Ndidi Enters Arsenal’s Radar

Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi could become the next Nigerian player to start for Arsenal of England, as The Gunners are said to be in the hunt for his signature.

Following two sterling seasons with The Foxes, Ndidi has caught rapt attention from far and wide, with latest hints now emerging that he could be on the way to joining fellow-Super Eagles star, lex Iwobi at Emirates Stadium this summer.

The Arsenal link comes at a point Ndidi has not been included in the equation at Leicester, who are reportedly ready to hand Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire new contracts.

Without any mention of reward for Ndidi’s superlative form, The Foxes will offer new big money deals to World Cup stars Maguire and Vardy when they return from Russia.

The England pair are due back next week and Foxes bosses are keen to keep hold of both players.

Leicester want to put Maguire on around £80,000-a-week and Vardy on £120,000 a week as boss Claude Puel aims to strengthen his squad after Riyad Mahrez’s £60million move to Manchester City.

Manchester United are the latest club to show an interest in defender Maguire, who has starred at the World Cup under Gareth Southgate.

However, a top official at King Poweer Stadium insists Ndidi has not been left out of the picture, with a declaration that Leicester are set to try and secure the youngster’s long-term future by rewarding him with a pay rise.

Leicester will be buoyed by Ndidi’s comments that he is happy with where he is and denied that he is contemplating a move elsewhere.

“A transfer has never been on my mind, I feel very good at Leicester,” said Ndidi, whose 15 tackles during the Super Eagles’ three matches at Russia 2018 World Cup are still the joint-second overall at the tournament.

Players should always worry about helping their team win. Lets say your team is 1 goal down with 30 seconds left on the clock, would u tell the referee "please sir, don't give us a penalty we need to score a real goal?". Scoring great goals is a bonus but winning is ultimate and sometimes you have to win ugly or by luck.

A goal is a goal when judging the result of games but penalties shouldn't count as 1goal when calculating the coefficient to award top scorer in a championship.

Reminds me of those days in the Nigerian league when Okey Odita, a centre back used to get among top scorers with the mandatory 9 penalties every season while the overall top scorer usually finished with 14 goals with about 10 coming from pens.
I think I have made my point though.

No they are not and probably don't even know where to start.

He is not coaching them so what does he need a UEFA A grade badge to do.

This is about engagement continous consistent relationship with honesty and openness.

There is no EPL academy without a good percentage of Nigerian origin players.

But across all the leagues you will find Nigerian origin players.

This requires someone who is in England it's not a holiday trip. It's literally a full time job. Without an investment thier is no return.

Ademola Lookman went from Sunday football not even non league semi pro to the EPL in barely three years. How many other players are there like him ❓

Looking for outstanding talent is really uncovering what the mainstream clubs have over looked for whatever reason.

What our guys do is get into relationship with agents and players in academies and really don't do any real legwork. So what become more important is not your performance but your club and agent. That's juat laziness.

Then there are the boys who are in academies who may or may not ever make it to the first team.

Playing in an Academy is mostly indicative not conclusive. Barely 76% of academy players end up playing professional football. That should tell you something.

In reality there are more boys going up to professional football than those who went through the academy route. That's a bewildering statistic.

Building relationships is not an Oga and my boy approach particularly in England, that will not work.

You need someone with genuine passion and a desire to get the best players not the best deal for self interest.

However, maybe I am dreaming is that possible in our country today. To pursue the IDEAL before the deal. You tell me.

I am so impressed with the way Brazil keeps churning out fine breed of players. In the recent World Cup, we had Willian, Coutinho, Neymar, Renato Augusto, Firmino, Gabriel Jesus, Marcelo, Douglas Costa and others in the squad.

With all the hype about the Real Madrid wonder kid, Vinicius, there is still RODRYGO who I feel is another special talent emerging from Brazil.

Rodrygo is just seventeen and looks to have a big career ahead of him.

We need to put in a lot of work in improving the state of football in the country, both on a professional and amateur level to grow as a footballing nation.

The closest to winning the Balon d'Or based on World Cup performance lies with Luka Modric who has clearly been the best player of the competition. Keeping in mind he was part of the Record breaking Real Madrid team and a key player in their triumph.

However, Ororo takes it for me. His match against Spain was the most electric, coupled with his brilliant season with the record breaking Real Madrid team. The bicycle kick comes to mind.

I repeat, tackling alone won't get the big clubs rushing to sign you. Chelsea, Liverpool, Man utd and Arsenal have already signed DMs outside England without as much as putting in a bid for Ndidi who is the top tackler in the EPL.
This should tell you the direction these clubs are looking at.
