legs like Iwobi and Ebuehi should have entered...

For me Rohr stays to complete his contract....for one thing...he brought organisation in our play and gave us a style of play...3-5-2

Musa's hardwork was wasted.

He could have gone 1 on 1, but he chose to pass all of them, and we didn't convert any. It's such a pity.

But we bowed out gallantly!

Shebi icon4s was attacking Musa here the other day that the best is to pass to people who have forgotten how to score rather than go solo.

Our squad was never and isnot world class. We are over-average and some players aren't just good enough.

To think they were compared to 1994

Rohr should go, too conservative and contrary to some opinions isn't tactical. I'll help him pack his bags from Russia

The Argentina domination continues, all thanks to rohrand his mentally weak players

Which most skillful striker? I hope you have evidence I made this statement?
By the way, were you honestly expecting this team to make semi-finals of the world cup?
Wake up and smell the coffee. This team is bang average and I dare say the least talented set of players Nigeria has ever paraded in a world cup, from goalkeeper to the last member of the team . I stand to be corrected.

How many of our players can make that Leicester team team that won the league? I understand what you mean. But before you can pull the kind of stunt that Leicester pulled, you need to have above average players. Leicester players are no walk overs.

Yes, i also agree that we were complacent which is also due to the kind of players we have and other factors such as coaching and technicality.
where did Vary, Kante, Morgan came from? They were all unknown... Same players who fought hard not to be relegated came to win the league.

Victory is first won in the mind!

Our players were just so timid. Take your time and watch the match again.

It's just kinda obligatory to heap the blame on the coach, but in this case I won't watch and see anybody so that right here.

Ighalo is very much the scapegoat.

Ighalo should be blamed but the coach should not be spared either.

Guy shut down Mikel was pressing since first half.

He was pressing but he was not ahead of Iheanacho. I have repeated this same thing over again. When once Mikel is pressing ahead of the striker repeatedly, it means the midfield has lost its shape.

I'm not doubting what you're saying. What i'm simply saying is that it will be better to actually have better players rather than depend greatly on the mind. The only reason Argentina won apart from the fact that they were better than us psychologically but because they had superior players who can change the course of any game.

Iwobi for Mikel. even if it's to just advice him to defend instead, he could do it well. Urrgh.

We were on the verge and we conceded a silly goal.

Nacho was poor but Ighalo wasn't the solution. Iwobi would have done better both attack wise and helping the Midfield to curtail Argentina.

They all went to sleep.

Mikel was telling them to press the Argentines back to their half, he even shew them but they were hell bent on defending. Rohr too didn't help matter. He refused to make necessary sub.
We crashed out right from the first match bro. If we had gotten something from that game this Argentina match would most certainly be a mere formality.

After the draws for our group was made I expected Rohr to gauge his chances of picking the necessary I points amongst the other teams in the group and pursue it.

Rohr had no plans. He was bereft of ideas going into this tournament despite the number of friendlies and tactical experimentation. And it became obvious when he released his lineup against Croatia.

Why ignore neglect something that is working for you like magic??

Why keep playing Shehu ahead of Tyrone?

It never a debate that Tyrone is much better than Shehu.

Iwobi is the answer to our AM issues going to Russia.

The 352 is ideal. Its too essential to this team for it to be overlooked.

But the dude still played the useless 4-2-3-1 that never yields results. Pushing Iwobi to one side as a winger, lost the match and expecting to beat or expect something iceland and a Messi- led Argentina in the final game.

Rohr left it too late. He practically started his own World Cup in the second game against Iceland. The first two games were his biggest chances.
Even a kid knows that
