ARA is not a finished product. I am a mechanical engineer.

I also follow automotive and aerospace technology development processes carefully. The fact that prototypes are on display does not mean development is completed and we are ready for production.

I dont even think all Nigerian Army requirements are incorporated yet. When they are incorporated and development is completed, you won't have N.A. buying just 9 vehicles.

If Proforce is going ahead to procure tooling with an order book less than 100 vehicles, they have my sympathy

When i read your comments, i find them to be very hilarious in the most un-usual manner.

The ARA is a finished product, it is obvious from the 3 various prototypes we have seen to date, and this the final design accepted into service.

Engineering an MRAP is not rocket science, Mr mechanical engineer. The chassis of the vehicle is based on the world's most renowned Tatra chassis. The ARA uses the exact same chassis as the TITUS from Nexter defence systems.

The first vehicle launched showed a vehicle that was bulky on all sides, with compartments low to the ground and a demarcated windscreen.

The ARA accepted into service shows a number of design changes in all areas, that is exactly why there was fanfare when it was finally accepted into operational service.

The Humvee underwent multiple improvements through out it's life cycle, vehicle engineering and update is a constantly updating process.

Same as the Otokar Cobra, that's why there is a vehicle called Otokar Cobra II.

The army's initial paltry order is down to number if factors, the ARA is a new product, finding constraints and the fact the Nigerian army only recently got 177 APCs. Not the poorly informed comment you are making.

The company anticipates increased orders that's why in addition to Ogun, they have new factories in PH and Abuja open.

Some random individual making up comments from the back of his phone screen that the vehicle not being operationally ready doesn't change this fact.

Pls leave out the chassis info. Everyone knew the chassis options for Ara as far back 2015. In what ways does agreement on a few cosmetics around the windows and doors constitute "finished product"?. What do you even know about the testing regime?. Is it completed?
What angles of inclination can Ara take?. What road obstacles can it tackle?, what about power sharing to wheels and how does it get out of deep potholes like the recent ones that caused the recent ambush?
Is the industrial engineering finished, do they have all the jigs and fixtures?

I have just looked in 2018 budget document, there is no money for Ara. If it was hidden under A vehicles or IPVs then N.A. is probably not buying up to 8 units.
Meanwhile, DHQ is rather buying Verta mini MRAP from Ukraine they are probably not even picking up more than 10 of those Vertas.

So Mr Patriotic, how is it that your local MRAP that is all finished with frozen design, development completed and tooling ready could not get any orders this year?
Your country's DHQ is rather evaluating another vehicle from eastern Europe.

All this in a context where MRAPs are the single most demanded item in your war against Boko Haram?

Are we missing something or we just face the truth that we are not ready yet?

So, why don't you tell what you know about the testing regime, provide us the data?

While you are at it, show us the part of the Nigerian budget which includes the purchase of the Tucanos and associated equipment?

The thing with acting like you know something when you are clearly ignorant about it is, when you get probed further for proof, you start beating about the bush.

The President on the day of commissioning did unequivocally say more units will be purchased, price only needs to be more affordable.

DHQ testing out a different vehicle from Ukraine is a weak argument Mr. Mechanical Engineer. In service the military already has the CS/VP3, Streit Typhoon, Reva and now ARA.

Mr Mechanical Engineer, you really need to pay attention to details. The ARA was lunched only 2 weeks ago, the 2018 budget has since been submitted to the National Assembly.

The 2017 budget provides for an upgraded local MRAP assembly line.

You have done no research, yet you speak on things that are clearly above your level of understanding with authority. The effrontery with which you make imaginary claims is startling.

Anyone seen this,nemesis8U? The economic realities of large weapons buys are interesting indeed.

France To Give 31 Jaguar aircraft Free Of Charge To India

https://defenceupdate.in/france-to-give-31-jaguar-aircraft-free-of-charge-to-india/

According to report prepared by French magazine ” Le Pointe “, confirms that India and France are holding discussions on possible transfer of 31 grounded Jaguar strike fighters previously used by the French Air Force but retired from 2005 on wards to India to be used for spares to support the existing IAF’s Jaguar fleet.

” Le Pointe ” reports says that Ex-French Jaguar strike fighters will be transferred free of charge and will not be sold to India as per earlier media reports. a team of engineers which visited France with Indian Air Force Commander-in-Chief, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa earlier this month might have already checked stored Jaguar to carryout an internal assessment of the condition of this grounded retired jets and detail report will soon be submitted to government and Indian air force top tier.

Ofc,Jean-Fraude is also looking for goodwill since Modi has just bought 36 Rafales , but still you get to keep a valuable though old air frame as a secondary deep strike FSB flying another decade and a half, basically for free!

Okay. All the points I made you have confirmed. Ara is not ready for production. We will be buying a lot of it them in2020. Prototypes on display don't mean finished products.
I have absolutely no problem with a Nigerian MRAP. Sudan, Ethiopia, Algeria, Egypt and S. Africa are making theirs. What I dont like is amateurish over simplifications and not knowing route maps that are followed to achieve things then getting frustrated when they don't happen as quickly or as easily as you deceived yourself they were.

What MRAPs do Sudan, Ethiopia and Algeria make?

The 7 yr suffering in Syria is finally winding down! All told there have been 500k casualties! This includes both active combatants and civilians. Some in this day and age will still repeat stories of gas attacks and Assad's terror but that's for another day. Syria before and after in a few snaps below.

A vid showed a grandad explaining how he carried a grenade to both kill himself and destroy his body so the rebels wouldn't,ARRGHH Bleep I can't explain it further! To me that vid proved the instigators of Syria and the real rulers of the world are truly beholden to the Dark Forces of Evil and Suffering. They take a true delight in inflicting mass death and trauma.
The famous Syrian White Helmets are being withdrawn by Israelis-the truth will always out! This is what they actually did.

https://youtu.be/3GXz9ww7JY4 WARNING!? In this vid a baby is murdered.
• It was clear that the faked injection with the long needle administered through the stitches murdered the child in the video. This was a purposeful killing staged to appear as medical treatment.
