I went for my interview again today and was denied by the black lady in window 2. not the popular window 7.

vo:Good morning , where are you going to

me:I am going to Etsu for my masters in computer and information sciences

vo: she looks at her system and said (hold on). after reading for a while. she said. what has changed since u were last here

me: I was placed on administrative processing but was later refused, I guess the VO wasn't satisfied with my financial documents. so I have brought additional documents and letters from each bank to show my financial capabilities.

vo: your uncle is sponsoring u. what does he do?

me: He's into the importation of fabric and textile.

vo: how many children does he have

me: 3

vo: Has he been out of the country before?

me: Yes.

Vo: where

me: Usa, China, Cameroon

vo:Tell me his name, first and last

me: I did

she stares at the documents for over minutes. then looked at her system like she's searching for somthing. took a while too. I was just standing there. she then typed for a very long time. then said "sorry I ll have to agree with my former colleague. you do not qualify now. U can reapply.

Me: can I ask u a question. she said yes.
"can u tell me the actual reason"

vo: it's against the law the form explains everything

me:I know what the form says and we both know it doesn't really specify.  I am not asking u to break the law. but give me something to work with. you can do it in a way that u wouldn't be breaking the law. Just tell me what you personally think I should do?

Vo: Okay. if I'm to say. I ll say I ll probably wait

Note: I came home and told the whole ordeal to my sister. she pointed out that my uncle now has 4kids and not 3. I don't know if this played a role.. I have accepted my fate. I will work harder , rewrite GRE and aim for PHD and and masters but full scholarship. I had 305 and 105toefl.

My question is. will this mistake of 3/4 kids affect me in the future. it was an honest mistake. If it was the reason I was rejected. will it come back again to haunt me even if I secure full scholarships for next year.

I want honest opinions.  no matter how harsh. Pls I ll appreciate any opinion
Thank you

The V.O that interviewed you is nice. They do say it time without number if your story hasn't changed within the last 6 months, dont reapply. I think you were refused not less than 2months, let's say you came june 1st and you are going back home 30th or July, the probability of getting your visa approved is slim. The V.O will likely agree with his/her colleague decision and won't bother asking you much questions. That's a sign of respect to his colleague as nothing has really changed in your application. The best thing to do is wait. Wait till spring 2019 or fall 2019. You can aswear apply for PhD so that your profile will be stronger next time you appear before them. Don't give up, wish you the best in your future endeavours.

Okay. You are about to get married. If asked if you are married, tell them the situation as it is. You are engaged...and getting married soon, or as you may wish.
On your program of study. I think the school may not want to change what is written on the i-20, and it doesn't really matter. Prepare to give very quality, point-based answer to why you want to study Financial Mathematics. Prepare to answer "Why did you chose Financial Mathematics (which is a unique course). Prepare yourself to tell they why you chose the program stated on your i-20, not MS Finance. Please note! Other than that, what was your first degree?

As per the the error with your middle name, I think you can update the appointment profile. Just go back to that website. I hope this mistake was not on the DSFORM that you use its ID NUMBER to schedule the appointment? Good luck!
TheSuperladyy:
Good Morning Everyone.
I would appreciate if my questions could be answered please.

Background information: I got an admit for MS Finance at University of New Haven, Fall 2018.

1. When i received my I-20, The course written on it was Financial Mathematics. I contacted the school and the AO said that is how its stated for SEVIS purposes. She said its because of the course's STEM designation. My question is this, How do I answer the "whats your course of study?"question during My Visa Interview.

2. I booked my interview for 18th of July, and my registry wedding will hold on 27th of July. If the VO asked if i am married, Should I just say no and leave it at that or should i give details of the planned wedding?

3. My Visa appointment confirmation page showed I made a mistake in my name while booking. I wrote "DEMOLA" instead of "DAMOLA" as my middle name. Would this have any negative impact? If yes, How can I rectify the error?

Sorry for the lengthy Post and Thank you as you oblige with answers.

Sorry about the delay .......are you not close to your sponsor to know how many kids or it was nerves

I cannot tell for sure the bold as it only someone who works in the embassy that would know . I dont think it would (although consistent is key) but i am no insider .

I thought he had 2 boys and 1 girl. didn't know he has 3 boys now. they are all so little. I can't really pinpoint why I only know 3. and I know their names. Is there a way I could ask a visa officer?

Thank you. I will wait for fall and apply. since it seemed everything was about my sponsor and finances. I'm still worried about the number of kids error. what do u think about it

That's a minor mistake. You didn't know he gave birth to another. So that shouldn't bother you. The V.O is nice and gave you a clue. WAIT and come back maybe with stronger profile and ties

The reason for her denial seems to be her sponsor for God knows what reason. But you can't say if one is denied he or she should not apply until after 6 months, that's a bad advice bc your first interview might not have been good due to some unforeseen circumstances let say anxiety. so are you saying if someone fall in such category he or she should not apply again until 6 months time?

Who told you the embassy communicates with the school? The background checking they did has nothing to do with your school. There must have been a part of your application that contradicts. But if your bank statement wasn't genuine, then maybe that is where the issue is. When they collect your bank statement, they read it... If it has not been real or handed over by the bank and transactions are not consistent, that could have caused a problem. It can be painful especially when you did not know when they later refused the visa.

I got full scholarship. Ddnt submit any bank statement

I believe she understood my message as she has been there. If you reapply within a short. The V.O will likely not ask you much questions and probably refuse you as he/she will believe his/her colleague did a good job and nothing has changed from your story within that short period. So my advice Is, if your story hasn't changed, dont reapply... like you went earlier without funding and suddenly funding came from another school... You have a story change here, you can reapply. If nothing tangible has changed, please don't waste money reapplying as you will likely be refused again.

Good morning, please what's the distance between ketu and water carrington? I'm crashing there a day before my interview. Thanks.
Use Google Maps to find out.
I'll advice you take BRT (Blue Bus) from Ketu directly to TBS on the Island
Take keke from TBS going to Eko Hotels and tell them to drop you @the US embassy building.
If I were you I'll go and find out where the embassy is before the interview (if you still have enough time)

Good morning house. I don't know if this is the right place to advertise this. I searched nairaland forum but couldnt find any similar topic.
I am in need of cash. If you are interested in getting a US citizenship by marriage, contact me. Cost is N10million and must be a male.

I'm sorry to inform you that the real price for this is $10,000 but you know Nigerians won't even fall for that. I suggest you try Ghanians and the likes...besides I wonder how many of us you can help at once! grin ...BUT! If you join a CNA program now, you should make that by the end of next year or so. If upgrade your studies, even better!!

Read carefully between the lines you see here, everyone is seriously trying to study. angry

My friend, will you disappear from here. You want to use the grace of God to deceive people because you don't have conscience. By the way, is America heaven? You will only waste your data to post rubbish here, nobody here will fall for you. This place is a community where you have people who think before they act, so bounce.

Good day people...my application was denied today at Abuja embassy...I plan to reapply as my school is resuming on 16th of august...I was interviewed by d young white lady at window 9; here's my transcript, kindly help assess;
Me: good morning ma
Vo: she signalled and says pass me ur document ( den I passed passport and I20)
Vo: why did u choose prairie view?
Me: I chose pv because the cis curriculum at pv integrates data science, electronic commerce and information security into d study plan. This will give me a well rounded exposure to advance my career as a data analyst when I return after my study. ( I wanted to keep talking but she cut me short.....
Vo: who is sponsoring u
Me: my elder sister...she owns an event management and catering services company
Vo: have u travelled before
Me: No
All through she was typing and m not sure she looked at me for more dan 2 secs

Vo: what did u study for undergraduate
Me: I studied physics
Vo: and u r going to study what?
Me : computer Information systems
Then she typed for like 30-40 seconds after which she passed my passport, I20 and a white paper dt states u r not eligible under section 214(b)
I was fairly composed during d interview but I feel I was not given enough chance to express my professional ties as I am employed
Please where did I go wrong...and what can I correct to improve my chances. How soon can I get a new date in lagos....my school resumes August 16

Hi guys,

So my friend had issues with her i20, there was a server fluke and the DSO didn’t get an update on her admission status for a long time. When she did it was June ending and the program starts Aug 14. The visa date she got is Aug 10, is it advisable to apply for expedited interview date or should she just go through with it on that date.
Thanks
