Yes, DPR HR department have shown high level of unprofessionalism especially at the end of this whole process. But I still don't think this unprofessionalism is enough grounds to tag the process 'not merit based'.

I had my interview on the 12th of December, but I knew that I'll be getting the job since 11th December. My God told me that I'll get this job even before the interview.

Call me TOOOOO HOPEFULLY, or RELIGIOUS 'FANTASTIC' abi na fanatic self, I don't care. But this is my message: so long as I've not been contacted, it means nobody on Merit/Grace/Favor list have been contacted.

So if you are hopping to be in any of the above list, then trust me, no cause for alarm yet. We'll hear from them soon.

I also observed that in between the Stakeholders list and Merit/Grace/Favor list is Critical/Hopeless list. So you decide where to pitch your tent.

By the way, I'm preparing a pot of delicious and aromatic beans... I don't know if anyone is interested especially @hammer2010

DPR haven’t officially started calling or texting but they will do so soon. It’s only a matter of hours and days. The merit candidates will get messages. I repeat, the only pple that have their letters now are the stakeholders candidate and they are not up to 50.

Please let's all be patient, most people might be lying here. You don't know this people typing and posting messages. The reason why DPR recruitment takes lot of time is to frustrate stakeholders and to make them give up on the wait(I was told). Some married women where contacted to ask if they can be posted else were from where their family reside that's all. You've come this far without knowing anybody don't give up. These are tricks. DPR needs capable hands because of the nature of their job; so in as much as they might help some people e.g. family they still need people that can work.(correct me where necessary)

I’m forced to say you are a pessimist and it’s very hard for people like you to make decent changes and make things happen in your society.
Why not calm your nerves and chill till when it’s pver. About just 6 or 7 people confirmed that they have gotten their letters and you already concluded that there’s no merit candidates. You shouldn’t have applied when you are aware of all this.
NB- You forced me to spill all this on you. I don’t like engaging people here but you are really a negative to this forum

If you could go through the rigors of leaving a paper trail (texts and emails) for the first two stages of the recruitment (test and interview), common sense (very very common sense) suggests that you ensure the same applies to the last and most important stage of the recruitment (the distribution of letters). At least to present a semblance of fairness.

Even if you have selected your own candidates through whatever means, leave a paper trail just for professionalism. But we have abandoned reason, decency, and empathy and have embraced crassness.

Paraphrasing one commentator on the thread, even if they are contacted now the recruitment appears to have been tainted.

Perhaps I misunderstood a statement from one top boss "We are praying that politicians don't hijack the recruitment", reading between the lines "We are praying they allow us to do hijacking ourselves"

For those who are hurting right now, it will pass. Who knows you may yet be called. The most important thing though is that you do not miss the lessons this experience was meant to teach you.

But message in the attachment was actually exchange between me and representative from the DPR Public affairs (check out this number on DPR site: 08113952154) and I am sure that whoever replied the message would not want to miss-represent hid company (DPR). and beside the portal is still open till now and am sure they will not leave it open forever. Lets all just be patient until the end. Wish everyone all the best.

Ferguson I like ypur optimism. But if you are surrounded by the people who have gotten there's and hear what they said about this recruitment, you will react the way the guy is reacting. It is unheard of that fg recuitment is 80% merit. It has never been and there is a code of silence among the stakeholders candidates. Nobody talks. A lot of people on this nairaland has gotten theirs but will not talk . if I have I will not talk because it has become obvious that those that got theirs are highly connected. They will wait for the masses to get theirs before showing off and praising God and you will think they are among the merit This is not to say that some people will not get it on merit but it has never been 80%. Never , this is where I disagree with you. And if by what you quoted that people who have gotten are not more than 50 in number. 50 out of 300 or more candidates is too much and that's just speculation. It could be more than 50 which I am very sure of. No harm being optimistic but we should also be realistic so people can actually start moving on with or without apl.

I was actually replying the person who suggested you censor the PAU number. My statement was to reiterate that the PAU number should be not a secret thing as it is an avenue through which the public can interact with the department.
