If we are still hoping on players who are past there sell by date then forget Nigerian football. Martins Are you serious? If we dont have any better strikers or footballers from Nigeria thrn we are doomed. Forget Obi and concentrate on young hungry blood even if you have to find them playing under a bridge somewhere in lagos forgiveness: 1 Like |

Absolutely gutted for Senegal bowing out of the competition on yellow cards. Best African team by a country mile. They and Morroco deserved to go through. |

Ibrahim 'muazam' ALHASSAN joins Portuguese top division side, Maritimo on a four year deal. Not a bad move. My opinion 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Yes, it was definitely a missed opportunity but, hey, it happens. Even the best players in the world miss good chances. I mean, those of us who have played this game know that putting the ball in the net is the most difficult thing to do in the game. As I told one of the wailers on twitter, apples to apples, I was actually more disappointed on Kelechi Iheanacho in that game because he was either anonymous, keeps falling down, or giving the wrong pass. I expected much from Kelechi in this tournament but he just didn't show up. All in all, I just want the blame game to be over. I also have questions about the subs (or lack thereof) by Rohr in that game, the tactics, and even the formation but there's still no guarantee that we could've won even if he had done it my way. Truth is, Nigerians are just fond of looking for someone to blame whenever things go wrong. To this day, some folks are still blaming Clemence Westerhof for losing to Italy in 1994 world cup. Before you crucify Rohr, just remember that the man took a team that has FAILED to qualify for TWO consecutive AFCONS and got them to qualify for a world cup group death, with a game to spare! So the man must have done something right, don't you think O pari Certitude: 2 Likes |

Senegal should've qualified against Japan but they let the opportunity slip. I told them on Sunday that Senegal would be going home .... I was quite sure that they wouldn't get a result against this very good Colombian team. Japan was lucky twice: - the silly red card in the Colombia game - the defensive naiveté of the Senegalese O pari krattoss: |

African teams have a very low IQ when it comes to football. They are all messed up and not wise. How many times do we have to blame the referee for everything? I am just sick and tired of the stupidity. 4 Likes |

After overcoming this big disappointment and the anger it caused me, I am having a rethink. I think we should keep Rohr as the coach, then get a capable replacement for Salisu in Finidi, Amunike, Siasia or mutiu. We should rather do away with the dead woods such as Onazi, obi Joel, Akpeyi, Ezenwa, Ighalo, elderson than sack Rohr. Give ikouwem and deji chances. Select amongst, Osigwe, Alampasu, Okoye and Akpan for back ups to Uzoho. Bring in KC Nwakali and other good youngsters in place of the dead woods. Plz Chidi Nwakali aint ready yet, only his younger bro looks ready. I pray he(KC Nwakali) joins Porto for the champions League next season too. Take Shehu to the midfield because with Moses Odubajo going to celtic, our RB is overfloating. If Agu breaks into Porto first team, give him one more chance. The likes of kayode et al should be vying for our striking shirt not people like Ighalo. We should maintain our 352 just get Musa a better partner. Try luring the German CBs once again. Also give Iorfa a chance if he regains his shirt at wolves. 3 Likes |

Oasis007: I have said it before the most important thing in football is OPPORTUNITY. Who we give opportunity is as important as the basis for that opportunity. I can select 10 players that play in England lower league that will do better or comparably. But they will not be given opportunity because they are in lowly league 1 or 2 which are higher than the second tier of Dutch football and or Scottish football. One good game doesn't make a player it's a season of consistent top class performances. Particularly with regards to end of season non competitive friendly in Uyo. These two boys have been in Europe for two years plus but have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING OUTSTANDING. They are playing in a league rated way lower than the Turkish league and they are not even outstanding in those moi moi teams and leagues. Meanwhile they are both 20 years + SE selection should be a reflection of outstanding performance or clear established potential. Certainly not on past youthful glories of yester years. You can not make double standards for selection. |
