Bus body-builder Labh Singh Harnam Singh (LSHS) has been hired to build high-capacity buses for Tanzania government's Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services as Kenya prepares to import the same from South Africa next month.

LSHS managing director Mr Daniel Maundu said the firm was working on the first order after the Tanzania government contracted Isuzu Motors to build the first 80-person capacity buses for use under the BRT programme.

Meanwhile, Kenya is planning to import the high capacity buses yet Tanzania, which initially imported buses from China, has turned to us to use our 70-year plus experience to build the buses for them.

Artistic impression of the railway passing through the Nairobi National Park! We care for our wildlife this much!

We take the initiative to examine the impact of railway construction and operations on the environment, and practice eco-friendly ideas in all aspects of project design, management and construction throughout the SGR project.

Tanzania is far better than nigeria and more organised than nigeria. Nigeria is in the class off niger republic, chad and somalia. Just look at statistics we are last in the world in everything. Tanzania is not really a bad country I lived there for a while .one of the things I liked about tanzania was fish everyday fish is so cheap.

No,Tanzania is lagging behind with a long tail when it comes to development, they're slow and lazy enough to change their country since the country is runned by some swahili socialists and bongolalas..
A suitable rhyme mate for Tanzania is Ghana.

You would have used a good case example of Ethiopia in place of Tanzania above there.

But ethiopia is far in front of nigeria to far in front of nigeria. Nigeria is in the same class with DRC, sudan, chad and niger republic

The trouble with Uganda Oil sector started when it abandoned Kenya route and chose Tanzanian route. Now with Total S.A holding major stakes in both Uganda and Kenya and being a lead investor in both portfolios, there is no way Total would invest in building two parallel pipelines all leading to Indian Ocean at relatively short span of distance between them. Pipeline construction is such an expensive undertaking and given the fact that Uganda pipeline would be the longest heated pipeline in the world, calls for due diligence by any prospective investor. I hate to predict that it will take a long time before this dream of pipeline would be achieved, unless government changes the route and join forces with Kenya then this realization would be realized sooner than later. The onus is on the government to critically think about the route of the pipeline. The government is basically engaging on the sideshows rather looking at the real issue of financing

In meantime Kenya is making progress.
- Early Oil export scheme is already on - heated trucks & refurbishing of the Kilindi Refinery (for storage).
- Pipeline cost is down to 1.1B dollars (without Uganda oil being factored - we don't need huge pipe) and it already being designed with construction set for next year.
- Lamu Deep sea port is being built...together with related infrastructure including airport & roads to Garisa to Isiolo to Turkana.
- LAPSET roads/airports/infrastructre are in-progress -along the same oil pipeline - Uganda and TZ would have to build a new "useless" road along the pipeline for construction and maintenance.

- We have upgraded the upstream pipeline to huge capacity.

Better yet, many people don't know that Kenya has been exporting oil for a long time. Kenya Pipeline Company have not only been exporting but also processing oil since the 70's... Complete with oil pipelines connecting major cities.
So if you ask me, Uganda fvkd up good and they know it.

Btw,in typical style M7 has a border dispute with the DRC at the centre of intended oil production! This Tutsi mass murderer is stuck in a Migingo type situation with Congolese oil! The day those guys sort out their mess and inflict payback the world will end.

Oshodi Transport Interchange + Lagos airport road expansion from a four lane road to a ten lane express way with BRT systems in the middle grin grin: (Mighty project)
Project scope:
A) Terminal 1 would serve those traveling outside Lagos and the west coast. This is why the terminal is dubbed the inter-city terminal,Terminal 2 will service commuters heading towards Abule Egba and beyond and places like Mile 2, Okokomaiko and beyond, while Terminal 3 will be for commuters going to Anthony, Ojota, Lagos Island and Ikorodu,
B) The three terminals, with multi-layer floors, would have lifts and elevators to ensure commuters can easily move from one floor to another. aside, all the terminals are linked by skywalk to ensure passengers could easily navigate the entire interchange, moving from one point to another with ease. (to accommodate 70 buses)
c)- In all have 18 lifts and three escalators

You are making a reasonable point here, but I don't understand why you'd say there wouldn't have been any substantial difference in the living standards of a country if it had an additional 30% (400 million people) of it's population.
It's just like saying Nigeria wouldn't have been any much different if we had 60 million less people or 60 million more people with our current economy.

Yes, I know that China is suffering from a shortage of young population in comparsion to the older and this is now slowing the growth of their economy. However, they have already made great progress with this policy that it will take India some great time to catch up.

It would be easier and better for China to maintain their current economic size than for India to catch up with China even in the next 2 decades.

Do you follow India's politics? This toxic rivalry of different democratic political parties might continue to affect Indian progress, but for China this is never a problem.

I dont follow India's politics. The point is that the same quick pace that China has progressed with is the same pace in which they will slow down. A time will come when they wont have the necessary workforce to maintain their insanely expanded economy and it will last for a good few decades.
