Just saw this old poll on Twitter and it keeps me wondering why people prefer stock android to miui or is it really better than miui like.... I'm surprised though

I used to wonder myself but after testing Android one on Infinix Note 5, i've come to accept it as the best UI Android can offer.

MIUI issues were annoying me before i gave it out and i didn't even update it.

My advice is to Go for Android One variant, get used to it within weeks and never look back.

Have used Oxygen Os, stock Android,MIUI,EMUI and flymeOS and personally I preferred the OxygenOS(closest thing to stock Android and added customisations)followed by stock Android as the experience is smooth and bugs generally are very limited.

That being said I always keep a skinned Android phone as my secondary phone so that I can appreciate both sides of the coin but it has to be stock or something close to it as my daily driver.

Cant use this to judge cos a handful of people that buy the miui versions go back to stock custom roms...

Hehehe! They way you analyze it make it look like you really enjoy it. The last time I use stock android, I was just like what kind of rom is this that doesn't have file manager, everything is just white... Soo boring though smooth... I hope to try it sometimes again anyway

"Full of bugs"
That's wrong...even stock has bugs...all OS cannot be bugless because all modules cannot be tested.
Miui is fine with no major bug.

I don't get it, I don't know why people keep saying miui is full of bugs. What and what bug?. Does it render your phone unusable. If you like stock android it's okay, you don't have to give people doubts. Personally miui is the best I've used so far because I just hate it when I can't customize my phone the way I like. Stock android? That is too boring.

Guys, i want to join the Xiaomi band after my horrific experience with Infinix Hot 3. I hate a phone that lags so i dont want anything mediatek, plus 2g ram is the new min.

My Jumia search narrowed it down to Redmi 5 vs Mi 5. They are not it the same league.

I like the Mi 5 better but for 3 things, 2016 phone, small size 5.15 screen and the unpopular usb c type. All phones i compared it to at same price range falls behind it.

Redmi 5 battery and camera is not up to expectation though price is affordable.

Please advice.

Modified.

Redmi 5 screen resolution is bad too

On Most brands, upgrades on subsequent models are usually incremental. If you want a massive upgrade on a model, you have to skip the subsequent model. Like the Max to Max 3. Same with galaxy phones

The thing is that the upgrade from the Max 2 to the max 3, though incremental is good enough. To list them...
1. Bigger screen in almost the same size
2. Trendy screen aspect ratio
3. Better processor

4. Bigger battery on an already massive battery
5. Better Camera
6. Better design.

What other things were you on the look out for? I was also expecting a pro version with SD 710 and if they throw in an OLED screen, and infra red facial recognition, it would also be fantastic. But this is good enough for an update.
On point bro. I will wait to upgrade from max 2 to max 4. This phone manufacturers don't care, all they need is our money, it's left to us to know what's good for us instead of upgrading phones every year

The bezel of the phone is actually bigger than is shown on the pix. One thing I don't like about umidigi is the act of distorting their product on advert to make them glamorous whereas they are quite different in reality.

Imagine the drama of the umidigi s2.
