elyte89: I laughed reading this but you made good points. Many players are from poor backgrounds with plenty mouths to feed so money is the first consideration. |

komekn: Osimhen has done well so far. Even if he did not break through at Wolfsburg, he got a shot there. Awoniyi is over a year older than Osimhen, he is yet to get a full shot at a recognized club. Awoniyi has not slugged it out with players of the likes of Origi and Mario Gomez. So it is not accurate making it look like Awo had a smooth trajectory. He is still on loans, trying to make a name for himself. Same with Osimhen. If the Belgian league pays off for Osimhen this season, I doubt I will rate him behind Awo. Awo made his break last season and Osimhen who is a year behind I think has learnt enough in the Bundesliga which Awo has not had that level of exposure, to make a shot for him self. 2 Likes |

komekn: Simple, Success came up as a striker and was identified as a potential quality hitman. Due to competition, he was forced to play wide, which hinders his finishing ability. Remember Lukaku playing wide at Chelsea and not looking top quality. Boss Icon4s pointed out that if Success had a smooth path in his development as a striker, we would not have had our current striking problem. I wonder why such an accurate statement is causing people heartaches. |

edi287:In the current state of football, hard work and discipline edges talent. Richarlison is a monster on the pitch when it comes to hard work. So I doubt we can use Iwobi's balling talent to put him ahead of Richarlison. |

tbaba1234: If Kyle Walker and Stones could go for about £50m each, I doubt that is a big tag for a player like Richarlison. |

Kog45: I take the time at Wolfsburg as a learning phase for the young man. Especially the time he worked with Mario Gomez. He would have picked some gems from the striker. From here, Osimhen is giving himself a shot to reach the top of the game. |

TheGoodJoe:Still don't think he's ahead. Talented no doubt but Iwobi has balled against the likes of Barca and Chelsea. Iwobi 16/17 season was better than Richarlison 17/18. Had a better season than Iwobi last season but that's where it ends. |

A hint of how high I rated Richarlison long before his current move. This comment was made during a discussion if Success should leave Watford and go on loan: TheGoodJoe: https://www.nairaland.com/3018619/super-eagles-thread-afcon-2019/2219 |

komekn: There u go again bending truths. He started his contract with Wolfsburg in December 2016 so how come only u has it that he was injury free at that time? Last I check by December almost half the season is gone so what larger part of the season are you talking about? Now u want to play the victim instead of admitting you are wrong. I have given proof, I stand to be corrected. Players of all ages are on benches waiting to be given their chance, for goodness sakes that is why they call them squad players! Victor is not 21, he is 19. You are setting standards that don't exist. The journey to the top will always have many routes. At 22 Jesse Lingard only had 5 senior appearances for Leicester City but now he is a big player at man U and just finished playing the world cup. Nobody is calling him the next best thing since sliced bread so there is no need to bash him. We can all just wait to see how he performs this season. - 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: He had a fast start to season but finished very poorly. Watford should collect the money because that price is highway robbery. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 11:18am On Jul 22, 2018 |
TheGoodJoe: Walker and Stones are English players, who are already overpriced. They were also bought by a billionaire club with money to spare, which also makes the selling club increase their price. Richarlison does not tick those boxes. |

Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Nigeria & Senegal were all eliminated in the group phase in Russia, leaving Africa without a rep in the knockout stage for the first time in 36 years. This is a meeting with agendas, u dont even know if one of the agendas is to device a means to improve the African talents in order to have word class players instead of average players. This is the first time CAF, football associations, coaches and related bodies are coming together for a debrief after a world cup. Commendable...all it takes to win the world cup is proper youth development, good organisation, playing discipline, luck and referee reading the VAR in your favour...you are ready to go.. NO AMOUNT OF PRAYER CAN GIVE YOU THE COUPE MONDIALE[WORLD CUP] |

Kog45: His season was blighted by injury and off field controversy. By the time he got to Malaga it was too late. He returned a better man and is willing to put in the work that his talent deserves, even getting a personal trainer for the offseason. I expect a monster season from Isaac nothing less because he has all the needed tools. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli: Dude was a delight to watch in his last three matches for Malaga, he even won a man of the match award in one of the three matches where he was so unplayable. If he could check his excesses and be lucky with injuries, he would be devastatingly awesome for Eagles as a top 9 flanked by onyekuru and Simon with either of Achor or healthy Bazee behind him. Bazee has been superb so far in their preseason games |

goldfish80: Bro I have been to Portugal and I have seen how African players are treated. They get paid absolute peanuts. Imagine a U21 youth player in a division 1 team in Portugal struggling to take home €1500 that's madness. They put them in hostels give a few games and sell. It's just marketing and business to them. Thankfully TPI is now outlawed in Portugal and they have caught up with progressive Europe to some degree. |

Humility017: Very silly i tell you...when i look at most of clubs our players sign...i just remember Mexico and Boxing...most Mexicans professionally fight to escape poverty...so do our players....who have brothers and sisters waiting, including cousin, nephews and nieces with extended hands. But it is baffling that those who need the money most rush to sign for the money and those who really have no immediate needs sign for fame.. |
