The most-anticipated Ekiti governorship election have come and gone and finally a winner have emerge governor-elect in the person of Dr. Fayemi Kayode of the APC but looking at the various intriguing dramas that preceded the election, some APC apologists are already using the victory in Ekiti as a yardstick that would determine the outcome of the 2019 election: one of the apologists with the handle salvationproject even created a thread that graced the front page of nairaland in a chest beating euphoria, how laughable?

https://www.nairaland.com/4618578/5-lessons-nigerians-should-learn

Below are five things APC MUST be concerned about in preparation for 2019.

1. We know this Is Oshiohmole's First Victory

We all know this is Oshiohmole’s first victory as APC chairman, just as much he knows he has a huge task ahead of him come 2019.

2. APC/Buhari Is Definitely NOT Going To Win 2019

We all know how outgoing Governer, Fayose has been a torn in the flesh of Buhari/APC, So, its normal that the present administration will be desperate to win, they will employ every merchinary within their reach to prove a point, this doesn't represent the views of the masses who complain bitterly of the poor state of governance, poverty, disregard for the rule of law, romance with glaring fraud, unending certificate scandals...just to name a few. The government have failed her integrity test.

3. 2019 election will be a walk over.

Nigerians are tired of this administration, it is evident in the whirlwind of social media vent of anger and frustration which was similar to what happened prior 2015. In fact, I remember the heat on nairaland back then. APC supporters claiming those complaining on social media won't influence the outcome of 2019 should ask PDP how they lost in 2015.

4. Many APC faithfuls would wish they made an early decision to join the emerging political force.

Just as prior 2015, APC became a force by the merging of political parties, same is happening now with political parties merging with PDP. A wise APC supporter should follow suite and join the force or be embarrassed come 2019

5. The Formidable Power to kick APC out of the seat of power is still at a teething stage before and during the Ekiti election, The merger will mature into a formidable power come 2019.

Two heads is and will always be better than one, a political party merger is and will always be an advantage. The new merger with the PDP is still very young and have not even began their ground work, they are still in the situation room and were not even part of the just concluded Ekiti election.

Conclusion: It would be unwise for APC to use their victory in the just concluded Ekiti election as a yardstick of winning the coming election in 2019.

All l can see is that Nigeria elections is a do or die election and people are easily bought with money to vote for candidates.
I will also say all elections should be unified assuming this election took place when other governorship elections are taking place , no governor will leave his state to support a candidate in another state and their won't be too much influence from the federal level on a particular state when elections are taking place in other places.

When would we stop voting parties and start looking at the personalities of the candidates involved?

An onlooker would definitely know a Fayemi is more purposeful and visionary than a Fayose or any candidate he is likely to present.

Americans voted Trump as a lesser evil of both candidates then. If they were to vote for the party, Hillary Clinton under the democrat would have won because Obama still had a great level of influence on the people.

Let's stop this show of shame. Don't let candidates without purpose hide under the guise of any party to win your heart. Let their personality and integrity lead them to victory.

It is only then that political prostitution would be a thing of the past.

In 2014, a PDP president, Jonathan was in power. Ekiti was ruled by APC. During the election in Ekiti, Jonathan sent massive military presence to Ekiti. Some APC chieftains were arrested a night before the election. Through this little help from the PDP president, PDP won in Ekiti.
In 2018, the president is APC while PDP is ruling Ekiti. Buhari has paid back fayose in the same coin Jonathan paid the APC in 2014. There was huge military presence in Ekiti, PDP chieftains were arrested a night before this election. NowFayemi and APC are celebrating their victory, but what next...

Jonathan was voted out of office in 2015 after helping PDP to win Ekiti in 2014.
In the same way, Buhari will be voted out of office in 2019 after helping APC win Ekiti in 2018.

For your mind now, you have made valid points ba?

Concluding APC will not win the next presidential election is the most presumptuous phenomenon.

Give us valid reasons why APC will lose the Presidency next year.

APC has nothing to worry about..They have won the Presidential elections already via massive and unprecedented rigging....Only the gullible voters who have no intention of voting APC will bother voting next year.

Better sit at home next year if you have no intention of voting for APC so you dont waste your time.

Waste of data. Cry me a River. Congratulating PMB in advance. Real voters decide election not social media analyst. Most of them doesn't have PVC. Once again, congrats to Fayemi and PMB in advance.

The Ekiti people have with these results shown that they are educated and cannot be tossed around like grasses in the wind. Four years ago they went back to Egypt but today they are out of Egypt on the way to the promised land. Thanks to Ekiti people for collecting Eleka Olusola and Fayemi 's money and still voted according to their preferences and consciences. The money you all collected is our money. Spend it as you like. It is glarring that Fayose and his tatalong Eleka have lost the goodwill of people who are yet to see communal development they desire and effects of good governance on the masses. Ekiti with people cannot be deceived with stomach infrastructure again. Fayemi the governor elect should use his good intention to put smiles on Ekiti people. To whom much is given much is expected. I rejoice with the winner and sympathise with the loser. Thank you Ekiti .Thank you all the masses in the state. Thank you all the civil servants. Thank you all the youths and students. You are welcome to the promised land flowing with honey and milk.

Bro, you said it all. But many nigerians don't know this.
Drnice2:
The same way you Nigerians keep shouting APC won't win Ekiti election. What's happening? Fayemi(APC) won! Even tonyebarcanista, lalasticla.la, domin.que, mynd.44 are politically declined of what I'm about to say below.
Enough of this scrap mehn! Your PVCs don't count. Believe me or not, there's always a British Collusion. Britain dictate who wins, they influence Nigerian election.
They(Britain) won't tell you this, because they love Slavery, and keep appointing Slaves(Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba, now APC) as leaders.
Follow the Igbos and say "we refuse to be slaves."
They hate us for this. #Biafra, our hope!
