Be at the embassy before 6 am. Make sure you are among the first set to interview. carry 6 months bank statement. Best of Luck. If you are interviewed by the elderly woman @ABuja embassy better for you. In God put God first. I have never seen someone that puts God first and was disappointed. VECOH1: 6 Likes |

Oh! I didn't know the fat one was the usual rootless VO. I got interviewed by the fine fair Black Lady in my first interview and she's got no joy, she should be avoided by all means. Her demeanor is not welcoming at all and can throw you off balance. I will post my transcript in due time. 4peace4: 2 Likes |

precyrich68: NefT: precyrich68: thanks for the contribution. so at this point, what should I do differently before applying again? ? I am not married, I am returning home to manage the family plantation . How else do I prove my ties to home country? ? Note : During my interview, the consular officer just asked me two questions : a. why did you choose the school? ? Through strong recommendations from friends studying in the US . Paul and Virginia Engler college of Business west Texas a & m university has a strong reputation for outstanding performance in business. administration since its inception in 1910. it's is among the top ranked business schools in the USA. secondly, the school offered me graduate assistantship to pay tuition and fee at an instant rate rather than as an international student. b. who is paying the balance of your fees? Mrs xxxx xxxx , my elder sister. That was all. she handed me an already typed rejection letter. saying my application is being rejected this time, no proof of enough ties to home country. I want to apply again, what do I do differently? ? |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by Northeastern: 7:26am On Jul 17, 2018 |
precyrich68: Good morning, The VOs would always tie rejection to something. The reason for your rejection was because you were not prepared. Home ties is given less emphasis when it comes to F1 Visas. Read the transcripts here and you would be fine. Your response to the question posed was off point and at best not adequate. Read through the transcripts here and also download the compiled transcripts on the first page of this thread. Search for a user called folmus and go through his profile, he posted a Facebook link to some F1 orientation videos by consular officers. Once you've done the above, do a proposed transcript and post it here for fine tuning. Thank you 3 Likes 5 Shares |

Try to go through the compiled transcripts of successful approvals. In your reasons for choosing the school, assistanship should come first in your reasons then saying recommendations from friends is not always a good way to go. EducationUsa, online research or may be your mentor (School professor) is better than saying your friends that are studying in the US. Draft out a proposed transcript and cross check with friends to see if it's convincing enough and engage in constant mock interview consistently for a week or two before your interview. Let your story be consistent and remember every details in your application including your first interview. Then put God first before anything. precyrich68: 1 Like |

Hello everyone, I was refused F1 visa sometime early July in Abj. I have been able to secure another interview in Lagos this Saturday. This was my previous transcript: VO: So you'll be going for a Master's in Electrical Engineering right? Can you tell me about this course? Me: The course runs for about 18 months in which I'll be doing 31 credit courses comprising subjects like: Power System Analysis, distributed generation, etc..I'll also have to present a research thesis to successfully complete this course. VO: Okay, so who will be sponsoring you? Me: I will be sponsored majorly by my uncle, he's a production supervisor at ..oil company. Although I also have some cash saved up. VO: Can I see his SOA please? ME: passes it to him..(three different SOA) VO: Where does he live? ME: Delta state VO: *Flips through very quickly* Are you married? Me: No VO: I'm sorry, You do not qualify for visa at this time. N/B: On my I20 it my Funding was written as "family funds" because I provided statements of 3 people to the school: Myself, my uncle and My office colleague. My uncle's Statement was the most funded that's why I mentioned him as my major sponsor. Was this approach wrong? Should I have mentioned "my family" as sponsors? Or should I have said "Myself, to be supported by my Uncle where necessary"? Because I'm gainfully employed and have some substantial amount saved up. Funny enough I wasn't even asked about my job or my travel history. It was weird... I'd really appreciate a reply. Thanks. |

Hello Guys I hope you all are having a good day. Pls I would be going for my visa interview soon for my Masters in Information Systems and Technology at University of Michigan Dearborn(UMD) and honestly the major reason I applied to UMD is because of the opportunity to interact and experience what goes on in the FORD MOTOR COMPANY(excites me when I imagine it) as I currently work as a ford service advisor with coscharis motors but I really do not know if its a convincing reason. I also found that UMD has relatively small class sizes which sounds good to me as I would get the opportunity to interact with my professors and peers easily especially in terms of solving problems and sharing ideas. pls go through and let me know what you think. |
