there is nothing wrong in collecting your balance after hence you you have a particular amount you want to drop as offering but ,the right way to do it is when you drop for instance 500 and what you intend to drop as offering is 100 you tell the usher who is passing the offering plate that you need a balance of 400 than you dipping your hand in the offering plate.but,to me am always having that particular amount I want to give as offering whenever am going to church. is better you give God what comes out from your heart than what giving what you didn't plan and be angry .God will not accept that offering |

Have you heard of anyone who went to a native doctor and asked for change? Is it right to give alms to a beggar and ask for change? Have you ever given money to your parents or guardians and asked for change in return? Do you understand what it means to give an offering and the reasons behind it? How would you feel if you're seated next to God and while you require something from Him, He in return asks for change? Do you have good morals or the right ethics to living? There are 6 days before and after every Sunday, why don't you get that change before entering the church ? Giving offerings to the Most High is not some sanctimonious thing or an impulsive duty. Those who think they can ask certain questions thinking they mock God are only mocking themselves. 2 Likes |

Get your change before coming to church. Don't drop N500 inside the offering box and dip your hand inside to collect change. It's looks very weird. 1 Like |

RadicallyBlunt:God is only interested in the hearts that truly give. U have given God wholeheartedly and he has acknowledged it. Ur prayers and fasting ain't tied to the money u offered to God. Ur heart and attitude towards that gesture is what matters. |

The fact that someone has to ask this question shows how far religion has degraded free thought in this country. An offering is a voluntary donation. Simple. If you wish to break a large note into smaller denominations, that shouldn't be an issue because the church receives both small and large donations. It might just be appropriate to be organized about it. It would be quite inappropriate for someone to reach into the offering basket searching for smaller denominations in the name of change. The proper thing would be to ask an usher to help. That's one of their functions. 3 Likes |

Make sure u package ur offerings and other commitments to God with respect. Does it even sound right looking for change in church? Be prepared before coming to church to avoid embarrassing urslf and trying to mock God.... God can never be mocked! |

RadicallyBlunt:I totally disagree with you. The bible admonishes us to give freely, whatever amount we make out in our hearts; and it's when we give freely that God accepts our offerings. In the middle of a service, if I make out in my heart that I want to give N500, but I have only a N1000 note, what exactly is wrong in asking the ushers to kindly provide a change of N500 when I pass on my offering?... How exactly does this amount to dishonouring God?... If I should give the full N1000 when in my heart I only intended to give N500, that money is already wasted and not an offering to God as I didnt give it willingly. Why must Nigerians force down strange religious rules and statutes to make everything about Christianity more complex than it should be?... why do we feel that by engaging in these traditions of self righteousness we are pleasing God more? By the way, that your analogy in the first paragraph is just utterly ridiculous; your physical cash is no longer your money the moment it leaves your hand, so why should anyone be bothered about what happens to the specific Naira note they drop in church?... 1 Like |

The Christian God is so mighty and powerful, he has everything, he owns the world, but he needs your money. He is so big and powerful but can not find his own money, he can not even know how to manage money, so every other sunday, Christians must give more money to their Mighty God. Religions are just scam, all of them. Ye are Spirits, your consciousness does not require a Savior. |

RadicallyBlunt: In a situation where the church itself encourages members to ensure they give their offerings because of the benefits of giving and tells them that they should not imbibe the habit of avoiding giving offerings because of lack of change, instead that they should bring it that the church would always have change, and the members follow this practice, would u also say that they ar disrespecting God's integrity? |
