I am looking forward to seeing Andreas Perreira, Tahith Chong, Ethan Hamilton, Angel Gomes and even possibly Mason Greenwood get some minutes on this tour.
JM should give the world cup paticipants enough rest and in doing that allow the younger ones to show us what they can do.

If Mourinho would allow them to play. Tbh, I'm not on board with Perreira. I don't see all the fuss about him except for his long range shots and setpieces/crosses.

Apart from the aforementioned, players like O'connor (Rb), Buffonge (a playmaking no 8, could be Pogba's understudy), Poole (CB/DM), Tosin Kehinde (a playmaking no 6, could be Matic's understudy), Mitchell (Lb), Willock (box-box CM, could be Fred's understudy) should all be looked at as well. O'connor may be deemed too young though.

Also, there's one left footed kid that plays exactly like giggs on the left wing but I can't remember his name right now (not Chong). I would love to see a true traditional winger in the team.

And there's Gribbin, a no 10 who's sluggish and lazy although quite talented and visionary however, no 10 are already dying breeds in today's era, especially a sluggish lazy one at that.

Except maybe Pogba, Man utd players no really turn up for this WC, Lukaku tried but at some point, he became useless.

Even De Gea had a WC to forget totally.

I disagree with this.

Lingard had a very good outing. Young too played his part in getting d England team to the semis. Apart from when Martinez had a brainfart and started him, Felaini did well to score some important goals for them. Lukaku probably should have scored more but he was very important in the Belgian set up making assists and 9f course, knowing when to leave the ball for a teammate to score the winning goal. Lindelof too in the heart of the Sweden defence.

So na Lukaku and Fellaini no kan get great outing? Abi no be the same bus stop dem drop? Pogba no dey the same team with Kante? As much as I hate that England team, I can't help but acknowledge Lingard and Young's contributions

The thing is, it is crazy to say Man Utd players didn't turn up when in fact, Chelsea had more players that didn't turn up compared to Man Utd.

I have not really seen O'Connor so can't comment on him. Buffonge should get a chance especially as he is turning 20 soon, he has pace, good technique and is strong compared to Gribbin who like you said is really best suited to the 10 role because of his vision and also due to his laziness and poor work ethic.

Tosin Kehinde is also a no 8 like Buffonge and not a no 6. Ethan Hamilton is probably the best no 6 in the youth ranks (though not eye catching) and i think he is more of a midfielder than McTominay whose developement was altered by positional changes and his growth spurt.

You are right about Willock, he is the best box-to-box we have in the team but i don't think he has enough technical ability.

Gribbin is uber talented but weak, lazy, slow and has a bad attitude.

The only talented left footed attacker i remember in the youth set up is Mason Greenwood but he plays more as a striker for now, the other quick winger is Zach Dearnley but he is right footed.

Though Gomes gets most of the hype i trust Chong more cos he is bigger, has more speed IMO, and very crucially is not English born.

It told me something all right, something I and few others had already explained in the past on this thread. Something that made me realise I should stop blaming Mourinho for Pogba's inconsistencies after the manager had stood up for him and played him in different positions to get the best out of him and yet he keeps being inconsistent.

We need to stop putting all the blame on Mourinho for every wrong when it comes to Pogba. The truth about Pogba is, he's talented, our best midfielder, BUT pogba thrives when he's surrounded by stars IMHO. Where much expectation is not placed on him. Where he doesn't need to hustle hard to help the team win titles. Pogba is not a player to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and turn it around like he did against Man City. Players like Zidane and Gerrard can do such. Pogba thrived in Juventus and thrives in France because of the talent surrounding him. He's never the midfield kingpin in Juventus and amongst a midfield of Kante, Matuidi, Griezmann, not to mention a bench of Tolliso, Nzonzi, and Raboit who wasn't called up, Pogba doesn't have so much expectation on him and he works perfectly in such conditions.

Pogba will thrive excellently in a club like PSG with array of stars, but in a club like United where he's the star player surrounded by not too great players, he'll struggle as we've been seeing. I'll quote a post of Afrodöc that supports my position on Pogba.

Before this submission by Afrodöc, I'd already written a similar statement, and have since stop heaping ALL the blame on Mourinho for Pogba's inconsistencies. Mans not serious!! I'm quick to blame Mou for many things, but you see that of Pogba? Count me out. I still stand on my earlier position which is that if Barcelona can bring up to 180m for him, sell him off!! He's a good player, but since we lack stars all through the team, Pogba MAY never be what most of us dream he'd be. I won't miss him if he's gone coz he hasn't done anything tangible to create wonderful memories I'll miss when he's gone like the likes of Rooney, Ororo, Giggs, Scholes, Vidic etc.

Are you even a world class player if you can't dominate a game by yourself...Pogba is just hyped and useless.

Tosin Kehinde can definitely play a no 8 role and as a wide left midfieder but he's at his best as a 6. I would say United u23 looked good with him, Buffonge and Barlow in midfield at the earlier stage but the stupid coach, Sbragia decided to change the whole team because the team kept on conceeding. He should have looked to amend the defence instead and I think the last straw was the match against Westham where our first team player, Luke Shaw had an awful game and looked abject all through. The team looked good going forward but abject in defence just like their other previous matches and I think the match ended in a 4-2 loss with Shaw culpable for the 4 goals conceeded.

Since then, the foolish coach banned Kehinde, Buffonge, Boonen (that's the left footed player I was talking about) and others from the first team eventhough these 3 were the best players in the team. He brought in Chong, Hamilton, Redmond, Gomes and some others instead. Out of all these new players brought in, only Chong has been impressive while Gomes has shown glimpses of his talent here and there but the whole team were horrible without any control nor creativity unlike the start of the season. I think the team almost relegated or so.

And I don't rate Hamilton. Decent player with the occasional goals but that's all.

I know Boonen but i don't think he has the pace or trickery needed. If he wasn't pacy but had Hazard/Iniesta technique it would be manageable but i think he is just average, he is definitely not Giggs.

Hamilton may or may not be average but he is the only one in that midfield that circulates the ball the way a DM/CM should, almost all the others are runners or dribblers. He understands the position and his duties better than the others. Poole might have been a great option but he is another whose education has been marred by countless matches playing as an undersized CB and as a slow FB.

The team was conceding cos all the good defenders were on loan or training with the first team, RoShaun Williams and Warren don't look like they will be good enough.

Boonen not pacy or trickery? I'm not talking of Bohui or Bukart. The latter names almost confused me. Boonen is quite quick and trickery with wonderful left wand for pinging in lovely ball into the box.
Anyway, he's already left the club. He turned down a new deal for more playing time at a new club. Kehinde is also considering a move to Barca B. Maybe Buffonge would join next although English players hardly move abroad but he may join another English club. That stupid Sbragia really fvcked up.

Yea, I'm quite aware of some defenders leaving for loan but the point is the whole team became rubbish as soon as those 3 players got benched.

IIRC, only Poole, and Mctominay left the u23 team 'cos Tfm, Tauzenbe were with the first team 2 seasons ago. Not also forgetting Harrop who was their best creative player and the one who gave them lot of control in midfield. Kehinde and Buffonge were able to replace Harrop effectively at the earlier stages and the team got some good points regardless of their awful defence but the foolish coach would rather discard the whole team only to replace them with garbbage players and in the end got relegated. Ffs, only the defence needed sorting out. I wouldn't have minded Chong on the right though.

Like I stated earlier, I don't rate Hamilton, he's not even as good as Mctominay whom I don't rate either.
The ones I can see right now are Chong, Buffonge, Kehinde, Gomes, Poole, Riley, Mitchel and O'connor.
