That's what happens when there are no competitors. DSTV are simply enjoying the monopoly that this yeye country has afforded them. And to think they're a South African company is really annoying. What would it take to set up a rival company that would give DSTV a run for their money?

Tstv came out as a competition with very much cheaper offer.. But the cabals in Aso Rock shut them down, becoz of their shares with dstv.

And what did the masses do? They turned TsTv into laffing stock rather than speaking up.

This is why this country will neva see something better. Because if they can put so much negative Energy to terminate ordinary TV cable that would have helped masses . How much more bigger things like allocations ?.

THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM

I've said it before and I'll keep on saying it.

Nigerians problem is not Buhari, it's the average citizen.

There're more average Nigerian citizens than there are SARS, Senators, Presidents, etc

This is the norm for DSTV, they increase the subscription every 2 years or so. Its not fair at all . I cannot state how much they need strong competition, KWESE is not at that level yet and TSTV is a joke. If not for the fact that every other month I get free premium subscription, i'd have stopped paying awhile ago.

If the picture you painted is the case, then DStv subscribers, and indeed all Nigerians living in Nigeria should continue the long held locution "Suffering and smiling". Nothing works in Nigeria because of corruption and greed.

TSTV killed themselves pls.
They did not have a plan.
They thought Nigeria is China where you can stream pirated channels.

There is nothing like pirated channels..
They were shut down with politics.
Only unwise person won't know this.

I think this explains why in a big country Nigeria there are many billionaires , yet none of them could give us a TV cable... I think they know something like a this will happen.

Take responsibility for your mistakes and don't blame others.
Did they take down startimes or kwese?

TSTV was not ready. When they first said they were launching on October 1st last year, I hunted down their dealers, only to be told no decoders available yet. This was a week to launch.

They launched without decoders. Launched without actual agreements in place.

The only thing they had going for them is the strange hatred Nigerians have for dstv, because Nigerians think cable TV is a right and not a luxury.

"Take responsibility for ur mistake and not blame orders"
U are now beginning to sound very funny.
Becoz I CNT remember telling u I work with TSTV. undecided
and u saying tstv launched without decoders is a lie from pit of hell, becoz my neighbour got one.
And u also need to know that the delay and postponed in their launching was as a result of them fighting and trying to settle with the Devils in Aso Rock pulling them down.

It's sad when one keeps finding out Nigerians challenges with English comprehension. TSTV failed because of their poor planning. Stop trying to blame their failure on others. Taking personal responsibility is alien to Nigerians who will always blame others for their failures.

What devils in aso rock? So you start a business without clearing all your regulatory issues? Then call government wicked?

This is the sort of backward simplistic reasoning that the TSTV supporters always spout. Lazy Nigerian youth.

A simple question u should ask urself.

U can't tell me that some1 who had his plans down before launching TV cable dont know what TV right is.

This is ignorance.

There are rules governing issuance of TV rights and subsequent airing of the programs. To imply that another media station should get access to what she did not purchase and without permission is nonsensical. Besides, the man behind TSTV has a chequered history both in business and personal life. Unlike what some posters are saying, Multichoice aka DSTV is not operating a monopoly. That is a misuse of the word.

@Post: Quite unfortunate they are increasing it. But I'm sure it is partly because of the cost in operating a business coupled with the punitive taxes everywhere.

Lol funny thing is u keep shouting ignorance up and down yet u are ignorant one here.
Ofcourse I know there are rules governing Airing TV programs, who doesn't know that. undecided
What I mean by my statement is u should stop using it as excuse why they couldn't air.
Or are u now telling me only Dstv has the money to pay for TV in Nigeria?
The problem is not TV right rather the problem is politics behind it.
Thats what the other guy is trying to tell u
This is a common sense bro.

When you meet the people behind rights to the EPL, CNN, E!, Nageo TV etc. Kindly ask them the question. So I should purchase the full rights to air every game of the premier league and you want to air same within the territory without permission?
