I agree. Some coaches even with their badges will not record successes. Nothing wrong with Finidi starting as an assistant. Manu MAY have an eye for talents than Finidi after all. Some people just have gifts.

BascoVanVeli:

Manu might only have a CAF badge but the success he has had at the U17 level coupled with the caliber of players he has developed makes this a no brainer. I don't see how Finidi starting under him should be an issue. Nigeria is not Europe he will need to get integrated into the system. Remember Emanuel Amunike did the same thing before leading his own team to glory

Being an assistant to anyone is never an insult. There is always something we an learn from one another. You are the one saying this.. If Finidi were given an assistant job chances are he will not turn it down.
daveP:
Asst Coach?

That would be an insult on an injury yet to happen. why?

Baba Finidi is well versed and capable of managing a youth team on his own.

Why can't we see the handwriting on the wall. Spain invited him to do similar job at a summit. If the next Iniesta comes from that summit and gives credit to what Finidi imparted, is it then we would begin to blame NFF for not doing the right thing then?

I'm not saying he is all knowing, but Finidi is okay with a cadet team. okay name peeps he will be asst to first.

Haba.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 11:57am On Jul 28, 2018
Finidi can impact that even as an assistant. Some coaching personnel work as a team the. others. Some head coaches do not lord it over. Ideally, they bring together their strengths as a team.

I have been in support of Finidi handling one of our cadet teams. But I don't see anything wrong if he is made an assistant to anyone for now.

tbaba1234:

Now you are getting to the point. Better coaches at the youth level will impact values that will help players become better professionals. A coach like Finidi with good experience in the spanish youth system which is probably one of the best in the world can impact inmeasurable knowledge to Nigerian kids.

Structure and coaches.

Since we do not have that, we have to rely on what is available.

The boy has grown taller from just 3 years ago suggesting he is within his growing years.

The average age of secondary school graduates in Nigeria is 16-17. We know for a fact that he was still in secondary school in 2015 at least.

And he passed an MRI test.

All the empirical evidence point to a young kid.

I am not one to categorize all players as cheaters because it happens in Nigeria. I know for a fact that many players past and present have used their correct age.

Many years ago in my Father's house a distant relative came to stay with us from the village. It was the general think to do.

He was 21 but clearly malnourished and never had a good balanced diet and or good health care.

To cut the story short, he grew taller 3-4 inches teller.

How would you explain that

The baseline data used your FIFA to make the deductions about bone fusion was not centred on people from the West African sub region even with its variables. So it's accuracy has considerably wide variations. That makes it impossible to make absolute conclusion on specific age. It becomes indicative of age range.

Now do you think that particular gap is unknown to our opportunist NFF officials.

However,in the context of Nigerian officialdom I can accept your age BIG YES , I just don't have to believe it.

Finally, your being parochial about your deductions in average school age of 16/17. It's a question of location and environment. Thay age may possibly be plausible in urban centres even middle class areas.

But it's not the same across Nigeria, a typical example us the Dapchi girls kidnapped from thier high school. A lot of them in SS2/3 were already in thier late teens and some were 20.

So that assumption that across Nigeria the average age of SS3 students is 16/17 is quite optimistic.

I deh England but I deh Waka reach village Oh I'm not out of touch but it seems you are.

. It is not the only reason but definitely a MAJOR reason. Shebi you know that 'coached out of the player' implies an unlearning process and when you're so used to something,it's quite hard to let go. Let's say you finally manage to do so,you have to start a new learning process which is also not easy. How old will the player be when everything is finally learnt especially with this issue of age cheating? Majority of our players go abroad believing they know the basics of football only to go there and find out that even a 12 year old knows better than they do. Football is played differently in Europe than in Africa and you and I know that to excel as a professional football player,YOU GATS PLAY IN EUROPE cool

The coach is not teaching u a new shooting technique, he is simply telling u to pass the ball.
That 12 year old talk is completely bogus. We have smart players just like we have dull players just like anywhere else.

It is just shocking that people call him being assistant coach an insult. They are more worried about someone else's pride instead of focusing on the players he could help in that position.

Confirmed: Nigerian Defender Dubbed The New David Alaba Joins SC Freiburg From Bayern Munich
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that promising Nigerian defender Kimberly Ezekwem has ended his association with German champions Bayern Munich after penning a deal with another Bundesliga club SC Freiburg.

The left back, who models his game on Austria star of Nigerian descent David Alaba, will remain on the books of SC Freiburg until at least the end of the 2019-2020 season, having put pen to paper on a two-year contract.

Several clubs were interested in signing Ezekwem before SC Freiburg won the race for his signature and he has been added to their U19 roster.

The 17-year-old is not yet in tiptop condition as he recently recovered from a knee injury but is hoping to show off all his skills to his new employer when the new season begins on August 11.

Ahead of their first game against Unterhaching U19, Ezekwem has been training with SC Freiburg for the past three weeks.

He featured for the youth teams of SE Freising and 1860 Munich prior to his move to Bayern Munich.

Arsenal put in a rampant display in Singapore to trash Paris Saint Germain 5-1 in their International Champions Cup clash on Saturday afternoon.

Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi was deployed upfront alongside attackers, Pierre Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Arsenal at The National Stadium.

Ten minutes after the Gunners had gone ahead through Mesut Ozil's effort in the 13th minute, the Nigerian nearly doubled the lead after he was picked out by Mkhitaryan but the 22-year-old was denied by a sensational save from PSG custodian, Gianluigi Buffon.

After a very satisfactory first half showing, Unai Emery opted to replace the winger as part of the second half changes, introducing Alexandre Lacazette in his place.

Iwobi was not involved in his side's first two pre-season games, the 8-0 trashing of Boreham Wood and the 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid due to his World Cup exhaustion will now look to forge a good partnership with his teammates before the resumption of a new season.

Alongside Ozil's first half goal, Lacazette(2), Rob Holding and Eddie Nketiah also got on the scoresheet for Arsenal while Christopher Nkunku got the Parisians consolatory effort from the spot.

Next up for Iwobi and his team is a clash with Premier League counterparts, Chelsea in another ICC tourney game on Wednesday August 1.

He will be an under study to Deji Behruether. And just like Deji, Kingsley hasn't been capped by Germany at any level.

We stand a chance if ManU could do an Ejaria on him.

Ghana didnt make it to the world cup yet, their players seem to be getting more recognitions in this summer window than ours. Here are some who made giant moves from obscure leagues to the Europe top five leagues.

1- Richard Arthur - Wa All Stars Ghana to Lyon, France

2- Kasim Nuhu - Young Boys Swiss to Hoffeinhem, Germany

3- David Twumasi - Astana to Derportivo Alavez Spain

Trust me Onyekuru is a gem. When I said he was better than everything we have as wingers, people thought I was beefing on others.

Yes, some of those wingers came to the national team before him, but he is miles ahead of them. From Musa, Simon, Vicmo to the Yinkas et al, they have nothing on Onyekuru as wingers.

As a striker, only Musa will give him a run for his money. KPOM

You are only deceiving yourselves if you think Onyekuru is an inch better than Victor Moses, Simon and Ahmed. grin

Is Valencia in the same level with Chelsea were Vicmo dey or Liverpool, Monaco or Olympic M. wey dey look for Simon and Ahmed?

I have nothing against those guys and I always wish them the best. I want Simon's Liverpool deal to push through as much as I want others to make better moves, I was the one who posted klopp's verdict on him, also I was the one who posted the news on how his agent scuttled his Tottenham move. But that doesn't make him as good a winger as Onyekuru. It's crystal clear.

As for Moses and Musa, we all know if they had continued as wingers, by now, their careers would have gone into oblivion. As a winger, Moses failed in all the clubs he was before Conte's Chelsea. Musa made his name playing as a striker for CSKA and when he got moved to the wings at Leicester, he was a massive failure..

I reiterate, Onyekuru is the best winger among all the wingers we have.

Super Eagles midfielder Uche Agbo has told SCORENigeria he will back his club Standard Liege to be champions of Belgium after they got off to a winning start in the new season.

Agbo started and finished the game as Standard beat visiting KAA Gent 3-2 in the opening game of the new season on Friday.

“Last season, I won the Belgian Cup with my club and this season I want to win the league after we lost narrowly via the playoffs,” Agbo said.

“It was great to start in the season’s opener and also we won the game.

“It was good to win your first match of the season against a formidable opponent like Gent. We are looking forward for a better season.

“It was a very tough match that you will not believe it was just the opening game of the new season.

“This game has boosted my confidence after I worked very well in the pre-season.”

Agbo also praised compatriot Taiwo Awoniyi, who was a second-half substitute for Gent on Friday.

“Awoniyi gave our defence something to worry about with his amazing runs and pace, he didn’t look like a player who was playing his first match for the club,” he remarked

“He has adapted quickly and well to be able to put up such a performance.”
