phase1:You are right but hope you know most of these foreign based players once played for local leagues? Yes you can train the local ones to represent you in the world cup, but what if they get the fame and foreign clubs want to buy them, do your country have enough funds to keep them in the local clubs? Will these players refuse a weekly wage of fifty to hundred thousand pounds( 35 million naira) weekly and 120million monthly pay from an European club to the 250 thousand naira a month you pay them in the local league? I don't think they will. The problem is deeper than you think 1 Like |

baum1: I don't need much to prove to you. I have given you historical inferences to prove that European clubs hardly paid Africans poorly but better than what they earn at home. Yekini was an example. People who were not born yesterday are aware of this. You can make your findings. |

The footballing difference is no longer huge between the participating countries and that is why fine margins were the deciding factors. People may argue that it's a low mentality to depend on penalties to progress but it's still a part of the game. If you think the mane incident wasn't a penalty, then u n d referee belong to the same class 4 Likes |

To be sincere, that Mane of a guy play nonsense. Always diving and looking for penalty. He seemed to have forgotten that there is VAR. He should have scored when those opportunities came 1 Like |

phase1: No bro, you provide no evidence yet. Your first post, I provided empirical evidence to prove my position. Empirical evidence. We closed that case. You need evidence to make generalizations. I'm sure you already knew this. You're making a generalization that you have not backed. Is that how it works? |

oooduancalmdown: The truth is not all African players are demotivated when earn huge pays in Europe. But the World cup is not a tournament only professionals but for even hungry amateurs too. Did you know that one of the south korean players who defeated Germany is a policeman by profession. My submission is simple. Hunger for glory must be Number pre-requisite for taking any player to the world not the leagues where they play in Europe. No matter how good a player is, if he is not motivated he won't deliver. Most Europe based players are not hungry. I read an interview Romelu lukaku granted where he said that he became a deadly striker because his mother could only afford them bread bought on credit. Whenever he goes on the field to play in Belgium as a youth he remembers the rats running around in their house, the lack of food at home, the discrimination against him as a black man he becomes angry, fights and scores hat tricks. That's a proper case of hunger as a motivator. Iheanacho was the deadliest youth striker in the world as a young hungry boy just a few years ago, he has made money today and the source of motivation is no longer there. He can't even properly lift his fattened laps to kick the ball. Lets look for hungry boys who want to shine. Their source of motivation is still there, we should use their hunger to our advantage. 2 Likes |

kenddys: Lol. I like your one example. They have always underperformed at world cup. And I hear their league is the best in Africa, their players hardly go abroad to play. Those clamoring for home based people only, what do you have to say about Egypt? They make me laugh |

resurgent2019:Okay fine your statement is justified but in what way is Japan better then Senegal? Did they not score, concede, had shots on and off target or covered the same distance on the field as Japan? Did they not both lose today? Your statement may be justified but it has a lot of loop holes. If this fair play rule truly worked Poland would be through on technicality or Japan would replay Senegal 2 Likes |
