The App looks promising. Although I always feel safer doing things offline. I know Stanbic owns the App but I still feel safer doing tbs with a bank I belong to, as opposed to an app which do not need to have a bank account with

I'm using the app. It's OK but I think the publicity is not good enough and I don't want to be doing that job for them.
They are in collaboration with sterling bank.

That's true.
You get your interest at maturity.

Eg if your money goes fiam while you're using the App, there might not be a way to verify you actually made the payment. I guess my point exactly is that there are lower risks doing it via your bank directly

There are always ways to verify if and when payment is made. There's also the alternative of walking into your bank and requesting that the payment be made via eBillspay. Besides, the rate of unresolved disputes when it comes to online payment is almost non-existent compared to cash transactions via ATM.

You know you don't get your interest upfront right? That is enough reason for me not to use the app

Give your bankers a counter instruction not to rollover on maturity. It will drop in ur acct, then u can add money and issue a fresh instruction

Hello all,

Please I need opinions on an issue. I bought treasury bills with a 100-day tenure in May. It will be maturing later in August but I need to settle some urgent needs. How easy is it to terminate the investment and how does it work? I bought with First bank.

Thanks

More like fixed deposit with the bank promoting it.

Those using it, anything like withholding tax in the terms?

Write a letter to them that you want to add a specific amount of money to the existing one.they will add it up for you and roll over at that very date it matures. Dont terminate. I have tried this method with first bank thrice and it worked

Hi friends,
Can someone enlighten me on this t bills interest rate. I just picked interest in investing in it recently.
Like say the interest of 10% for 181 days, does it mean 10% per annum or are you getting entire 10% of your investment after 181 days?

Very correct. In fact, if you bought tbills on secondary market with FBN, you can liquidate part of it without terminate. I don't know if it's the same with other banks.

Does your tbs automatically rollover at maturity or do you have to specially request it?

I don't understand. You request for it to be rolled over? Meaning in the absence of any such request you get your money at maturity?
