No note 5 plus.

But

Indian note 5 = Chinese redmi 5 plus

You can either download the rom and flash or factory reset. Back up your files to an external card

There is nothing like Redmi note 5 plus, what you have is Redmi 5 plus.

Note 5 pro(India label) is the same as Note 5(China label)

Note 5 has a dual camera with a snapdragon 636 while 5 plus has a single camera with snapdragon 625 which is lower in performance to the former

I guess it should get Oreo by August, some have got it. Personally, I don't care about Oreo as much as MIUI 10, though. . I use R5P too and it's a cool device.

But, why would you regret a phone because it doesn't have Oreo?

You should be asking whether it will get Androip P grin. Oreo update is sure but the main thing is the update to MIUI 10.

With xiaomi devices, all you should be concerned about is the MIUI version. So long your phone keeps getting new MIUI versions, you are fine.

It is not normal. Try updating the apps. If issue persists, update to the latest rom if you have not done too much customizations to your phone.

Redmi 5 plus has a lower spec in the 3 devices, snapdragon 625, a lesser camera quality than the note 5 and note 5 pro.
Note 5 and note 5 pro are brothers, same in specs except the camera, note 5(ai) is better than the note 5 pro, out of the box android version, note 5 is 8.0, note 5 pro is 7.0, and regional exclusivity, the note 5 pro is only available in India, outside india all u get is the note 5 (ai).
So any note 5 u see is ai and not pro, so stop thinking about pro as u can't get pro outside india.
We have note 5 for 70k, payment on delivery. Next day free delivery within Lagos.

Did u get any info about Xiaomi releasing an android update for redmi 5 plus by august ? If yes then they will. However I do know that they update their Android version like one stop forward, during a device lifetime.
