Recall that few says ago, we broke the story of large-scale trade war looming between China and America,READ HERE, the two largest economies in the world and how it might affect Nigerians, well guess what, the war has begun officially with Washington and Beijing imposing 25-percent tariffs on $34 billion worth of each other’s goods, (That is a whopping $8.5 billion) ! The tariffs which began as a mere threat by the Trump administration became a reality as the United States implemented the huge tariffs which was met with an identical and immediate response from the Chinese government. While the U.S. primarily targeted Chinese technologies including smartphones, laptop and other electronic gadgets, Beijing’s measures was far more brutal as it was imposed on everything from vehicles and lobsters to soybeans, agricultural products and electronics. This would automatically cause a huge inflation of Chinese products in America and American products in China. All American companies doing business in China (including Apple) which sold millions of iPhones in China will suffer huge loss as prices will reach an all time high.



This trade war is the largest trade war in the history of mankind as Trump is set to impose more heavy taxes on Chinese goods in several weeks time. No one really knows how long and how far this trade war will continue, but if it continues like this, American goods might not be allowed into China and vise-versa which will definitely affect almost everyone. The White House said it would consult on tariffs on another $16bn of products, which Mr Trump has suggested could come into effect later this month. Mr Trump said: “You have another 16 [billion dollars] in two weeks.



With this Chinese tariffs, American products going into China will be affected, farmers will suffer, car companies such as Tesla, Chrysler, Ford, GM, etc will suffer, phone companies will suffer, everything America that’s going into China will be affect. All US companies based in China will also be affected. If it blows up into a full scale trade war, everyone who uses a Chinese product will be affected and that includes you and me.

This piece is wrong! China is more affected by the war than the United States. As reported and analysed yesterday on CNN, China, being a major exporter of tech products are at a greater disadvantage than the United States, with Steel companies being the greatest winners of the war.

The so called Chinese measures only impact a couple of segment of American farmers who export their produce to China for processing. In the end, Trump miscalculated as he had severed trade ties with the EU before now.

America would lose this battle.

What's US producing that China isn't, at a low cost? Huawei, for example, is kicking Ericsson ass upandan. China got enough land for agriculture, manufacture it's own cars, got it's own tech... I really pity Apple. That's where iPhone sells. China had threatened Apple in the past that if the later refused to set up their plant in China, Apple should forget selling in China. Apple had no choice. Have you ever wondered, back in the days when chinko phones were the order of the day. They made clones of standard phones and the original manufacturers kept mute. They had to because China has the market.

Chinese phones are getting it right. Look at Xiaomi phones, they're the iPhones of China and yes, they're integrating all other standard alone apps into their MIUI core. You know Shazam app right (the app that tells you who's sing a song you're hearing from somewhere or someone)? My Xiaomi music player can do that plus download lyrics and album art, correct wrong song names probably through its "Shazam" enable feature.

This battle is uncalled for. Trump was planning to pull outta NATO ( because he said US is being cheated being the highest sponsor), and was pulling outta other treaties and agreements too...even pushing for the dissolution of EU! Nawao. Taking on China heading on grounds of trade? Make bros calm down na.... One thing is no Nation is self sustaining.

I still like the Trump guy though.... bullshit is bullshit! No sugarcoating.

American goods not going to China and vice versa should not concern us here, inFact it will mean more products coming here to minimise waste . Another good news to this is that more inventions will occur especially on the Chinese front
