Nigeria and Senegal were stupid. How can a team that needs to win or draw be defending? Why not attack and pass the ball to keep them in chasing mode? angry

Senegal out of the world cup based on Yellow cards conceded.

Japan 4yellow cards
Senegal 6yellow cards.

This is a ridiculous way of existing a tournament.
There is nothing ridiculous here.

The rules have always been there.

Senegal have only themselves to blame,

Nobody on your list was home based ooo

phase1:
African teams need to go back to the drawing board and give their hungry home based players a chance at international competitions.

Most of their Europe-based players are not usually hungry and the responsibility to perform is too huge for them.

African performed better at the world stage when they when with homebased hungry players Roger milla, Yekini, amokachi, Diouf, Diop and co.

Japan makes it to round 16 based on fair play.
Well if this rule isn't in FIFAS hand book, then Senegal should make a protest now.

This is a lie. They gave them 4 minutes. I don't know why Africans always scream racism when their mediocrity comes to fore. Accept it, Africans are at the bottom pole of every developmental and progressive indices in this World. That is how it has always been.

but as at 2014 in this situation the referee would have tossed a coin
Exactly! But FIFA now want to promotes the fair play rules. This would teach other teams lesson to play with sense and stop collecting unnecessary cards.

Kai painful Senegal and Japan finished level on points, goal differential, goals scored and head-to-head, but Japan finished with four bookings to Senegal’s six.

What are fair play ranking points?

If the points, goal difference, goals scored and goals against stays the same (ie. if they draw) then fair play rules will come into play.

The rules state that over the course of the three group games:

sides lose one point per yellow card
three points are lost for a red card (two yellows)
they lose four points for a direct red

Very correct.
remember what Odion Ighalo said.....that even though he's sad we didn't qualify , he's happy he didn't suffer injury.
he's more careful about avoiding injury and going back to China to continue picking his cash

Guy, when dem born you?

Roger Milla was not homebased

Yekini was not homebased

Yekini moved to Victoria setubal from Africa after performing at the 1994 world cup.

Morever the few African players in Europe were paid peanuts as at then. So the hunger was still there.

A good number of the 1994 super eagles were largely based at home in Africa.

''Senegal go out on yellow cards. Salif Sané and Idrissa Gueye were booked in the first game. Youssouf Sabaly, Cheikh N'Doye and M'Baye Niang were shown yellow in the second. Niang was booked again today. Two of those bookings in the second game came in the 90th and 91st minute.''

Above is the reason why Senegal did not qualify and not any nonsensical conspiracy theory.....Nigeria didnt qualify because of poor game management. Simple

Well that's good you made the right financial decision on your betting ticket, I don't do any kind of betting so I purely watch football for entertainment and not for financial gains or reasons, I support my team first off all then when it comes to neutral teams, I generally support the team who plays better or an underdog.
