No, it is not compulsory. But it is very advisable, as you may need to demonstrate that you can support your trip at various points: plus, what happens if you inadvertently miss your connecting flight?

There were no issues at all

Me: Staten Island, NYC
CBP: Are you in possession of any Agricultural products

I took the next available Uber to NJ, my family were happy seeing me again. Thank you guyz. Thank you Oga Seye. Will be back in Naija in 3 weeks.

I was told it might be complicated explaining to the guys at Dulles, dat it is better I go through same POE which is NYC.
At NYC , they didn’t even ask me bout my family, I guess maybe because our initial 6months is still valid.

I need your advise. I got a US visa to attend a conference OTC conference in Houston Texas but couldn't make due to delay in my return from ofshore job. Now i intend to visit a cousin in charlotte NC or Nashvillein Tennessee, what possible questions should i expect at poe? I'm yet to buy my return tickets though.

I will suggest you share this question with the main U.S Visit visa section and my advice is that it's better you use the visa for what it was issued for which is B1 before using it for visit or tourism.

Try Wakanow,travelstart etc , what's your visa for? and why are you worried about if those airport are friendly or not?

New York State has many airport and two(2) of the biggest airport in New York State is located in New York City.
New York City is made up of 5 borough namely;
Manhattan,
Queens,
Brooklyn,
Bronx and
Staten Island not Harlem

The biggest airport in New York City is JFK airport which is located in Queens while there's LGA airport which is located in Queens as well..
There is another airport EWR which is located across the river/lagoon etc in Newark, New Jersey.
Almost every flight from Africa,Middle East and sometimes Europe mostly land in JFK or EWR in New York and New Jersey respectively.

My wife would be going to the US soon for delivery. Pls what are the Nigerian foods that she can go with that won’t pose a problem at the point of entry and also, what is the best packaging method we should use for these food items ?

You should post on the birth thread as suggested. I think it is better you post foods that she plan to carry along and whichever is not allowed will be pointed out.

Generally, all meat products are not allowed including Indomie chicken and chicken flavored "Maggi".

Getting wrong ke? OP (Original Poster) = You. You said New York Aiport, and is there anybody here that would have understood that as EWR that is even in New Jersey? Cheap flights depends on airline, your dates of travel, seat class, airline promos, distance and several other factors. Till you put your story out clearly, you will most likely get vague advise.... Now I read, dis dia talki talki tins, B1/B2, and Chicago POE in the mix, no clear talk from you still, make it clearer please.

I think the problem is choosing between JFK and EWR. I think for him to be this worried, there's something amiss, anyway any of those airport is okay.

Landed in Houston airport yesterday. Had a very easy POE experience. Here it goes

Me: good àfternoon ( passed my passport to him)

CPO: good afternoon to you too. Hope you are not too tire?

Me: (laughed) yes i am

CPO: place your right fingers here amd please take of your glasses. I dont want you to fall asleep here ( the officer was laughing)

Me: dont worry i can endure few more seconds

CPO: Are you here on vacation or....... ?

Me: Vacation

CPO: have a good day and enjoy your holiday

Note: did not ask if i am with any food stuff. Second time in the US.
