Aghatise: That field is optional. Simply leave both boxes (Canada/US and Other) 'unchecked' then leave that subsection blank. I hope that helps. |

My children just got a medical request this morning, and I have submitted their passport already! What should I do? There is no passport Data page attached. We only got the medical request form! Please advice my people! How much is children's medical? |
Re: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by wealth360: 10:23pm On Jul 26, 2018 |
My advice is that you should try and confirm from VFS if your passport has been sent to the high commission office in VI, if NO then get it back, If YES, please try and send CIC an email requesting for their passport data page. I wonder why you did upfront and didnt do for your children. Please try and do it. at children practice Ikoyi, children pay same fee as adult. N28,050. Jimmychuks2018: |

Hello House, please i need your great advice on this... my spouse is presently studying in Canada, he started school in January. We applied ( in March) to visit this summer ( myself and 2 kids) and we were refused ( the only box ticked was the very last one that says we have no social economic ties at home). My hubby then asked that we should use the consultants that did his study permit and they applied early June and 3 days ago my children's applications were refused on the following grounds 1.Personal asset and finance ( I submitted both dollar and Naira account with 3 land documents) 2. Document submitted could not be authenticated. ( I only submitted their admission letter and letter from their school. All other documents are mine which are very valid and verifiable e.g. company introduction letter (stating my earnings, approved leave period, my dependents, when I joined and that my employment is fixed) my tax clearance, letter from pension fund, payslips, tentative flight bookings, hubby's employment letter and payslip in Canada,Enrollment letter from the school, study permit, etc. ) Meanwhile I addressed the concern of the 1st VO's by providing a letter from my church since i'm the church administrator and I added it to the second application). while my application is yet to be released. Background: I sponsored hubby application. Have a good bank balance (Naira & Dollar) We all have valid US and UK visas. Very good job with IOC in nigeria Note: Sincerely just wanted to visit hubby on our way from the US 'cos' we intend spending this summer in the US. Hubby is frustrated and wants me to apply for SWOP but i'm not prepared to leave my job now.....Please advice a sister. |

Jimmychuks2018: I’m guessing you should have either their photocopies or scanned copies somewhere. Print those and take to the hospital, they are enough. |
Re: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by StudentsNG: 6:58pm On Jul 27, 2018 |
jaybaby2017: Sorry about your refusal dear sister. It's a refusal not denial, so there's hope. I can easily spot two issues from your explanations. 1. Over confidence 2. Desperation. To be honest, our people have messed up Canadian Immigration to a point that CIC now finds it difficult to trust Nigerians. They doubt every single document from us and every story we tell, until proven otherwise. The ideal would be to believe that our documents are true/valid until proven not - and there seems to be nothing we can do than continue to try. #Over confidence# To my no.1 above, I was a victim in my wife's first application in July 2017. I had submitted my (personal GTB Dom) bank statements (denominated in USD: 12 months inflow of $111k+ USD and closing balance of $37k+) joined with my CIBC (Canada) account with closing balance of $35k+ CDN. My company documents, 3 landed documents, etc BUT we failed to add my wife's account statement with the assumption that mine was enough. CIC turned that application down claiming that my wife has 'no PERSONAL finance' and 'poor establishments' in home country to guarantee her return. They further questioned if I was truly enrolled in school (whereas I added an official enrollment + spouse invitation letter from school). They also said they were not sure how our relationship unfolded, basically doubting if my wife was my wife for real. NOTE: My marriage was at federal Marriage Registry in the heart of FCT!, plus we added pictures from both court and church weddings, family photos at both weddings, including court & church marriage cert, newspaper publication for change of name, affidavit, etc. What point am I making here? Not including my wife's statement foiled everything else and made them question things they should never have! #Desperation# Your hubby resumed January, you applied in March and got refused and by June you already re-applied. This wouldn't have been an issue if you were from China, UK or even Kenya. But you are a Nigerian & applying from Nigeria. That was the issue. CIC saw a desperation to relocate, they didn't believe you truly wanted to visit your husband. And this is a bad thing for them to have developed that presupposition on us. I understand that your second refusal was based on: 1.Personal asset and finance ( I submitted both dollar and Naira account with 3 land documents) 2. Document submitted could not be authenticated. To tackle this, you need to give it a break first. Let your husband get at least a part time job and establish few months of work record in Canada, then add his previous semester transcripts, enrollment letters, and letter from International Student office - of course with his bank statement not just yours. Also try on your own to figure why your documents could not be authenticated, I am hearing that for the first time. < ...I addressed the concern of the 1st VO's by providing a letter from my church... > This people don't understand the 'church language', they trust papers with legal backing. Get such letters notarized, only then would it count. < ...Note: Sincerely just wanted to visit hubby on our way from the US 'cos' we intend spending this summer in the US.... > No doubt about this, very few people would leave a well paid job in IOC to come here to work in McDonalds. But then, they don't believe you. < ...Hubby is frustrated and wants me to apply for SWOP but i'm not prepared to leave my job now.....Please advice a sister... > This is understandable, but let him chill. If you rush it you may prolly get same result. No one is praying for this, but that's what we have gathered from experience. Again: Avoid Agents! How about my wife? Well she waited for about 7 months before reapplying in April this year. We added a few more documents (which we ignored in the first application) including her 6-months account statement. An of course we now have a 5 months old pretty daughter. Their application remain pending with no words for now, but we are hopeful. I find this forum more useful than most agents out there. Once you have the right documents, do it yourself. Many gurus on this thread will help you. Cheers dear sister and regards to your family. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Good morning Guys.... And Happy new month, I pray our expectations won't be cut short this month by Gods grace. Amen. Before today I have kind of put the application at my back so as not to worry about it. The no update email from CIC came in again which makes me to start thinking what could be wrong? My application is 17 weeks counting..... No update since after biometrics, No medical request and bla bla. I sent emails in the 14th week to about 9 different processing office....some replied that is still processing. Also sent CSE using Lagos office..they replied is actively processing. Hubby through the office of his Member of Parliament found out that its been processed in visa office London(UK) and they acknowledged delay in the processing of work permit applications in general as of 18th of July, but promise to start working on them soonest though with out timeframe. I took my time yesterday to read through the study permit thread for Canadian student and discovered some of them sent in E-medical slip through CSE and was acknowledged despite the fact that it wasn't requested and wasn't done upfront.....noticed @jimmychuks2018 also did likewise from the thread. I am thinking of going for medicals next week and sending it to them through CSE maybe it will fasten it....what do you guys think? I need your advise. Thank you for your time and have a great day. |
