Hello.. I have a bachelors in psychology and I'm wanna study MSc in physician assistant.. Traditionally I'm not a science student but i read somewhere that irrespective of your major, you can apply to study PA so far you fulfill the prerequisites.. Please can you shed more light on this..

It's good to hear you like to be a PA. Yes, you don't need to have a science degree to jump in. But the crazy thing about PA admission is that each requirement is different from one program to the other. Currently there are 165 international student friendly PA programs but I'm telling you, they all have different prereqs requirement. Although a lot have changed in the admission requirement since I applied. What I used to know as a pre-pa was that most of the requirements are required to be done in U.S but if this is still strongly enforced, I don't know.

You can start writing any of those 165 programs you like and ask about their prereqs and patient care experience requirement for international students. If you're already in U.S studying, this might be more easy for you in terms of getting patient care exp and prereqs done because the term 'international student' for some programs means those non citizen student already in U.S on F1 visa.

My other worry is if PA admission would be appreciated by VOs as it should have been because PA degree confines you to work only in U.S, Canada, U.K, Spain and Netherlands. Though, there are few African countries that have PA in their healthcare team, e.g Tanzania, Uganda etc but I bet these African countries can't even support their own citizens.

I'm going to post some resources for you if that would help.

165 International student friendly PA programs in U.S

Read this before you start. I won't worry about International Medical Graduate (img) stressed throughout the page
https://doseofpa..com/2015/02/from-international-student-to-physician.html

I found this program requirements average and they didn't state if the prereqs should be done in U.S or not. You can write them

The PA education directory

And this PA forum. You may want to open a thread there for your questions

Most important: Don't forget that this course is an accelerated type and very rigorous, you can't work not even on campus, your total tuition would be more than $100,000, no graduate assistantship and admission process seems to be tedious.

Best!

hello people this is URGENT ....i was denied last week and i just paid a new visa fee, my school resumes on 16th of august.....d earliest available date is 13th august. can i go ahead and book the 13th august.if i do will it be possible to reschedule to a closer date incase i see any later. Please what are d options available to me ?

If you can get an earlier date, then you should go ahead but if not, that Aug 13 is so close to your resumption.

Traveling and starting classes immediately is not so easy. You will need some time to settle down before class begins.

Is it advisable to reapply for f-1 visa using i-20 issued after getting student loan? In other words, could the fact that you're financing your study via a US loan hamper your chances b4 the VO on the interview day?

I don't think so. There was a guy here last year who presented student loan and got the visa.

hello everyone, I graduated with 4.05 c.g.p.a from the department of education chemistry (I wanted to study nursing but was offered this course instead). now I would like to apply for masters of science in nursing, please suggest good universities and their requirements I can apply for, thank you all as I await your responses

MSN is a common course with a straight forward admission requirement, do your prereqs etc.

Search on Google.

He could have said Education USA (Because this is affiliated with the US) or Usnews.com or Princeton review or A college fair. Most times if you say your Friend in the same category recommended it to you and you applied to it. It sounds like you're going to mingle with him.

To say Education USA, Usnews.com or Princeton review or A college fair when he actually doesn't know how he got the school. What if they ask him to state what's Education USA, Usnews.com or Princeton review or A college fair and what crosses his mind is they are all private schools in Lagos State? What would you have advised him? To keep lying? Did you lied about yours?

Even when someone is banned for misrepresentation using fake document, all they will give is the whatever colored paper. I'm not saying you were banned because I was not the VO but you were caught for misrepresentation. And to say it might be that the VO never searched the fake name must be a joke. He didn't just ask you to spell out the name to see if he can play some online games with the name. He successfully ran a quick check on the name and found it not existing on F1 visa and made his decision. You can always reapply and if you choose to lie, certainly not that kind of cheap lies that can be easily debunked online. Also, defer your admission and know how you got the school.

Best of luck!

thanks for taking your time to explain... $100,000 is quite expensive damn..... Please what about rn.... I would appreciate if you could help me with the info.. I heard theres accelerated program for rn that i won't need to do 4 years bsc in nursing....I researched occupational therapy too... I'm just confused right now.... One of the reasons why i want to switch is because it takes too long to become a professional clinical psychologist.. And probably much money as well.... So I'm torn between rn and occupational therapy now... Please i need your advice.... Physician assistant is my preferred choice but the tuition fee is outrageous lol.... You can reply at your convinience... Thanks

I have seen a transcript of someone that was denied here even after presenting a letter from an employer. You can learn from that guy's experience; the guy kept bringing all forms of supporting documents. When he pressed the VO further for the denial, he was told that it is strange for employer to guarantee your position if you haven't stayed with them for a long time. So think it through and make your decision.

PLEASE guys I need your help .. Is it true that having relatives in the u.s affects chances of getting a visa? My mum and elder sister are both in the u.s, they are residents and legal although my sister bears a different surname from mine..someone suggested I say no, I don't have anyone but I will need to fill my mums info in my ds-160? Is there anyway they can check her details and detect its not true ? I dont know if therea a eay they can do thathould I just mention I have only my mum, or leave both out and say no.. I'm really confused and I need urgent opinions please. I really dont want this to affect me..has anyone admitted that they have relatives over there and it didn't affect them or has anyone successfully left it out that they have a parent there?
