When I mentioned Arik, I was referring to Arik when it was really Arik... not the crap they have today. My first experience with them to The UK was actually over 6 years ago. But now I can never ever try Arik again. My final experience was when I traveled to Ghana 2 years ago and they delayed me for about 5 hours with no single explanation or even “sorry”.

Of course BA is king as well as Virgin... Lufthansa too is nice.... but try Emirates too and you will know that Ethiopian is just a learner lol.

And no ill pass on Airfrance..total crap never a nice experience with them for me..Arik ISSA NO for me ...they can delay your entire life for one trip...never used Emirates...for now my favs are Ethiopian, lufthansa and British Airways

Escalation is good oh... Home Office responded within 12hrs... They said I shud get my decision this week by God's grace..... Watch this space...!!!

Arrived Uk on Saturday via BA and there was no question at the border except what exactly a legal practitioner means and specific qualification I have in Nigeria. Glad to be in hubby’s arms now.

Is the child's dad a British citizen. If he is it doesn't make sense you will want to pay over £2000 for the child's visa when you can get the child's passport for £88 pounds and it even makes your application stronger cos you are the mother of a British citizen but anyways if that is what you want. My child was born in Nigeria and I got his passport in 7 weeks. He doesn't even have a Nigerian passport

As long as you are British citizen your child get the passport. My son was 3 months when I applied for his passport and he got it in 7 weeks. Don't waste £2000 on visa. If you don't want to wait for passport apply for right to abode in the child's Nigerian passport. It's the same things as getting a British passport

Use that link. You will answer some questions and it will give you guidance form, application form and list of supporting documents. It's like spouse. Visa. Your wife will send original documents to you and you will send it to Durham. They only take original documents. Your wife will fill the form on behalf of your child and get someone to countersign one of the child's passport. The passport should be countersigned by someone with a professional job that is not a relative that hold either a uk or Irish passport, EU passport, common wealth passport or US passport. However the application will be faster if the person that countersigns has a Uk or Irish passport. The person must have known your wife for at least 2 years. The person doesn't have to know the child but the person must be able to identify that's the child.
The identity documents needed will be your wife showing proof of address however you will have to submit your child's nigerian passport, birth certificate, immunisation card, your uk passport,your neutralisation certificate, your wife and yours birth certificate and your wife's Nigerian passport as well. You will provide all these as well as 3 identity documents which will be your wife's identity documents. Everything has to be original. Photocopies and laminated documents are not accepted. They will sent the passport to your wife via DHL and supporting documents as well.

I phoned the passport centre and was advised that she would be eligible for a British passport in Nigeria or when she arrives in the UK if we pay the £2000. In addition, I was also advised that once she get her British passport she can come to the UK without no hassle just like citizens travel anywhere in the world. What a relief ! I will stick to this option rather than pay 1 million naira for their application for my wife to bring her along. I was also advised to speak to home office regarding if she would have to pay her own fees when my wife is applying. I have emailed UKVI for information regarding that as I don't want to call them, they're often used delay tactics to keep you on the phone and will end up paying more consultation fee from your bank. I have paid the usual £5 or so for their email and expect reply within 2 days. The reply from home office would determine if they confirm she would pay £2000 including NHS surcharge

If she is a citizen they will most likely advise you to apply for her passport. I have seen situations where they refunded the child's visa fees and told the mom to apply for the passport. They asked if they should delay one woman vignette till she gets her child's passport. They tend to not give citizens visa

i am applying for my son currently so what is the biggy??

or am i applying from anoda planet? all they ask for is birth cert(local and national) and later any evidence to back up ur application. Its way easy to do from naija because u show them ur papers and they scan it right there and return.

Hi... if you became British citizen on or before the birth of ur child automatically the child is British... U just need to pick the form at the post office fill it with necessary document ad stated in the form.... go for passport check at the post office and wait for ur child British passport within 4 to 8 weeks.... if the Home Ofgice have and question in regard yo the application they will contact you either by email or phone ..... trust me on this
