Kog45: As a striker, Success offers a higher conversion rate than what above shows because he played mostly as a wide player. |

Kog45: Awoniyi also made series of loan moves before achieving his current status. Osimhen is still a very young player developing and will find his feet with the right system and support. The U17 is a ground for identifying talents and just like the last World Cup paraded some good previous U17 talents like Neymar, Pogba and Hazard, it remains a yardstick for knowing players that show promise. It takes hard work and dedication to convert it to a gold mine and also commitment of outside sources. |

TheGoodJoe:As U17 player abi or Granada B player cos he had 7 goals in 7 appearances for eaglet which was awesome and also 9 goals in 20 appearances for Granada B team. But as a wide player i don't see Success Isaac as a solution to our striking issues at WC.And as a striker his stats as pro player doesn't guarantee it. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: Ighalo was more decisive for Watford than this guy. What's the rationale paying £50M for someone who didn't score a single goal in the 2nd half of last season? We are not talking about a proven talent. He's not even an international for his Brazil. His first season in Europe, he score just 5 times and while at Brazil he has never hit double figures in his career. You pay £50M for 5 goals? Laughable for a club like Everton to have paid £90M for Richarlison and Sigurdson combined. Lol |

Isaac Success appears to be taking his career a lot more seriously. He did a lot of work personally even before the preseason started. So far, he has been one of the most impressive Watford players in preseason. If he continues, he might get back to a good level. 3 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:I'm not disputing his talent but better for him to go on loan than wasting away in very average team like Wolfsburg. My point is why on trial to secure a loan move to Belgium league, not really good for his stocks. 1 Like |

Kog45: Success suffered from lack of dedication and has not lived up to his potential. That is what Boss Icon4s is pointing out. If Success was disciplined, focused and hardworking, he would have been the solution to our attacking problems considering his undeniable talent. That is the point. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:47am On Jul 22, 2018 |
Kog45: If Osimhen has been working hard and remained disciplined, he will be convincing in training and secure the loan move. I see nothing wrong in that giving the limited opportunity he had in Wolfsburg. The Belgian club do not have enough current data on him and a close assessment seems the best choice. After that, he can work his way up. |

tbaba1234: Good for Success but he is still very overweight. He needs to show more dedication and discipline. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:50am On Jul 22, 2018 |
tbaba1234: I do not think we should tag one of the most hardworking players in the EPL a potential. Players are not judged only by goals but other contributions which Richarlison delivers in large amount. |

TheGoodJoe:Might be more disciplined but Iwobi is more talented and has done more in my book. I think people are starting to underrate Iwobi now. Of course he hasn't helped himself but that doesn't negate his ability. |

goldfish80: It's because he is Brazilian Richarlison is not worth more than 20 million. He is not even watford best player last season. Richarlison is just an average player, wingers like Winifred zaha are better than him but yet they will argue to pay 50m for zaha Everton is a stupid club,Everton been paying big money for average players since 18bc |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 8:55am On Jul 22, 2018 |
Kog45: That was because he was played wide. Success is a natural CF. I believe he would have flourished more if groomed as a CF. That boy had this killer instinct. I say it again that if Isaac Success had fluorished to his potential someone like Ighalo would not have have been our top 9. That is also the point being driven by TheGoodJoe. 1 Like |

The first consideration for Nigerian youth players is money. Players are not looking for the best deal for their careers, they are looking for who pays more. The two Nwakalis had the world at their feet at the end of the under 17 WCs, They could have started off at smaller clubs where they get the chance of development and stability. Instead, they join big teams that ship them on loan to a new club each season. English teams where it is difficult to get work permits. Musa Muhammad made the decision to go to Turkey and he is nowhere. Musa Yahaya is stuck in Porto's B team. Look at the trajectory of Ndidi's career, he started at a small club where he got the needed minutes to improve. If he keeps building on his game, he might be at a major club soon. 5 Likes 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe: Consider the bold for me it's a ground for potential talent in theory. However, in Nigeria because of our penchant for arrangements, favoritism nepotism and under table deals. We are not always sure. We kill it at youth level and that's where it mostly ends. Consider our class of 2009 and compare us the runners up to those teams that got to quarter finals. See thier player development. Awoniyi is the same age bracket as Osimhen has gone far far ahead of him in every respect. The two can not compared. Awoniyi is moving up Osimhen us down and moving nowhere. Awoniyi he has numerous clubs after him if not for work permit issues he will on loan in the championship. Osimhen is still literally a youth player in lowly Bundesliga club. These matters must be seen in context. If for instance he was in Bayern and played 13 games in two seasons we could say progress although very slow. But he is in a club with very limited competition yet he is doing Little or nothing. Why was Awoniyi not invited to the SE there 100% more rational and justification. But he was not and Osimhen was. ❓ ❓? ❓ 1 Like |

tbaba1234: I agree but I would look at in context and add the activities of our agents , NFF, club owners The problem is thier greedy uncaring uninformed agents who tie them to slave contracts. In addition look at them as cattle to be sold to the highest bidder. Go to Belguim in Antwep and see hundred of Nigerian footballers brought to Europe and abandoned, now washing cars to survive after shattered dreams. Even in Turkey too. Then add to that the age cheating, behind the age cheating are agents and Nigerian football academy owners. It's all very elaborate manipulation. Men of 30 brought to Europe as teenager or 21 year old , it then within a few years becomes apparent. I feel sorry for these boys thrown to these hungry Sharks and Piranha fish called agents. |

tbaba1234: It is most unfortunate that just a handful of our 2013/2015 U17 world champions are playing at decent level. The rest of them are either out of contracts or vanished into obscurity. We would have been screaming age cheat if this was Pre-MRI. You can sight the Ndidi example but many of those boys went to mid range clubs yet haven't gotten to Ndidi's level. The bottom line is that if we fail to build our league and solemnly depend on European clubs to develop our talents, nothing, I repeat, absolutely nothing will change from this reverse developments. If FIFA's ban will lead to a restructure of Nigerian football, I am all for it. This scam empire should to be ripped apart. 2 Likes |

Development is more important than the club size which is intrinsically linked to the big word OPPORTUNITY. If you are in a big club unproven and untested and in reality under developed with limited understanding of the European game. In many regards you have been set up too fail. I have watched people abuse me here and throw vitriolic rhetoric at me. I get players to understand the nature of the competition and what they will have to go through. The issues of discrimination racial and otherwise, how to overcome and overtake, how to pursue excellence for success. I prepare them for this war called football. I don't tell them they will be given preferential treatment because they are Nigerians. And they will be looked upon with sympathy because of thier hard personal circumstances. That would be preparation for FAILURE. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by goldfish80(m): 9:57am On Jul 22, 2018 |
komekn: These so called academies are glorified human trafficking rings. They take undocumented players to Norway, Belgium, Portugal and some of these Baltic countries for "hustling". It is really sad their activities are not regulated. Some of them don't even have address. They train at community primary schools and other government facilities. I met 3 Nigerian guys who were supposed to sign for Benfica but looking at them, you can tell they were working on construction sites in Portugal. Somethings are better left unsaid. 1 Like |

tbaba1234: D only reason ndidi made such move was because he had no oppt of joining a big club since d MRI ruled him out for d u17.its only on dis thread we seem to paint every "perfect" as if we re no longer nija breeds, castigating our players going for money b4 career. If we re also faced with d same opportunity, we would also go for money b4 career considering d country economy and also where we re coming from,we can't ignore dt reality A read somewhere dt a certain olayinka left his club in belgium to a club Czech and we re saying its a bad move, who told u its a bad move, considering d money involve and also his REAL age? Coupled with our situation here in nigeria ,if I b d guy broda, and he refuses to move,na FAMILY MEETIN STRAIGHT Even an Ndidi who is our hottest "thorough bred Nigeria player"(not half bristish,German/nija players o)those ones might not move, nidid will go to China if dey meet his buy out clause and he is given a juicy contract of €20M per year.he won't think twice b4 leaving,to hell with what sport pundit will write or say abt d move when thick money is involved. 4 Likes |

goldfish80: Even in the pre-MRI days, there were genuinely young players who got scammed by greedy agents or simply did not develop. Sinama Pongolle and La tallec never reached the heights in spite of their exploits at under 17. It is inevitable that many under 17 and even under 20 talents will fall by the way side but it is worse for African players who have no leg to stand on. Isaac Success and Ndidi are two players who followed similar paths. Isaac Success success at Granada helped him secure a premier league move but he has not lived up to expectation yet. Some of the league problems are symptoms of the general society. It will take serious minded people with great resolve to fix the league and that could take years. |
