Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by ChrisKels: 1:14pm On Jul 26, 2018 |
COOL10: So he must play Lateef because the number 9 shirt is assigned to him. Talk of favoritism. His team has been doing doing well with Lateef coming in from the bench, so Whats the fuss? Oh Lateef must start bkus he is Lateef from the PSV? Abi na only him dey bench? Abeg make una got sidon 1 Like |

elyte89: C bro I am pro foreign born and local born players. Choose the best, thats all, no favoritism. No preferential treatment bkus no one is more important than the other. The team is doing well with Lateef coming in from the bench, if Lateef aint down with that, he can go. The coach makes the selections not Lateef. If we continued this way, these fb guys would start feeling more valued than their local counterparts. And u know where that would land us 4 Likes |

The problem is we have not watched these lads play to really make judgements. There are rumors of underhanded deals. Should ther be truth to it, chances are Omidiji -- and not limited to Omidiji -- is not getting the nod to start in order to make other players look more valuable. I don't think forumites here have ever said FBs should be favored. The clamor has been for deserving FBs to be given a chamce to compete. ChrisKels: 2 Likes |

Joebie: That is it. Nobody here has seen the team play. And so we must not just jump into a hasty conclusion. Being foreign born May not necessarily make him the best player on the pitch. Allegations or not, I like listening to both sides of a story before making conclusions. 4 Likes |

Haha!! Good one at the highlighted. Like I tweeted to Olu Saraki after he was discharge and acquitted by the Nigerian supreme court ... I reminded him that being discharge and acquitted by Nigerian supreme court doesn't mean that he isn't guilty because the same Nigerian supreme court also "discharge and acquitted" James Ibori until he got to London and real justice was served. Bottom line, I understand your point. O pari komekn: |

I no talk oooo. AC Milan Jump Into The Race For Super Eagles Dazzler Joel Obi Published: July 26, 2018 AC Milan Jump Into The Race For Super Eagles Dazzler Joel Obi Joel Obi is attracting interest from Italian club AC Milan in the ongoing transfer window, as per reports. Tuttomercatoweb.com claims AC Milan are mulling over a move for the Torino midfielder who began his career in Italy with The Rossoneri's bitter rivals Inter Milan. Obi has entered the final twelve months of his contract with Torino and they are looking to sell him to recoup majority of their previous investment on the player and the fact that he has not been offered a new contract suggests that he is not in the plans of manager Walter Mazzarri for the forthcoming season. Though the 27-year-old had been linked with Premier League club Crystal Palace plus Portuguese duo Benfica and Porto, the most concrete interest has come from Celta Vigo who saw a 5 million euros bid turned down by Torino. He was named in Nigeria's squad list for the 2018 World Cup but did not see any minutes during the tournament in Russia. Joel Obi has made 110 appearances in the Serie A for Inter, Parma and Torino. I have just read the transcript ofvthe convo between Salisu and Tiger. The coach was a victim of circumstances, and the under cover agent was intent on making him out to be corrupt rather than testing his morals. Salisu already knew the two players in question who were first team membera would definitely feature bar injury and sickness, and he pointed that to the agent without qny demands or any anticipated offer. The crooked under cover agent, forced money into his hands and made offers that Salisu neither requested nor needed any assurances. Fact is that, most coaches in Africa or some in Europe would probably do same within same circumstances. Ask Sam Aladyce. |

Can somebody remind me the last time a Nigeria team featured its best 11 at that moment? Or is it an impossible/unachievable thing to line up the best players a country can boast of at a particular time? Cos in Nigeria's case, it is either one player is missing cos of misunderstanding with the coach or he is too old, he is not in the good books of the admins, he lacks team spirit, he refuses to grease palms and so on... |

He doesn't need any kind of FIFA approval to play for the National team. Tottenham Boss Lavishes Praise On Nigerian DM After Shining Vs Roma : He Has A Lot Of Quality Published: July 26, 2018 Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has lavished praise on young Nigerian midfielder Luke Amos in the wake of his brilliant performance in their 4-1 hammering of AS Roma on Thursday morning. Spurs dominated the midfield against their Italian opponents mainly due to the work of Amos, who played as a holding midfielder and was able to close down the strikers and knew when to go forward. When asked if Amos could follow in the footsteps of Ryan Mason, who broke into the first team after starring on a tour of the United States, Pochettino told reporters : ''Yes but I don’t want to say there is a similarity with the feeling I got with Ryan. But Luke played very well and he still needs to work hard. "I thought he and all our midfielders who came on the pitch showed an amazing energy. ''I am so happy we have these types of players who are always willing to work so hard and keep running. ''Luke has a lot of quality. He needs to work hard to find the opportunity to play. But I am so proud of his performance and that of all our midfielders''. Amos, who was in action for 84 minutes against Roma, has spent time on loan at Southend United and, most recently, Stevenage.
