Koolkesh and Stancima were actually right. My visa was issued the following day after my interview. I didn't hear from DHL till 4 days after though and I think it took them that long due to the Eid-el- fitri holidays.

If your Wife is a USC, then your category is CR1 ( conditional relative/spouse if u have been married for less than 2yrs. But if u have been married for more than 2yrs, that's IR1( Immediate relative ) and there is no waiting times for this cases, hence Una matter no concern VISA BULLETINS. Once USC approves your case and it moves to NVC, you are contacted immediately to continue your process. Check your file well because for your priority date to be June 2017, you are either in the CR1/IR1 category. You can also find out from your Wife, So that you are fully prepared during your interview. At this point you should not even be confused as to the category you fall in.

@tj28 and Stancima, I did not receive any letter from them that about the opt out, they just went ahead and sent the I. L . I guess I will just print out all my letters I wrote to both NVC and USCIS to request an Opt out, and take it with me on that day. Someone should pinch me ooo. The journey is almost at the finishing line.

You have to send a signed letter stating your single status. It's best you do that when you are sending your request. They just requested that yesterday and my interview is in 4 days. Hopefully I get the approval before then.
Medicals in Lagos takes 2 weeks to get your result if everything is ok.

Thanks bro. I sent them a letter same time I sent NVC. I got an electronic reply that I will hear from them in 5working days. E don pass 3weeks now. How do you send signed letter stating your single status? And how do they get to issue an I. L without any word from USCIS, does that halt the process on the D day? Confused ooo. But NVC did not instruct me to write them. I just did that based on what you guys said. After the I. L, there was no indication that our case is now F2B. Even when I checked the Ceac website ds260 form, the case still shows F1. I don't know whether they might update it later though. Cos everything just came yesterday.

NVC issues IL and they approved your opt out that's why you got interview date. Your case is no longer with Uscis that's why NVC can do that.
Don't worry my visa class didn't change on ceac log in till after 3weeks. By next week your case status will be sent (in transit) and then it will at the embassy (ready).

In order to process your request, please send us the following documents:

*official ID of beneficiary
*signed, written request from beneficiary requesting the opt-out
*petitioner’s naturalization certificate
*I-130 approval notice
*any marriage certificates and/or evidence of the termination of prior marriages of the beneficiary. If never married, the beneficiary should provide evidence of such, if available (for example, if country has a national registry or records of marriages). If the latter is unavailable, the beneficiary should provide a signed statement indicating he/she is not currently married and never has been married.

You may submit everything via email or regular mail. Once we receive all of the requested documents, we will begin reviewing the request.
