The Niger Delta Development Commission,NDDC is paying Mr. Ata Ikiddeh a one time Akwa Ibom State Governor’s aide, about N4m naira monthly to disparage and cultivate antagonists against the government of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Stunning details have emerged on how the Akwa Ibom State Government turned down an annual demand of N.5bn made last year by Mr Ata Ikiddeh, prompting him to approach the intervention agency.

Indications show that Mr Ikiddeh who has allegedly been engaged by the NDDC Czar to demean and attack the government of Akwa Ibom State ahead of the 2019 elections, had first approached the state Commissioner for Information with a ridiculous proposal, targeted at ripping his state of N3,882,000 and sundry charges each month.

Mr Ikiddeh by his own admission said on Facebook, “I alerted the State Government about this, I personally called Hon Commsioner Charles Udoh and asked him for materials on Governor Udom’s Projects and as usual he was pleasant over the phone but once we dropped he became incommunicado and would not pick my calls. I then put a call through to Obong Nsima Ekere, we discussed the idea and he liked it and framed what he wants in the message.”

A report by a media group ‘The Mandate Eyes’ reveals that Mr Ata Ikiddeh had submitted a proposal using his business name g l o b a l m e d i a e u r o p e i n t e r n a t i o n a l, 12 Kipling Avenue Tilbury RM18 8HE UK to the Commissioner For Information on 13th July 2017, urging the commissioner to make available over N500m annual payment, for his(Ata’s) media packaging on the Governor.

Ikiddeh in the said report, urged the Commissioner not to be scared by the huge amount of money demanded, as the money would be used to ensure a “well coordinated strategic approach to win the hearts and minds of the people; to drown out opposition voices in order for PDP to win 2019 by a landslide in Akwa Ibom State.”

The proposal tagged, “A STRATEGY TARGETING THE INTELLIGENTSIA, THE PEOPLE AND THE MASSES (IPM) THROUGH INFORMATION, ENGAGEMENT AND PARTICIPATION, opined that, “there is a large majority of undecided voters made up of the intelligentsia, the People and the Masses (IPM) who need to be convinced and captured.”

Ikiddeh who posed as a specialist in collaborative approaches to strategic media information and communication service, also claimed he worked as a consultant for former Governor Godswill Akpabio between 2007 and 2013, a claim which later turned out to be false.

“This approach has been well defined from 2007 when I began to work on a media consultancy basis for the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio between 2007 and 2013.”

In further justifying the outrageous amount he tied to his service, Ikiddeh maintained that he will tour all the projects sites in the state and have them published on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, Youtube and Blog.

The Afaha Offiong-born law graduate proposed to engage a Facebook Influencer, a Twitter Influencer, an Instagram Influencer, a researcher, two TV reporters, a Statistician and two cameramen.

“I am confident this media project will radically change the hearts and minds of the people and will completely drown out the a opposition. It is my hope PDP will not have to fight for 2019 but walk into 2019 with over 7m IPM's behind the Governor. This is my goal,” he concluded.

However investigations by the Mandate Eyes reveal that Mr Ikiddeh may have deceived the Commissioner in the proposal, as he was never engaged as media consultant to the former governor in 2007 as he claimed.

It was discovered that Mr. Ata Ikiddeh was only officially engaged as a Special Assistant to the then Governor on Projects Supervision in 2011, otherwise his other occasional activities from 2009 which included occasional posting of projects of the government on youtube and facebook, were actually unsolicited.

Ikiddeh was to return to Facebook last month to post that his proposal which was rejected by the Akwa Ibom State Government, has been adopted by the NDDC and that the Managing Director of the agency Mr Nsima Ekere personally called him up to approve the proposal which was to cost an annual amount of N500,000,000.
