Whether we like it or not the use of technology in football has come to stay and it’s either we adapt fast or be left behind. Emphatically yes! It should be introduced into the Nigerian league and don’t tell me we don’t have the money or the expertise. We have the expertise ! We can train more if the need be. If Nigerian Mega-churches have enough cameras to cover everything going on in their domain why can’t the Nigerian League? It only requires extra cameras, radios and monitors. VAR and goal line technology should be integrated into the NPFL for the following reasons ?





1. CREDIBILITY: The reason our local league is not attractive enough is lack of credibility. The world will take NPFL serious if the league has credibility and what better way is there to show them we are credible ?
SPONSORSHIP: The reason NFF keeps fighting to get sponsorship is because the league is not attractive enough for investors. We hearing players been owed up and down, players running to Zimbabwe, Morocco and other third world countries to play all because the league lacks sponsorship.

2. MINIMIZE HUMAN ERRORS: We always hear stories of referee getting beating to stupor after a game because of errors. VAR we eradicate that and minimize human errors in the games. The era when referees are beaten up after a game would come to a screeching halt in Nigeria.

3.EMPLOYMENT: FIFA definitely had to employ extra personnel to cover the world cup as a result of this new technology. Think of the impact this would have on the unemployed youth all over the country. Football is big business and there’s huge money to be made from it. Let’s take advantage of it.

4.ADD GLAMOUR TO THE NIGERIAN LEAGUE: The creators of goal line technology (GLT) and Video Assistant Referee are not stupid. They know what they’re doing. There’s no doubt when our league become credible enough and starts attracting sponsorship, it will bring glamour to the Nigerian league, it will make our league beguiling, engaging, charming, charismatic, enchanting, appealing, delightful, irresistible. The era of empty stadium during football games will be over.

Yes coverage by a cable channel that's not even indigenous to us and we are talking about OUR local league,what happen to local TV stations showing the matches too? And I think one way to make the league "attractive" is accepting whatever the outcome of a football match is and not by inflicting injuries on the opponent's team/officials when the result is not in a team's favour.

Techcapon Judging from the exploits of the ongoing world cup. I say VAR is absolute crap and rubbish. First it does not solve anything as it is evident that some decisions made by referees even after consulting the VAR is still controversial secondly it disrupts the flow of the game and is just an unnecessary distraction having the referee run off in the middle of the game to go start watching a video is just humorous. Goal line tech on the other hand makes a lot of sense.

LOL. VAR has also saved a lot of lives o. Messi would have been weeping by now considering that this is his last world cup ever

Nigerian league will likely needs it cos almost all games are compromise, the ref is bribe by his host to have the game go in their favour, nothing professional or sportsmanship about NPFL, from players fighting ref to coach wearing jalabia to fans verbally insulting and intimidating opposition,

But we can't use it cos if var is introduce, every decision will be refer to var, even if its not close to the box, or even if the ref have a clear view,

The var team will still be compromised, var should be scrap from football entirely, there is nothing like intentional or non intentional hand ball, or off the head to the hand, if my head touches the ball but can't put pressure and I use my hand to change direction, it should be a penalty... but Nigeria was clearly denied a penalty.

Hope so.....

We cannot manage such kind of technology... We have not gotten to that level yet, we have more pressing issues to handle.. Like sending Buhari back to daura come 2019

Not yet possible, how many stadium get regular power supply, considering the number of cameras needed, vandalism, etc

I love the VAR concept, but Africans most especially Nigerians were thinking VAR was just another way for FIFA to chase them out of the World Cup lol

Which light go show VAR ? Before ref go check VAR NEPA go off light

VAR? When they can't even do replay. If you miss an action while watching Nigerian league then forget it. They don't replay, you're even talking of VAR
