well to all those who are shouting for home base players, well let me tell you 3 reasons why coaches prefer foreign base players to your local home base boys
1. inexperience :-

2. inferiority complex :-

3. glory hunters :-

There is no cheating there. And there the tackle against Mane in box 18 was fair. Does he not have legs to shoot the ball rather than diving? You heard additional time was 2 mins. That is a lie, it is 4 minutes and it was complete. Must it always be us? complain complain complain, as if other countries making it got two heads.
Oga, they have already cleared the issue here. didn't you read other comments before you quoted me. Thanks for your response by the way.

I am not disputing your submission. For the super eagles of 1994 most of them got contract to play in Europe when the won the 1994 AFCON
in January that same year, few months later they were playing in the world cup. My submission was that..

1.) African player were not well paid in Europe compared with their European counterparts.

2) The hunger was still there. Few months between Jan '94 AFCON glory and June '94 world cup final is not significant enough to douse motivation.

Ighalo have been earning millions in naira years before he played this world cup where he simply went for fashion parade and to see him self on stadium TV screens. The source of his motivation is no longer there. So why would he perform?

I just hope you get my point.

I agree with your point number 2. Any evidence to back point number 1?

I really think African teams are in deep mess......how can you be depending on penalties to score in every match you play? why do we always find reasons to blame FIFA and referees after each game that did not go our way?..........I really think age and mentality is the difference here...........how can you approach a match with a ' let us play out a draw' mentality?........over-aged players everywhere (they can not even run).........I WEEP FOR AFRICA! OH MY AFRICA!!!

Bro, African players were the poorest paid in the 80s and early 90s, even the clubs usually refused to disclose publicly how much they pay their African players until FiFa stepped in.

One of the issues Yekini had with Victoria setubal was money issues. He was made to sign a contract written in Portuguese in 1994 for peanuts when he discovered he signed an 'enslavement' contract. It became an issue.

Senegal eliminated because they had 6 yellow cards compared to Japan's 4 yellow cards

Same goals scored. Same goal difference. Head to head, they played a 2-2 draw

resurgent2019:
The black man has a concentration problem known as concentration deficit disorder.

I do not blame whites when they look down on the black man. What have we achieved for ourselves as a race?

The truth is bitter but it has to be said. I just knew within me that Senegal will concede a goal and it happened—same with the Nigeria match too.

So fellow AFRICANS, do not ever get angry when a white man looks down on you. They have ample justification to denigrate a black man.

I agree, we haven't achieved anything. There's nothing we have built and offered to the world to use. We only consume what white-skinned people build.

However, I'm not in consonance that we shouldn't be angry when white-skinned people dismiss us as good for nothings. I think we should be angry, but at ourselves. We should not be angry at white-skinned people, but at our poor selves.

Being angry, at ourselves, is what will drive us and challenge us to get better.

I will add that the youth of Africa must rise up and accept this challenge. The old men have failed. They chose to fail because they don't have much time to live on earth.

Buhari, for instance, is old and won't be around much longer. He cares less about what will happen to Nigeria in the next 5 to 10 years, precisely because he'd be dead by then.

It therefore behooves the African youth, with many years ahead, to stand up and forcefully snatch the mantle of leading Africa from the failed, tired, lazy, and incompetent old African men - slowpokes that have ran the continent aground.

.

Chief, we must work with evidence-based conclusions. Based on this, provide evidence on how African players were the poorest paid.

Otherwise, how can I agree with you when there is no empirical evidence?
