If you learn JavaScript, you can easily pivk up it framework like react, vue and angular, in working environments these 3 are the most popular, react is currently leading, with the knowledge of the framework you can also learn Node Js(JavaScript runtime built on C++) for server side development so you won't need php, you can go for MERN or MEAN, tho I'm a MERN guy

A framework is complicated? , it's like a barber saying using clipper is complicated and he will prefer to use sciscorrs, or a tailor saying sewing machine is complicated he'll prefer to use needle and thread, you really need to know the purpose and usefulness of frameworks, it'll help you on the long run.

So angular is easier cos it's a framework? That means mvc is easier than c#

Or Angular2 and the upgraded 4,5 and 6, cos they are different, angular 2 and above uses typescript, maybe that's what you are referring to as complicated, under the hood, your typescript is still compiled down to JavaScript, if its angular js you are still writing Js and not typescript, but if you have a very knowledge of vanilla JavaScript, framework will just be an icing on the cake
