I think its prudent to start preparing for an inevitable civil war. Just look at this :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D41xeq7Gktw

As far as im concerned these are moving into position. Two hundred people killed in a country thats not at war....we have become so desensitized to the madness. This country is going back to the stone ages. Two hundred million dollars to build ranches for cattles to graze !! Really. Two hundred million dollars. We are actually digressing..if we do not vote these old bastards out of office we are doomed.

VP Prof Osinbajo yesterday attended the Nigerian Army Day Celebration where he inspected the military equipment exhibitions.

Theme was: The Nigerian Army and National Security; A Panacea for Nigeria's Economic Development, held at Military Barracks, Mongunu, Borno State.

I can see MRE, hand held radios and some spare parts, all locally made I presume.

I can also see SATCOM Namibia.

PERSONNEL WELFARE GETS BOOST AS NAF COMMISSIONS NEW RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION IN ILORIN

Another milestone has been realized in the quest by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, to address welfare needs and enhance the overall wellbeing of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel. This was achieved yesterday, 5 July 2018, when a block of 30 x one-bedroom residential accommodation for airmen/airwomen was commissioned at 303 Medium Airlift Group (MAG), NAF Base Ilorin, Kwara State. The newly completed and fully furnished residential block is part of a deliberate effort aimed at ensuring that personnel of 303 MAG, some of whom hitherto resided in rented accommodation in different locations within Ilorin, are relocated to the Base for enhanced operational efficiency and optimized service delivery.

While speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the CAS, who was represented by the Chief of Administration (COA) at Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Yahaya, stated that the facility was provided as part of ongoing efforts to focus on the welfare of personnel as a way of enhancing professionalism. He said that this mandate had spurred the NAF leadership, since 2015, to embark on massive infrastructural development in NAF Bases across the country in order to ensure better living conditions for NAF personnel and their families with a view to ensuring they remained committed to the performance of their constitutional roles. He therefore congratulated the beneficiaries of the new accommodation and urged them to ensure the facility was properly maintained.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 303 MAG, Group Captain Patrick Obeya, expressed profound appreciation to the NAF leadership for the relentless efforts at improving infrastructure and executing various welfare boosting projects in the Base. He said the unit and its personnel were well motivated and thus better positioned to more effectively carry out assigned tasks.

This is another version of propaganda that never happened. Mursi was duly elected and was operating by the book but Saudi Arabia and it's brand of intolerant Islam that is a problem for the whole world today prompted the coup led by it's lackey Sisi who was in a position to do so using the pretext of the Muslim Brotherhood as a threat. Following events in real time shows Mursi made strenuous efforts to appear neutral and making concessions.

The Muslim Brotherhood has never been accepted by forces aligned with Saudi Arabia both in the region and in Egypt itself. The Muslim brotherhood could never have caused a Libya and only reacted based on the Sisi putsch which was minimal. The Egyptian High command didn't fall apart and maintained control.

Sisi is a brutal dictator. He romanced America but was turned down. The forces at play in Egypt has never tolerated representative rule. Reasons are always advanced for every coup but that don't make them justified. The opposition that wanted Mursi out of power are not in the majority. Sisi has brutally cracked down on dissent like no where else in the world.

This is the first I have to agree with you totally.

CELEBRATING THE NIGERIAN SOLDIER ON 6TH JULY 2018

Brigadier General SK Usman

Today Friday 6th July 2018, the Nigerian Army is celebrating its day for the year 2018, (NADCEL 2018) in Monguno, Borno State. This is unique and a sharp departure from the usual parade, combat march past, weaponry and equipment displays usually at the Eagle Square in Abuja or any of the big cities in the country. That is the not the style of Nigerian Army of today under the able leadership of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai, a soldier’s soldier and the man who made history as the world’s acknowledged arrow head and commander of the fight against terrorism and insurgency in our country, Nigeria.

What makes this year’s Army Day Celebration in its 155 years of existence quite unique is the fact that it is taking place in Borno State, the north eastern part of country. Some years back it is unimaginable to visit Maiduguri for whatever reason let alone venturing as far as Monguno to celebrate and carry out humanitarian activities. In addition, the Nigerian Army has been showcasing its innovations, research and development and technological advancements in the art of warfare and other aspects of human endeavors. Little wonder that the theme for this year’s celebration is “The Nigerian Army and National Security: A Panacea for Nigeria’s Economic Development”. According to the Chief of Army Staff during a press conference on 29th June 2018, the Army is “determined more than ever before to contribute our quota to national development.” The theme is also in line with his vision, which is “to have a Professionally Responsive Nigerian Army in the discharge of its Constitutional Roles” which serves as impetus for the wonderful achievements of the Nigerian Army in the past three years.

The strategic decision to hold the celebration in that part of Nigeria is a very commendable initiative which apart from giving troops greater sense of belonging, it is also sending a very clear and unequivocal signal of the end of Boko Haram terrorists group in our country. It also signifies the restoration of peace and security to the region that for nine years had known any and opening up socio-economic life that would add steam to national development. Therefore, there is every reason for every officer and soldier to be happy, proud and thankful for being part of the Nigerian Army at this point in time of our national history. The unprecedented accomplishments in fighting and defeating terrorism and insurgency and above all, great sense of professionalism within the last three years under Lieutenant General TY Buratai is unimaginable!

I therefore want to take this opportunity to further pray for the souls of our departed heroic, selfless and gallant officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army who paid the supreme sacrifice or sustained injuries in the course of defending our great nation over time. Their sacrifices would never be in vain. May God grant all those wounded in action speedy recovery. I also want to the celebrate and rejoice with my colleagues; the gallant officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army whose patriotism and sense of duty made them to place Nigeria before self and willing to pay supreme sacrifice of giving one’s life for the sake of our great nation. It is pertinent to also salute the spouses, children and family members of the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army for their unconditional love, support, encouragement, prayers and understanding.

I enjoin all Nigerians to appreciate the Armed Forces of Nigeria and celebrate the Nigerian Army at this auspicious annual occasion of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2018, for doing the nation proud. The Nigerian soldier is second to none in courage, perseverance, loyalty, patriotism, love for peace and humanity. Thank you so much for daring to tread where no mortals dare and conquer Nigeria’s enemies. Your enormous sacrifice enduring harsh climatic and social conditions of leaving your families behind for the frontline for Nigerians and indeed the world, to enjoy peace, liberty and development, makes you special. The pride you brought to Nigeria through these deeds, is extraordinary and would continually be remembered.

Congratulations to all officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army wherever you might be; here in Nigeria and abroad, as we celebrate yet another Nigerian Army Day today. God bless you all. Happy NADCEL 2018!!

15 killed in clashes between DR Congo, Ugandan navies

____

Four Ugandan soldiers and three civilians were killed on Thursday in clashes on Lake Edward that lies between the two countries, a senior official in the Democratic Republic of Congo said.

Other clashes in the region between DR Congo forces and Ugandan rebels as well as a local militia claimed eight more lives, the army said.
A DR Congo naval patrol was "attacked this morning by a Ugandan patrol boat in Congolese waters," Donat Kibwana, the administrator of the Beni region in the eastern province of Nord-Kivu said.

"The Ugandan boat sank and four troops and three Ugandan civilians are dead," he said. "On the Congolese side, a soldier and a civilian have been injured."

The clash took place near the Congolese village of Kyavinyonge on Lake Edward.
There has been no confirmation from the Ugandan side so far.

Kibwana said clashes between the forces of the two neighbouring countries had multiplied since the start of this month.
On Wednesday, a Ugandan patrol boat arrested 18 Congolese fishermen as they were casting their nets.

The Congolese navy is tasked with preventing militia fighters and local rebels and others from neighbouring Uganda and Rwanda from operating in the area.

Eastern DRC has been wracked by violence since the mid-1990s.
The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) militia -- created by Muslim radicals to oppose the rule of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni -- is one of a number of armed groups fighting over the region's rich mineral resources.

On Thursday, three members of the local Mai-Mai militia were killed at Kanyihunga, about 50 kilometres (30 miles) north of Lake Edward after they attacked an army post, Captain Mak Hazukay, the regional army spokesman said.

Hazukay said five ADF rebels died in Mwalika in Nord Kivu in clashes with the army.

The group stands accused of killing hundreds of civilians over the years and of carrying out a deadly attack on UN troops in Beni last December that left 15 peacekeepers dead.

There is something I have come to notice; terrorist in northern African countries i:e: Algeria, egypt, Libya etc. hide weapon caches in the undulating desert dunes and mountain rocks. I don't think BHT will keep such weapon caches or deploy such tactics.

Most terrorist groups in these "countries" operates in fewer numbers under the protection of sleeper cells, underground tunnels, mountainous terrain to carry out there hit and run tactics unlike BHT. And each of these cells, tunnels or hideouts have there own weapon caches.

Also in algeria 74 terrorists have surrendered since the beginning of the year ( 2018 ) , and each one will give many informations about weapons caches and terrorists activities .
