My dear, the sum of a man's life in the experiences he has is a function of the way he looks at a cup of water, either as half full or half empty. You simply cannot live better than you think. And I think it is time we as a people begin to face some harsh realities.

A lot of our parents did not live wisely and responsibly and this is why we experience individually and collectively this harsh, hostile society we have. To excuse that is to tend to repeat the same mistakes given the same set of circumstances. Someone somewhere has to break the chain and the first step is to admit failure.

If perhaps my children in time to come look back at Nigeria or my life and they see something illogical or really bad, they have every right to crticise me for not remediating or delivering better results. I also wonder about that court. But they have difficult and complicated cases to handle. Most times at least one party has thoroughly had it. Cases there clearly demonstrate the problems of society as they affect marital unions and children: Ignorance, poor choices, poverty, infidelity and lack of organised state social service system to intervene promptly in family and children matters.

Funny story. But in reality part of what intending couples should discuss is the number of children they want to have. However it is irresponsible of the man to abandon the wife and six children.
