Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Nobody: 10:51pm On Jul 01, 2018 |
ssaengine:OK, thanks. It's armament is pretty standard, like what you have in other modern light attack/utility aircrafts. |

Xbee007: Both front and rear seats are ejection seats. If there is any armour below the crew it would most probably be very basic. The canopy itself is just that really, a canopy. 2 Likes |

Henry240:It can be retrofitted quickly and cheaply depending on mission type exp MPA, Recce, Light Attack ect ect It's basically a piloted drone...... If that makes sense? |

newafricaken254:Apart from that, their is also the issue of brain drain of skilled personel... as much as 30% of Kenya airways pilots and mechanics started their initial training under the police airwing dept... another 40% of Kenya airways pilots and engeneers have come from Kenya airforce.... And then the ridiculous thing is that after years of experience the skilled pilots leave Kenya airways to work for middle eastern cariers who are happy to pay them handsomely 4 Likes |

Henry240: Downside: Chassis looks wrecked, doubt they could repair it (huge crack just behind cockpit) Upside: looks like everyone walked away and looks like you can strip most of its parts. |

Landlocked Ethiopia plans to revive its Navy in new military reforms We should build our naval force capacity in the future… Landlocked Ethiopia, which lost its access to the Red Sea in 1991 now plans to rebuild its navy as part of a wide military reforms. The Ethiopian Navy was disbanded after Eritrea – a province in the country seceded following a three-decade war for independence. Since then, Ethiopia only maintains a maritime institute on Lake Tana that trains sailors and merchantmen. The institution trains more than 500 marine engineers and electro-technical officers each year and plans to increase this to more than 1,000 officers annually. Royal Moroccan Armed Forces reportedly interested in buying the Boeing AH-64 Apache attack helicopter ________________________________________ A new report published by The North African Post – a Pan-African media outlet reveals that the country is currently in negotiations with American Boeing for the purchase of Apache AH-64 helicopters for its Armed Forces. This new report is coming few weeks after the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces allegedly indicated interest in purchasing the Turkish-made TAI T-129 Atak helicopter, a derivation of the Agusta A129 Mangusta attack helicopter. The North African Post believes that the deal might have been signed in Washington during a visit by the Moroccan Military Chief of Staff Abdelfattah Lourak last April. In August 2002, The Spanish newspaper Laraithon reported that Saudi Arabia intended to supply Morocco with two squadrons of Apache gunships in light of its crisis with Spain over a disputed Mediterranean isle, which the country vehemently denied. newafricaken254: Henry240:

"They dont know that the C-27J was developed in a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Alenia Tactical Transport, or that the USAF was one of the first and biggest operators of the C-27J with over 140 units ordered. They also dont know the story of the G.222 in US military service" Another excellent example of the mind numbing ignorance of this board. 2 Likes

patches689:It doesn't dispute anything. "LMATTS was dissolved when Lockheed Martin offered the C-130J in 2006 as a contender in the same U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force Joint Cargo Aircraft (JCA) competition in which the C-27J was competing". The Americans went for an out and out Lockheed Martin aircraft over the partly built lockheed Martin aircraft. What's the change? |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by patches689: 6:04pm On Jul 02, 2018 |
Henry240: Your initial assertion was that the Americans (specifically Congress) were criticizing an Aircraft due to its nation of origin and not because of its technical aspects. This has been thoroughly debunked, and that being so, has illustrated your poor general knowledge. Read more, argue less. PS: The C-27J is now built by Boeing. 1 Like |

patches689:No sir, that wasn't my assertion. If it was, can you prove it? In what world in a US Army tender will Leonardo win an aircraft tender over Lockheed Martin? |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Nobody: 6:09pm On Jul 02, 2018 |
patches689:By November 2006, the C-27J completed the U.S. Department of Defense's Early User Survey evaluations, having flown a total of 26 hours and surpassed all requirements. |
