Herdsmen/farmers Crisis: Report Indicts Ex-pdp Governors, Defectors by Islie: 2:07pm On Jul 29, 2018
There are strong indications that ex-governors in the opposition party in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), may be involved in the herdsmen-farmers’ conflict in some parts of Nigeria.

This was contained in a report recently released by a United Kingdom-based group, The Bridge Centre.

According to a part of the report, there are possibilities that chieftains of the PDP are supporting killers in their desperation to get at the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the centre.

The report claimed that this may be the reason why many of the killings occur in communities that did not vote for PDP in the 2015 general elections.

The report cited the case of one “Gana” of Benue State, who was reportedly linked to an ex-PDP governor who ruled between 2007 and 2015.

In Benue, the report alleged Gabriel Suswam’s successor, Samuel Ortom, of indecisiveness in the case of Gana.

“Gana has been identified to be allegedly responsible for scores of deaths, including many that were initially attributed to herdsmen. Ortom is now formally back in the PDP,” the report asserted.

Elizabeth Robertson, Head of Research and Documentation of the organisation, in the report called on the United Nations Security Council to urgently intervene before the world starts dealing with the problem of a lost generation in Nigeria.

The report read part: “The world has on several occasions been appalled by the wanton killings in Nigeria from incidents attributed to clashes between herdsmen and farmers.

Attacks upon attacks in affected communities have been blamed on “killer” herdsmen, who in such instances prove elusive as not much would be heard about the daring killer squads that carry out such crimes against humanity.

“The situation has triggered a cycle of blame game within Nigeria, with the consequence that the persons behind these killings, at least responsible in part, are successfully evading justice.

“Findings show that there is a need to investigate some of these persons who may have links with the PDP, which has its could have its imprint on the farmers/herdsmen crisis as the then ruling party and more recently as the country’s leading opposition party.

“Transhumance is a phenomenon that is not peculiar to Nigeria. It has been worsened by climate change, urban sprawl, changing cultures and economic pressure.”

The centre noted that investigation into the killing, murder, robbery cases of in Plateau, Taraba, Kogi and Kwara States must ve thorough by quizzing all PDP ex-governors and lawmakera including those who currently defected from the ruling party.

“Some political leaders of the PDP have in the period since the party was voted out of the Federal Government engaged in the formation of militias, which they armed with weapons prohibited under several international protocols.

“These weapons have been deployed in commission crimes against humanity as they resulted in mass killings.

“Taking cognisance of the continued desecration of the sanctity of human life, the United Nations Security Council is invited to order a full investigation into the role that politicians, especially the PDP, are playing in the killings attributed to farmers/herders’ crisis.

“Arising from the findings of the full investigation, it should take the steps necessary to deter the kind of disregard for human lives as it is presently the trend.

“Time is of essence for whatever intervention the Council has to make since it is important that Nigerians are reassured ahead of the general elections.”

if PDP is responsible for the Fulani herdsmen killing in this administration this means that APC was responsible for the boko haram killings in last administration. QED

and who was behind the killings when Suswam was governor for that period?

the problem here is the way the situation is being handled.

without pointing accusing fingers at opposition or anyone else, this situation was dealt with during the last regimes of GEJ and Gabriel Suswam but here we are today

So PDP is now again to be blame for inciting herdsmen killing that Miyetti Allah Hole Kautal have confidently claimed responsibility for in Benue, Plateau
So this also simply mean & confirmed that the APC was also responsible for the escalation in the killings in the run to the 2015 elections. undecided undecided

Simple.

The report claimed that this may be the reason why many of the killings occur in communities that did not vote for PDP in the 2015 general elections.
So PDP is responsible for killings in Zamfara, Brinin Gwari(where El-Rufai paid the killer herdsmen to protect the people they're killing )

Guess PDP are the Killer fulani herdsmen occupying people communities after chasing out the inhabitants in Benue & Plateau? God punish all of una.

The killing has nothing to do with these trump up reasons. It all started from the beginning of this buhari leadership when the going was still Rosy for him. His body odour escalated it abeg. Fulani herdsmen and meyetti allah came public claiming responsibility on live television. Its like these people feel all Nigerians are fools sha!

Another paid APC propaganda
Accusations without any iota of proof.

Is it PDP that is also stopping buratai and his python dancers from protecting the people or is it the PDP that have owned up that they are retaliating for cows killed.

Ortoms defection to PDP is still causing APC heartburn

I urge all journalist and investigators to visit areas ravaged by fulani terrorist herdsmen and they will see with their own eyes that the occupiers are FULANIS.
What these terrorist do with support from Miyetti allah with military assistance is to locate areas they want, move in and massacre the inhabitants without any provocation then occupy the territories.
ALL AREAS WHERE FULANIS ATTACKED ARE CURRENTLY BEING OCCUPIED BY FULANIS! THIS IS A FACT!!!!
The attempt by this useless govt to lie and turn the genocide in middle belt into party politics will NEVER FLY!!!!

Read the article below for more details about occupied lands by fulanis after murdering the inhabitants in Plateau state.

Not when PDP were clearly indicted for the Boko crisis too especially when the late security adviser to GEJ declared that PDP is boko haram and a few weeks after that revelation he was assassinated and not when a top boko haram commander was arrested right inside the home of a sitting PDP senator

I have always maintained that this alleged herdsmen issue is all politically stage and it has the same old PDP modus operandi written all over it.

Look, this is what most unbiased observers have always known. There is a core political dimension to the crisis and given the desperation of some political actors to deflect government and public attention from themselves and derail the incumbent government, it is not so difficult telling who are likely behind these attacks.

Regardless, we will still keep bidding our time. Everyone would get their due eventually.

This one has nothing to do with suppression of information. The method was so simple.

They actually know that its easy to tip Nigerians into the hatred of ethnicity and religion so they sent mercenaries to start the first attack on a helpless Fulani settlement and then claim some other persons or a certain ethnic group were behind it and the rest of the mayhem would just spiral from there.

What PDP are doing is an emotional war. They are deliberately triggering the emotions of gullible Nigerians along religious and ethnic intolerance so hatred would push us to kill each other and in this case, their guinea pigs are the fulanis who they want to blame for everything just because the president is also a Fulani.

That was their only way of getting to Buhari. Attack his integrity and the rest would fall apart for him.

Its a psychological thing and the gullible emotional hate filled Nigerians are buying the nonsense and swallowing it hook line and sinker.

I on the other hand have never been deceived and I saw through their methodology right from the start.

A man who can steal and get away with it, will surely steal again. They sponsored boko haram and got away with it despite boko haram now being out of control. So now this is a repeat blueprint of boko haram.

This was exactly how boko haram started. By attacking random targets in specific zones.

the problem is you and I, we refuse to hold people responsible for information that comes from them.

sometime in 2014, Goodluck Jonathan came openly to tell us that, in his words "we know the sponsors of boko haram", till today, no one has had to ask who really those sponsors are eve as some went ahead to vote him second time without demanding full details of that information.

this time, the Government of Muhammadu Buhari has come out to tell us Opposition elements are behind the killings going on around the country, and again we have refused to demand to know who those opposition elements are but we are already subjecting that information to good use. why is the government not telling us if they are working based on incomplete intel or its just a guess work. if they have full info and decide to tell us only a part of it, is that not suppression?

There are two very significant things you must note.

During the time of GEJ he had a security adviser who of course had access to information Jonathan didn't have regarding security situations in Nigeria.

He boldly declared the PDP was behind boko haram. Jonathan knew this too but couldn't say anything since it would totally destroy his government and his party. So at the expense of you and I, that information was buried.

Now PMB is here and though still investigating, suspicions have already shown the hand of PDP elements behind all that's going on but I am sure he would not want to just blame anybody for the sake of it. He would want to get it right by not only blaming but also showing proof to that effect.

PDP on their part has said they are responsible via azazi for boko haram

APC on their part have said PDP are responsible for the killings today

Now as a neutral person if you sit back and check the time lines of these killings, areas these killings occurred, states involved and how a lot of the attacks and killings were absolutely needless you would begin to see a pattern. What is that pattern?

THE VERY SAME BLUEPRINT USED TO START BOKO HARAM. THE SAME PATTERN IS AT WORK.

Be aware that anybody can send letters to newspaper editors and it will be published. The newspaper only has to present the letter as defence to indemnify itself when prosecuted.
