I'd like to know if you consider Chile, Germany as weak opposition, if not, then why would you say Sweden and Colombia are weak teams?
My post yesterday only served to correct the notion that England had it easy in the run up to the semi finals as a means to discredict the lads, you were quick to draw the attention of everybody that England has had better teams in the past but were only unlucky to be knocked out by superior opposition, sounds true but you are only admitting that they were knocked out by clearly superior opposition now just cos you think it sways the argument in your favor...
If only we could see the other side of the coin after it lands on the floor, I am sure you'd come here to say Croatia are easy opposition, anything to discredit the teams you hate...

Croatia is stronger than the teams England has faced though Croatia is still not a traditional team
Team strength is on different level

Everton is different from Spurs and Spurs is different from Barcelona
E.g Tottenham(Croatia) is a strong team but is it the same as Barcelona(Spain) or Bayern(Germany). If you have to play the teams in the caliber Spurs all the way to the CL final vs playing Barcelona Bayern which one will you choose

PS: Dayo is the biggest winner in this semi-final. Hazard shaku-shakus his way out of a possible WC win, while England got booted out. He'll be boisterous tonight and have the edge over EPL fans again. What a dose of double blessings for him. grin grin.

God no dey sleep na. Belgium and England out to compete for the losers final

Not discrediting anyone, what matters is that they faced average and mediocre teams all the way from even the WC qualifiers coupled with their loudmouthed media who won't let social media rest with that "coming home" b.s.

Trying to enter WC finals through backdoor and making noise like they eliminated any big boy on their way.

Who were those defence? Panama? Tunisia? The quality of the defenders matters. The way they tore it apart matters more. England that can't string delicate passes for 30 seconds together were tearing defenders apart? How's that possible? Do you know apart from set pieces England scored I think only 2 goals from open play. The only defence they tore apart and bossed from start to finish was Panama. Even shame suppose catch you. Columbia took them to PK while Croatia, their first real test, battered and outclassed them from start to finish. Overhyped players!! Go rewatch the match and see as determination and great skills coupled with endless pressure exposed their mediocrity.

I really don't know if Marcus Rashford will amount to anything like his early potential suggested. It is a shame; from intelligent run-ins and burying chances with aplomb to headless-chicken activity-forming.

For the sake of our club, I wish him the very best.

He wont. He's requires a lot of good coaching and development. He won't get that under Jose.

I doubt so. He has lost his ways and it will be difficult to come back. He has been playing like that for a very long time now. I wonder why nobody has given him a dress down yet. Once he gets the ball he doesn't look up anymore, no intelligent play with teammates

Kane just another overrated piece of shîte! Mans cant even lace Rooney's boots even if he tried.

Useless striker wia no fit play anything if he no see PK!!
And that overrated Alli!!

I swear Eriksen dey try playing with those Donkeys everyweek!!

England and overrated players ehn!!

Kane is not overrated. He is the highest goal scorer in this world cup and has been the consistently highest scoring CF in one of the best leagues in the world(EPL). His style of football may not particularly be eye-catching and that is understandable.

He may not have had a good game yesterday but quit saying he is overrated.

6 goals including 3 pens and 1 deflection. He could as well be on 2 goals!!

Ok. Maybe he's not overrated. But he's definitely not worth the hype!! And he's definitely not Elite! We've seen elite strikers in their prime. Eg Aguero, Falcao, Lewandowski. An elite striker would not ve missed what he missed yesterday especially in such an important game!!

Been the highest goal scoring CF means nothing. If anything, it only tells half the story. U cant be padding goals against Burnley, Arsenal and West Ham every year and then be missing 1-on-1 in high stakes Semi-final matches!! That is not what i would call Elite!!

Jose is a part of his problem but of course not all of his problem. I think his attitude is mostly fine. He steps up and he takes responsibility and has no fear even at his age. Some may see that as him thinking he's already a star but I don't see that I just don't believe he's been pointed in the right direction about understanding the game and what he needs to develop in his game. He also needs to find his best position and work tirelessly on improving his basic skillset. Sometimes doing the sinple things well is the most important thing.

In this tournament, the three lions were not overhyped or hyped up in anyway, if one thing, nobody believed in this team...
Now if you think the whole Coming home chant was hype, then you obviously are getting things wrong, any team that reaches the quarters let alone the semis of any competition has the right to dream...We all detest the English but let that not blind us as to what reality really means...
It was Mou that said if we get to the quarter finals of the UCL, then and only then will he start believing...

Graeme Souness believes England have been a “back-to-front team playing very basic football” at the World Cup.

The former Scotland midfielder was speaking in his role as a pundit for BeIN Sports after England were knocked out by Croatia in Wednesday night’s semi-final.

Croatia came from behind to win 2-1 after extra-time – a result which prompted Souness to attack the Three Lions, with Jesse Lingard and Dele Alli specifically criticised.

Souness said: “I want to emphasise the midfield. You can’t win the big trophies, you can’t dominate football matches, you can’t put yourself in a position where you are not giving the ball away unless you’ve got good players in midfield who can keep the ball.

“I come back to Lingard and Dele Alli – two players who want to get on the end of things after there has been clever play by somebody else. “They don’t want to get involved in keeping the ball and dominating possession.

“They want to be involved in scoring the goals and getting on the end of things.

“And the make up of the team was all wrong tonight. All wrong tonight. When they come up against a decent team, I think it was inevitable that they were going to struggle.

“Let me explain. They played the worst team in the tournament in Panama. They played, along with Saudi Arabia, probably the second worst team in the tournament, Tunisia. “Put a line through the Belgium game, that doesn’t count.

“Then they play Colombia and in the second half, Colombia were much better than them. England came back in extra-time but only after a Colombia player hit the crossbar. “They get through on penalties.

“Then they play a team in Sweden who were in awe of England. Both played a similar sort of game; long ball and feed off the bits.

“Tonight is the first time, other than the Belgium game, that they have come up against a team who wants to pop it around and keep possession – and they really, really were shown up for being a back-to-front team playing very basic football.”

Harry Kane is two goals clear in the running for the Golden Boot, but Souness reckons the Tottenham striker will become fed up with playing such a style of football.

“Harry Kane never got a kick tonight,” said the former Liverpool midfielder. “Prior to tonight, he had five shots on target in all the games.
“Harry Kane does not get shots on target because nobody is passing him any quality passes.

“He’s not getting any supply. Harry Kane will come back from that with the Golden Boot, but I don’t know the boy he might be happy, but Harry Kane will not be happy playing in that style of football.”

Souness reaffirming my analysis last night. Every complaint of mine repeated by Souness. I knew I was right when I said Alli and Lingard were no match for Modric and Rakitic. While the latter duo controlled the game, the former duo ran up and down cluelessly, more concerned with scoring than controlling the midfield in order to wrestle the initiative from the Croatians. England were more concerned with kicking the ball forward for Sterling to chase. They couldn't string passes together for 20 secs without kicking the ball up handing the momentum back to Croatia every time. No striker would thrive in that tactic, not even the best CFs out there. And Pep's fanboys were already cűmming in their pants blindly attributing England wins and style to Pep when England were not playing anything close to Pep's style.

Odizeey, come read what I've been telling you since.

I knew that England's midfield will be a problem. but their attack and defense are solid. the plan to flood Croatia and overwhelm them with attacking prowess was working in the 1st half. they had the chances to bury the game but Kane just not in the game. so sad.

He is....If you think he isn't, try purchasing him and you will know how much valauable he is to Spurs and how much he would command in today's inflated transfer market.

You conveniently brought out a select group of players to compare with Kane. Aguero last outscored Kane in the EPL league in 2015. Kane has had more EPL goals than him in the last 3 seasons(2016, 2017 & 2018) so how you say Aguero is Elite and Kane is not is beyond words and Kane has even outscored him in this World Cup( no matter the type of goal).

Even Falcao has not done this domestically. I equally wonder when last you watched Lewandowski on actual performances and not on reputation.

You talked about missed chances...Every striker including Messi and Ronaldo have messed up lots of easy opportunities, Kane did it yesterday and it looks like it is the worst thing? Go and watch Ronaldo's unbelievable miss against Morocco as well as the penalty he failed to convert. Is Ronaldo also not elite?

The stats padding is done even by Ronaldo and Messi against cannon fodder La Liga teams so why do you single Kane out?

Harry Kane may not be aesthically the kind of striker you like or as talented as you feel but to call him overrated is just plain ridiculous.

He is one of the best three CFs in the game currently and if you think he isn't, then list out here(exclude Ronaldo & Messi) 5 strikers you think are better than him currently Sir...
