Which party do you think can unite Yorubas if not APC? Buhari might lose next year and I am sure politicians from other regions will go back to PDP leaving Yoruba leaders in the party. Before you know it, we are back to ACN. Do you think Northerners care about party? No they don't. Those guys have other alternatives. Their main aim is to rule Nigeria

Buhari is an elder statesman. Buhari is a gentleman soldier. In 2014, only PDP participated in the election. By this period of 2014 election, nairaland has gone off. We never enjoyed this update. Nairaland came back several hours later when Fayose had been declared winner. Also, several APC party leaders have been arrested & kidnapped before election commenced. Till date, I still believed Fayose had a hand in whatever made nairaland, a major information portal to go offline at a critical period. GEJ & Fayose tried in 2014. Buhari is a statesman.

he has been voted and express satisfaction on inec coordination of today's governorship election. his deputy governorship candidate too has been voted.

well, you're simply entitled to your opinion. I think the guy is right But let make something clear to you, fayose remains the best governor ever produced by Ekiti people and the facts are there. There's also no grassroot governor who understands his people like him. All the roads constructed by this guy when he first came are still there till today. I was shocked when he said he's not going to senate unlike other governors who would find their way into NA after their term expire. The state facilities constructed are there for people to see as well. I had my primary and secondary education in ekiti . I was born and brought up there so, I can tell you what you don't know about the state. The problem fayemi has is humongous. He's tinubu's boy. He was always consulting with the latter when he was governor and a few contracts awarded were being given to tinubu's appointees from Lagos, instead of giving same to Ekiti people. These guys would come, do a wishy-washy job and share the money. The ido-osi-ifaki road constructed by fayemi is in a sorry state now. It didn't even last 6 months before being eroded away. There's no election in Nigeria that isn't characterised by rigging, pls note. Fayemi and fayose rigged the last governorship elections only that fayose was smarter by working hard in the interior and hard-to reach places to canvass them for votes. Buhari's presidential election was also rigged massively in Kano and borno states, with the votes cast outnumbering the registered voters. Borno was counting millions of votes- a state devastated by boko haram with most of the voters resident in various idp camps. Jonathan election was also rigged massively in the south east and south south. Now, coming back to fayemi and why I feel he'd lose, the majority of those who'd decide today's votes are the teachers. Ekiti invests heavily in education, especially the public schools. Fayemi offended teachers when he was governor. He sacked them and asked those left to go on compulsory training to upgrade themselves and at their own expense. Fayose came, took all of them back and hired professionals to train them and he paid for their services. Now, do you expect same teachers to vote fayemi? He's believed to be coming to complete his agenda, given what elrufai did to kaduna teachers. Fayose is campaigning for his candidate , same way buhari and co came to support fayemi. Bola Tinubu did same when fashola and ambode were vying for same post. It's normal . Farmers are second on the list of majority voters. They know what's happening in Nigeria. They encouraged and supported fayose during their various deliberations before the law was established to check herdsmen. Now, do you expect these farmers to vote fayemi who would only come and repeal the anti open grazing law that has given them relative peace they're now enjoying? The economic mainstay of ekit is agriculture, followed by education. Those farmers are highly educated and over 70 per cent of the indigens are educated so, you can't bribe their conscience with money. They may take your money though. But would satisfy their conscience. That's why they say Ekiti people are strong-headed because their yes is a yes and no, is no.
Bros na u get time dey answer them....
they will surely see the result.
on a free and fair election, fayemi can't win a 5 lga

Just wait. More updates are coming and when you begin reading about these updates from credible media you will come back here and apologise.
can you just stop making a fool of yourself? trying to bad mouth a party as if the other ain't bad as well, I saw APC agents distributing money to their members yesterday, its the norms this days so just quit screaming bloody murder as if its only one party that is guilty.........may the best candidate win the election.

In our Nigeria today is it possible for an incubent to lose a govnorship election election to an opposition without winning a local government council has it happened before ? That is a fraud ,fayose knows this , gej knows this, pdp know this as well . That year result was written amidst clamp down on opposition and posterity is now judging . fayose has never won election as opposition to fg ,his first tenure was during obasanjo quest to wrestle power from AD (Alliance for Democracy) in the southwest we all know the role played by obasanjo in those dark days. The rest is history.Fayose second coming was during gej desperate intention to return to aso rock in 2015 , so he desperately needs the ekiti election to show that he is deeply rooted and accepted in southwest ahead of 2015 election.Ekiti election was heavily militarized and fayoye rode on that to oust fayemi. But the mistake he and his collaborators did was 16/0 , how possible it cannot fly that was humiliating , they went too far in the rigging fomulae. And i think thats what brought Fayemi back today to set the record straight.

Mr man face front.

We here in Ekiti have always lived peacefully with herdsmen even right from the time of our fathers with no incident. Not until political instigation began.

Even now we still live with them even in the fa e of all the stories of herdsmen activities and they have been very peaceful.

Is Taraba an APC state? If your answer is no then why are supposed herdsmen causing problems for them there?

Updates: Premium Times

At ijero, Ward A, Unit 002, at 8:45 a.m. Name of PU Maternity
A angry man reported to security officials that a party agent was sharing money to people to snap their ballot papers and get paid if they vote for his preferred party.
Security operatives eventually arrested the man accused of sharing the money.

He was, however, released a few minutes later. He refused to grant an interview.

An agent of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at Polling Unit 012, Igbemo Ward of Irepodun-Ifelodun Local Government Area has reacted to financial inducement by an agent of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the unit.

Adetunji Ojo, one of the two PDP party agents at the polling unit, admitted his party also paid potential voters.
He said the APC out-muscled his party financially and there is nothing he can do about it.

PREMIUM TIMES posted video evidence of financial inducement at the polling until.
An APC party agent, Bello Dauda, was caught on video sharing N5,000 to voters.

Mr Ojo earlier challenged Mr Dauda for openly campaigning for APC.
Confronted with questions on inducement, he said the APC were able to come out top in the vote-for-money game because they offer more than his party.

“There is nothing we can do,” he said “We have left them with their destiny. That they (APC) win this PU does not mean they will the election.

“Because PDP’s tip is 3000, and it was shared yesterday; while APC’s is 5000 that is why you see what is happening.
He said some of those who collected money from APC voted for PDP.

“I didn’t vote for APC. I’ll be mad to do so. I’m the second party agent. That’s the first party agent,” he said pointing to another agency who declined to speak.

“In fact, some of those who collected APC money voted PDP so it is not an issue. It is a matter of who is smart.”
The APC and the PDP are the two major contenders in the governorship election.
